Due to my recent experience where I got a trojan that effectively blocked me from using my computer and threatening me with heavy fines or jailtime (unless I paid a smaller fine, of course
 ), I thought I'd start a thread where we could discuss the various computer problems we've had. Perhaps we could give each other some hints and tips on how to solve them  I solved my problem thanks to the wonderful feature built into Windows where you reset your computer to an earlier save point. To get to that program even though my computer was locked I had to fire up my computer in failsafe mode (pressing F8 during startup), choose Failsafe Mode with Command prompt, exit from that and do the Ctrl-Alt-Delete thing to bring up the activity menu from where I could search for the C:/ directory and from there find the program where you make a save point/reset to a save point. Yes, both Oblivion and Fallout 3 work as they should with the only downside being a tiny bit of lag. The computer is one of those small boxes (not custom built) but I will try and have my computer guy install more RAM at some point if it's doable. -------------------- Lol bird

Getting RAM for a pc that old, new, might be a challenge, bird. And I'm not sure I'd trust used parts.
And reaps, that's just a tiny step over my card. Basically 2 gigs more RAM and I think a bit higher clock speed. Wasn't worth the extra to me. Now I've got a guildmate running a 2080Ti.... Yeah minell run on ultra but I just haven't been bothered to try it. I currently run a custom graphics setting but I haven't changed it yet.
And bird, by old, I'm insinuating the RAM might be different somehow. Like, I buy a stick of 3200 speed in my old pc I had when oblivion came out, it wouldn't work. They live making stuff that doesn't fit in older hardware.... Oh you're talking about just the graphics card? I'm not sure if put anything new in there... maybe try to find a 1060 or something. More RAM would indeed be nice but not mandatory. Gaming and browsing needs to be a bit slower compared to my main computer since it otherwise slows down significally by itself. But in a pinch I could live with it and quite well in fact. I just wonder if it's bad that the AC adapter gets hot enough to cook eggs on it

Well can't do much about it, can I?
 Edit: Old youtube layout extension on Firefox stopped working AGAIN. I don't know what's up with this? There are many addons available but none works anymore except one I managed to find. If only they could stop not working! Edit 2: And now that one stopped working too!! Edit 3: And now it works again - what is going on??
