You werent kidding about the stunning waterfalls! ohmy.gif

It is very pretty even if it does look like Cyrodiil rather than V wood.

I love the village on the Strid! happy.gif

Valenwood is most definitely one of the most exotic places in Tamriel. Buffy must be proud to be a wood elf. She has roots there.

The sunset is beautiful. It never ceases to amaze me how wonderful Tamriel's scenery can be, despite it being a dangerous world.

The Valley Floor is even greater! Buff and Super must have a great time swimming at the river. The River Port? Is that Buffy's boat? That's also a great scenic moment, too. The village hidden in the valley has to be a safe location. Hidden, quiet and peaceful. That is some view from above Skingrad. Those green lights enhance the looks, too. Gives it a magical, arcane feel. I know for a fact Buffy loves it.

And yet I am, and live—like vapours tossed.
I long for scenes where man hath never trod
A place where woman never smiled or wept
There to abide with my Creator, God,
And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept,
Untroubling and untroubled where I lie
The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

CT- Thanks! The little outfit Buffys wearing in Valley Floor is sort of a loinkini. Heres an older but better shot of it. Screenshot

mirocu- Kvatch Rebuilt has turned out to be a real gem. It is indeed so nice, given the length of our game, to see that city rebuilt. Thank you!

ghastley- Thanks! Yup, those waterfalls can be distracting. embarrased.gif

McB- Thanks for popping in! Like you, I was kind of surprised how close those cities looked. It sure seems to take a long time to ride between them! ohmy.gif

SubRosa- Valenwood Improved really did a fabulous job with the Strid River Valley. Vanilla rocks and waterfall resources were perfect along the border like that. happy.gif Thank you!

KC- Thanks. I agree that parts of Valenwood from that mod are very nice. . . but it is still not the jungle we imagine it to be. Parts of Blackwood and Dementia actually come closer to what I envision. Of course, your recent shot of Valenwood from ESO simply trumps everything looks like they really nailed it there!

DE- Thanks for your kind words and warm support. Buffy really enjoyed her expedition to Valenwood. Even though, as well see, it was rather short lived.

* * *

We ended up deleting our Valenwood mod for some technical problems. But not before I managed to capture three more screens -

Valenwood bandits know how to camp.

Buffy. . . being Buffy.

The Queen of Twilight.

Although, like me, Buffy was a bit cranky when we had to truncate our Valenwood expedition, 'twas nothing that some Cyrodiil dungeon crawling couldnt fix.

Do you want top or bottom? {Inside vanilla Fort Rayles}

Buffy hates it when a foe inconsiderately decides to move while her arrow is in flight. Here, shes using telekinesis to recover an arrow that missed its target.

Neat treehouse! A perfect place for a blond, bosmer, bowgirl.

Buffy in the buff! biggrin.gif

I see Azura is getting around, now appropriate that from the glow on the horizon, it is either near sunrise or sunset.

Oh my let's not get Buffy any more cranky... Chocolates?

What a clever way to get arrows back! I always hate hunting for them afterward.

Oh, how I love those Buffy pixies! happy.gif I can understand her crankiness, hopefully that went away quickly.. wink.gif

Amazing treecamp btw, but I dont remember those beds in the fort... Maybe I should pay another visit to that place. You know, if Lothran allows, that is laugh.gif

Catching up in Northern Valenwood:

The Strid River valley looks gorgeous! I almost missed the leaf-wearing elf in Sunset. (A Nord pointed her out to me. tongue.gif ) The light is perfect in that picture. What an enchanted sunset.

Buffy must have loved all of those waterfalls. I know shell carry the memories with her when she splashes around back in Cyrodiil.

The port and village tucked along the river banks really spark the imagination. Thank you so much for sharing these!

How neat to see Arenthia. I imagined it for Lil as a very Imperial city, and the view of its rooftops within sight of Skingrad made me smile.

Ill take Falenesti as the part of the city that the walking trees left behind. tongue.gif I agree that parts of the Shivering Isles look more the way I imagine the wilder bits of Valenwood. Its nice to see Bosmeri cities built of clay and rock rather than a lot of imported wood. In this shot of course its the restored city in the background and the lovely friends in the foreground that make my heart jump. Buffy and Superian look ready to wander on. What a fabulous shot!

Recent batch:

Loinkini, whoa! It looks like Buffy is telling someone off in that picture. biggrin.gif

What a fun bandit camp. Yay for tree elves!

