Come to think of it, I don't think I'll be speaking much to one of my aunts tomorrow. Last time I saw her she kind of freaked out a little when she saw I had a beard, so some of the family think she's pogonophobic

I guess now would be a bad time to mention the giant robotic spider I've recently commissioned?

It's really cool. It's got anti-aircraft guns, fore and aft mounted laser turrets, and access to a city-wide surveillance grid. It even came with it's own genetically-modified security force

I mean sure, after that vid there are bound to be questions, but honestly, I only bought it because I thought the one in Wild Wild West looked really cool, but I wanted something more modern.

Bullets, bombs, and artillery too, according to the brochure. And the saleswoman(who was very good looking and sincere) even offered me a free ten year guarantee.

But how well does it withstand water sprayed from a garden hose?

I don't think that can really be considered a threat to anything, let a lone a 60-foot tall armour-plated robotic spider.

Did I mention the paint job? It's a really cool dark green, with nickel-edging.

But what if the water softens the ground to the point the spider´s feet will just sink through endless mud, unable to get up?

Ah, this is an urban spider, city use only. So if I took it into a park that you'd somehow managed to flood I might have a problem, but in that scenario I'd just send in the weaponised drones instead.

Well, in my defense I didn't buy it for the guns, and it would cost extra to have them all removed.

Besides, I need something to defend myself from the inevitable horde of misinformed people trying to characterise me as some dystopian overlord and overthrow me.
