I don't have a Mr. T action figure lol. Anyway managed to talk to the people I had issues with the other day and it was all a misunderstanding on my part so I apologized for my behavior. Anyway time to heal and relax for a bit.

QUOTE(Sakiri @ Jun 4 2021, 10:40 PM) Good good. Misunderstanding happens. People do it to me ALL THE TIME.
Samesis. And often I find it doesn't help trying to clear it out; sometimes people just want to feel vicitimized. Anyway; mowing and firewood in hot sun.

Mowing the firewood? Oh, no, mowing and firewood - that makes perfect sense. How hot was the sun? Never mind me - I serve Sheogorath.

Eeep! Just received a copyright claim on a TS2021 video I uploaded for publication Jun 18. The 'violation' is for music (what else?) played at video opening, an excerpt from the Andante Cantabile of Beethoven's Pathetique sonata. Thing is, the recording I use is downloaded from a site called Musopen, which specializes in free-to-use, copyright/royalty free classical music in the Public Domain. It is played by Paul Pitman, who is NOT the party filing the claim against me. (This is spelled out in the video's description and within the video narration itself.) Somewhat against my better judgment, to the limited extent I have a better judgment, I filed a dispute. Knowing that YT rigs the system totally in the claimant's favor, I might be committing a grave mistake. All the claimant needs do is deny the dispute and I'm hosed. I won't get my channel terminated with one strike, assuming the claimant chooses to go that route, but I'll have to 'attend' copyright training and be super careful for an extended period, until the strike expires (assuming I get no further strikes within that period). My hope is that the claimant is a 'honest actor' who will investigate the justifications my dispute provides and release the claim. Then again, there are plenty of 'bad actors' who make a livelihood off doing this sort of thing, knowing YT gives them full immunity to do so. Unless that pick on one of the elite channels who has enough sway to effectively combat it. We'll just have to wait and see, I reckon.

I'm really sorry to hear that. This kind of thing seems to be happening more and more often on YouTube. Just today I was watching a video by Rick Beato, who runs one of my favorite music channels, His video, I Finally Claimed FAIR USE on a Video ...REJECTED! (Rant) talks about suffering similar troubles. It's just astounding to me that an inoffensive video about trains could receive a strike like this. I really hope you manage to get this copyright claim resolved in your favor, Decrepit. Nolite te bastardes carborundorum.

I'm getting worse vibes about the copyright claim. The 'artist' listed in the claim is a certain Nick White. The claim is filed on behalf of Water Music Dance. A web search unearths no pianist by the name of Nick White (other than someone this almost certainly isn't). Checking Water Dance Music finally led me to an 'album' called Pure Moods Classical, a collection of piano snippets from various works, indeed performed by Nick White. An image, assuming it's legit, looks to be that of a teenager or very early adult. It shows him in posture as if he's play piano or a keyboard of some type, but is cropped so that the instrument is not seen.
I begin to wonder if maybe the album's classical selections come from Musopen or a like source, and are thus the same performance that appears in my video. That particular Musopen download allows unrestricted use, even commercial. It is, however, as stated previously, free-to-use, copyright and royalty free. I'm as much allowed to use it as I see fit as is Nick White. But again, this is pure conjecture.
If my claim dispute is not approved, at the very least I'll bring this to the attention of Musopen.
