I've had that happen to me before; sneakers will do that if the sole is not stitched to the top; just glued there. I think some of the most popular sneaks were made that way deliberately so they could inflate sales, lol.

Well, there was 'supposed' to be little to no tornado thread with last night's storm front. Turned out otherwise. Our local TV station switched to solid weather coverage at around 7pm and didn't return to regular programming until not long before the 10pm newscast. Not long into that newscast they switched to solid weather coverage again. At about 10:20 it began to look as if the really bad weather threats would pass just to the east of us on its way north. That being the case I decided to hit the sack and hope for the best. Waking at circa 0330 this morning this proved to be the case. The front has now left our area except for a few lingering inoffensive rain clouds. My immediate area seems to have survived unscathed. At the very least I had expected to be without power for some hours due to predicted high winds.

I attempted to join a forum centered on silent and early sound films. Registered prior to 4pm yesterday afternoon. As with this forum, all seemed to go well -- until I reached the validation stage. And again like this form, I never received the necessary validation email. Unlike this forum, I have no inside connections to draw upon there. It dawns on me that this is at least the third time I've had issues joining forums due to missing validation emails: last night's attempt, Chorrol last year, and a forum for migraine sufferers quite a few years ago. No idea what's up with that. BTW, thanks again to those who helped me work around it here.

I thought of this too. I've used Avast Free for some years. I also have Spybot installed. However, my version of Spybot is very recent. So far as I know the active malware monitoring older versions of Spybot performed is no long present so that it now offers manual scanning only. I have not ran a Spybot scan in weeks. As to Avast, if it does somehow single out validation emails as viruses or malware I can find not reference to what it does with them. I checked the program's 'chest' but found nothing there. (HELP in the free version is pretty much worthless.) BTW, I attempted to log on to the movie forums a while ago. As suspected, it told me my account is inactive and provided a button to request another validation email. I did. As with last night, the reply, if sent, never reached me. Not yet.

I have Avast Free as well, and it hasn't blocked any emails so far as I know. So I doubt it is the culprit.
