It's something so ludicrously ambitious, and quite probably beyond my abilities.

I'm a member of a couple of other forums, one of which is pretty heavy on the rp side. They've got a thread for new rp ideas, and I threw in an idea that I'd had:

It's sort of part rp, part Choose Your Own Adventure game. It involves several characters(a selection of blank options, nothing more than a profession and a reason for travelling, for maximum customisation), travelling through a particularly legendary region known as the Forest of Adnar. And of course, it's legendary for all the worst reasons.

I'm pretty sure I must have been out of my mind merely thinking of it, let alone actually considering making an attempt at it.

Well, I've got three races thrown together in about ten minutes, some gloriously over the top 3,000 year backstory, and a forest that's a cross between the Old Forest and Mirkwood of Tolkien, and I don't even know what else lol.

I'm just hoping I can pull it off.

My plans to go for a walk have been scuppered already. The wind is picking up quite prodigiously here, and with my throat playing up, I really don't want to chance making it worse

This was my story yesterday. Very scary severe storm threat that didn't let from early morning until around 1500. Stretches of local streets under water after that. Local broadcast (over-the-air) TV station devoted itself almost exclusively to weather reporting during that time. My immediately area seems to have survived relatively unscathed. High winds, heavy rains and a bit of hail was the extent of it here. Didn't even lose electricity, though I kept to computer off and unplugged (and myself glued to the TV) much of the time. Some nearby locales weren't so lucky. Tornadoes, our biggest concern, didn't materialize until the front crossed the river to the east, except for a couple of brief destructive touchdowns comfortably to my south.)

Wow, compared to that it seems like pretty feeble weather over here.

That said, it's brightened up considerably now, sunshine and blue skies, so a walk might be back on. Then again, that wind is still pretty erratic, and since I've got a couple of places to go tomorrow, I don't want a bad throat when I do.

Ditto. No tornado, but sounded and felt like it was. Used my laptop on battery and watched the storm come in on Doppler. My dogs were terrified by the thunder.

And though our electricity flickered; it never went out (thank goodness) - and today it is going to be 69 degrees, so ... go figure!

Just joined another forum, this one centered around a MOBA called Vainglory. They even have a dedicated fanfictiob section!

But!

Chorrol might be a tad deserted nowadays but in all my travels in the Net nothing can beat the quality of the stories here.