Aww, little elf big falls. happy.gif

How neat to see Buffy with Azuras statue in (Im guessing) dawns light. Its particularly sweet that you caught her giving some love to Superian. wub.gif

Cranky made me laugh out loud. Many facets to Buffy, its wonderful to see the rare cranky one!

Top or bottom? Some would reply Yes, please. tongue.gif

The telekenisis is a great archer-mage picture!

Thank you for this beautiful look at Valenwood through Buffys travels. Thank you also for the warning that unpatched the mod would be problematic. Buffys daring journey gave us much to smile over and anticipate when we travel to Valenwood somehow someday. And as ever a glimpse of Buffys life through her travel shots is so heartwarming and welcome.

Love the pixies!

I adore Buffy's treehouse and her outfit. Reminds me of some kind of old Indian tribe tongue.gif It's awesome!

My personal favourite was Queen of Twilight. Such a gorgeous setting... where about is it? I assume the location is mod related?

Not sure what I was looking at with the waterfall thing though... whistling.gif ...

The twilight one was my fave picture though...Loved that...Very moody indeed...Excellent!...

The grouchy one was funny...Loved the green top!...Very nice indeed...

I love the telekinesis spell!!!...I use it so much to get those stones that others leave behind... biggrin.gif ...

Excellent stuff Acadian...Would love to be able to do some meself, but lack of decent PC and all that prevents it... laugh.gif ...

Hope yours returns to functioning properly soon enough though...

Nice one!!...

Wahh? No more Valenwood? sad.gif

Heh. Buffy can learn from those Crappy Campers. They weren't effective enough in their lazy banditry laugh.gif Might I say Buffy looks lovely in that screen.

Great screen of Buffy taking a shower/bath under that waterfall. Is there no other more pleasant and natural way to bathe in Tamriel? I think not. This is great. Mcbadgere, I know what you were looking at you sly Mcbadgere you laugh.gif

By Azura by Azura its . . . Azura!

I wonder what pissed Buffy off. She doesn't look happy one bit, does she? So, you can have her go through a range of emotions in the game via mod? How does it work?

There she is in the creepy, dark and gloomy dungeon. Its often easy to lose an arrow or two in there, but that's nothing a good telekinesis spell can't handle.

What a pretty campsite! I love Buffy sitting on the edge there. I like her outfit in this one too.

And the second picture contains no surprises! laugh.gif Still, a very pretty picture with the waterfalls and an elf making use of them.

Interesting use of the FOV command in the next one. I would like to try to do something similar with Skyrim.

Cranky Buffy?! Were there any vampires in that fort?

laugh.gif Telekinesis! Thats clever!

Yes, that June pic is a good one. But it reminds me that in Cyrodiil, they drive in the middle of the road. ohmy.gif

At one point I considered a mod to double up the path grids along the main roads to stop that, but it proved too difficult to make it compatible with other mods I use.

CT- Aww, thanks for drooling over scrawny little Buffy! embarrased.gif Thanks also on complimenting that living bow with the leaves on it. By being alive, it helps Buffy with its heavy draw. And yes, she has to water it. tongue.gif

SubRosa- Knowing how you appreciate using magic for utilitarian tasks, I thought youd appreciate using telekinesis to recover arrows. Oh, I think chocolate is probably a sure cure for a cranky elf! Thank you.

mirocu- Last time we were in that fort, I remember noting that it had bunk beds and thought that was pretty neat Ive never seen another fort with them. Thanks also for your kind words about our screens of the month for May and June.

Grits- Im so glad you enjoyed Buffys little tour of that V-wood mod before we uninstalled it. I also figured youd get a kick out of her in that cranky shot. Usually that happens right after she gets thumped by some baddie or smacked by a trap. I have to be quick to catch that look though, as she resets to her happy self with her next animation change (like yawning or talking or such). Catching Buffy patting Superian happens a lot though thanks to a small mod that increases frequency for all the horse-related animations. Thank you!

Rihanae- Thanks for popping in! Both the tree camp platform and statue of Azura by the coast are from the Valenwood Improved mod. We ran into some problems with the mod and ended up uninstalling it.

McB- Thank you for the kind words. I do think that green Link outfit is probably Buffys fave outfit.

ghastley- Yikes! Getting out of the wrong side of a tree bed could be trouble! laugh.gif Thank you. Never thought about the middle of the road stuff, but you are right. Buffy generally yields over toward one side when approaching someone on the roads.

