Due to my recent experience where I got a trojan that effectively blocked me from using my computer and threatening me with heavy fines or jailtime (unless I paid a smaller fine, of course ), I thought I'd start a thread where we could discuss the various computer problems we've had. Perhaps we could give each other some hints and tips on how to solve them I solved my problem thanks to the wonderful feature built into Windows where you reset your computer to an earlier save point. To get to that program even though my computer was locked I had to fire up my computer in failsafe mode (pressing F8 during startup), choose Failsafe Mode with Command prompt, exit from that and do the Ctrl-Alt-Delete thing to bring up the activity menu from where I could search for the C:/ directory and from there find the program where you make a save point/reset to a save point. (Apologies if my explanation is a bit clunky ) This post has been edited by mirocu: Nov 25 2017, 10:15 PM

QUOTE(mirocu @ Oct 1 2016, 09:21 AM) I just left Puter at my computer guy´s home. He´ll replace the current card with Geforce 6200 or if it was 6800, I already forgot but I think it´s the latter.
Not the most powerful card out there even ten years ago but I do suspect the game will work with that. It´s supported by the game and what I saw on the webz the most likely problem is related to the card. I´ll see where this takes me and go from there.
Thanks for the tips, btw. I´ll check the DirectX specs later if it still won´t work.
The 6800 should play Oblivion at medium grapics, it is what my old PC had. Might not handle the Fallout 3 or New Vegas games though. EDIT: Excuse me, my old PC had 8600; not 6800. So ... best be sure they know what kind of games you play! This post has been edited by mALX: Oct 1 2016, 11:15 PM

An informative video highlighting one of many benefits of using the ever glorious Windows 10. QUOTE(mALX @ Nov 30 2016, 02:28 AM) All day today I haven't been able to open up any threads on Chorrol. I kept getting an error message saying some file was missing and to contact the administrators.
Well, it is still doing it ON GOOGLE CHROME. But at Acadian's suggestion I tried using Internet Explorer or Firefox.
Firefox would not open, it said there was some odd error and to repair something.
Internet Explorer is opening the pages just fine! So it is probably not this site having issues, but either Google Chrome or my PC.
Can someone tell me which, what is causing this?
No problems with Chorrol and Firefox for me today. What's your OS? (Windows 7 for me.) This post has been edited by Decrepit: Nov 30 2016, 11:48 AM