DE- Thanks! V-wood improved was nice but, honestly, not very jungle-like as I tend to picture V-wood. As I was saying to Grits, parts of Dementia actually look better to me. And the screens KC took of V-wood from ESO are stunning. On the cranky shot, I cant change her emotions; if she gets hurt though, sometimes shell get that cranky look on her face for a short time though. It makes me laugh because it is such a departure from her normally smiling and chipper manner.

KC- Thank you. That buckskin vest is a bit busty for Buffy (*sigh* story of her clothes-shopping life), but I do like the look of it and how it matches her buckskin greaves/boots. Buffy likes using that tk spell to recover missed arrows. Since I only allow her 15 arrows in a full quiver, shes pretty keen on recovering them whenever she can. Superian carries extra arrows to refill the quiver, but Buffy wont bring the mare into a dungeon until it is clear so that doesnt really help during a dungeon crawl.

* * *

As you probably know, Buffys been busy in Skyrim for some time now. Im pleased to announce that the game has earned a place alongside Oblivion as a keeper. What makes Buffy tick as a mystic archer up north is frost resistance, magic resistance, bow, sneak, illusion, conjuration and alteration. We have been playing pure vanilla so far, but are close to being ready to add some mods. Skyrim is a harsh land and vanilla Buffy looks a bit harder than she does in Oblivion of course. And such things as eye colors (for Bosmer) are limited to brown or brown. Her look is no doubt temporary at this point and Im sure it will evolve as we begin using mods. That said, I confess I quite like her vanilla look and am not in a huge hurry to change it.

The buckskin mage is rather alive and well in Skyrim.

There be mammoths here! wub.gif

She still loves big cats of course. happy.gif This cat is just one she reanimated via vanilla conjuration spell. Although we've been using horses, I believe that, like Oblivion, we are really going to need some mods to help that work well.

Sometimes the deadliest creatures above the snow line are small, wear the furs of others and fight without tooth or claw - as this snow bear discovered.

The first arrow to the knee crippled this guy, but the second one to the heart killed him.

The College, where they helped teach Buffy how to micromanage the constantly shifting frustration of what goes in each hand in order to effectively integrate bow and spell. wacko.gif laugh.gif

Yay for the buckskin mage! It is so nice to see the Buffster in her furs.

She looks so natural crouched down next to the saber cat (Gato?).

That snow bear picked on the wrong elf! I see Buffy is well bundled up against the cold wind.

Lovely shot of an arrow in flight! For a moment it looked as if we might have a new city guardsman there! biggrin.gif

And finally Buffy is getting some schoolin', as I expected. I am sure she will love the college. Though Urag gro-Shub is not quite as friendly a librarian as Tar-Meena.

How wonderful to see dear Buffy in Skyrim! I quite like her vanilla look as well. Especially in the College picture Buffys warmth and kindness are right there in her little smile. Mods may soften and brighten her look, but youve given her a marvelous start in my opinion!

I love that Buffy has embraced the versatile fur armor. Her first northern furkini! happy.gif

Arent the mammoths magnificent? I think the giants are pretty cool, too. And of course its fun to spot a tiny fox trotting by while watching the big guys. Buffy looks quite fetching in her leather frock.

Ooo, Im excited for Buffys future summoning. She looks so natural with that sabre cat at her side. Thats my favorite of this group of pictures.

In sandstorm, grassy meadow, or blizzard, theres a mystic archer. Im so pleased that Buffy has found a way to thrive in Skyrim!

Lol at the future hold guard frost troll. Great shot! Buffy has found her spot at the top of Skyrims predators.

Im not surprised that Buffy is drawn to the College. Darnand tends to lose track of time there, and the mages send him to all kinds of interesting and deadly places. There are certainly some entertaining characters there. What a lovely picture of Buffy!

Im so delighted to get to see early Skyrim Buffy! Mods certainly ease many annoyances (and make it possible to enjoy some things like horses). I imagine that Buffy will only be more pleased as Skyrim evolves for you. smile.gif

Oh, did I mention how much I love Junes screenshot? The Nord declared it smokin hot and disappeared for a short while. Something about boots and a bare midriff make him need to go make a sandwich. tongue.gif

Buffy in Skyrim! I agree with SubRosa about her crouched with the big cat.

I love the ghostly arrows and bow. Is she still using them or is she all in for the real bow?

She looks good with her furs and circlet. I think the furs in this game are excellent.

I like her look now, but I am eager (more so than you it sounds) for MODS!!
