QUOTE Kell looked questionably at Amara, whose arms were still in an extended position from firing the orb. By Stendarr, the girl was actually useful. She wasn’t helpless after all. He approached her, the whole time gazing into her eyes. Eyes that gazed back with an indescribable look. He stopped before her. He had to thank her. He opened his mouth to voice his thanks.
But that wasn’t what came out…
“Gods woman, you’re not as useless as I thought!”
WHAM! Amara replied with a right hook into Kell’s cheek. He staggered backwards then fell on his back.
That was quite awesome!!! I giggled like a schoolgirl reading that! Very good update Kell.....excellent work!

I have been neglecting to update, so here you go. Once again it's about a page shorter than my usual updates, but classes have kept me very busy lately.
******************************************************
Kell stretched his right arm out, reaching into the night sky.
“Why me? Why do I have to be like this?”
‘Why does it matter? You have a strength, use it!’
Kell ignored the voice. He lowered the arm and folded it across his still aching forehead. It didn’t hurt nearly as much as his jaw, where Amara hit him.
‘Use it to avenge your father! Use it to kill the three!’
“Avenge? He’s alive… I know he is…”
Deep within his mind, the voice began to laugh. It started as a chuckle, then escaladed. Through the whole thing, there was no sign of true amusement. This laugh was laced with frustration.
‘I know your thoughts. I know why you are going back. You aren’t looking for old man Ventrius, you are looking for proof. You don’t KNOW anything! That’s why you are going back!’
This time Kell was quite. He continued to lie on his back and watch the stars for some time, waiting for more punishment from the voice. None came. For a short moment, he was once again alone.
The place where Kell was resting was one of the many giant mushrooms that dotted the landscape of Vvardenfell. This particular mushroom was set against a hill, which one could simply climb then literally step onto the broad cap of the fungus. This is exactly what Bryce had done.
“Beautiful night, am I right?”
Kell ignored him at first as he approached. He really wanted to be alone right now. After all, he had a lot on his mind. His father, his home, his past, his arm… and now his traveling companions.
“Shouldn’t you be watching over Amara?” he whispered as the Breton seated himself to Kell’s right.
“Watching? For what?”
This wasn’t a question spawned by ignorance. It was clearly a statement that spoke: ‘There’s nothing out here, and you know it.’ And indeed the Argonian did. He would have picked up the scent of any local creatures, or even bandits. That was the reason he was here, alone. If there was, in fact, anything in the area that could pose a threat, he would be by Amara’s side. Bryce apparently knew this.
Kell let out a low growl of frustration. Bryce was here for a reason, and he wasn’t going to leave until he was satisfied. And of course, it likely involved the girl.
“So… what do you think of Amara?”
Kell set his gaze on the short man. “You certainly are a direct one, aren’t you?”
He shrugged. “For years now I’ve survived by peeling information out of people thread by thread with useless questions. I see no harm in getting to the point once in a while.”
Wasn’t he like that in the cave? You haven’t actually heard him ask you any questions that didn’t involve Amara.
Kell’s gave returned to night sky, illuminated by the myriad of stars. “She’s a foolish little brat that has caused me nothing but trouble.” He rubbed his sore muzzle with his left hand. “She packs quite a punch too.”
Bryce chuckled. “I think she has a thing for you…”
“We just met. If she has feelings for someone like me then she has problems.”
“And yet it’s fine for you to have feelings for her?”
Kell shot up and glared at him. “And just what are you getting at?!” Realizing how defensive he had gotten over the question, he calmed himself. “Look, I don’t have any feelings for her. Besides, I doubt she has any feelings for me. She’s a human and I’m an Argonian, it just doesn’t work that way.”
Bryce’s trademark smirk had never surfaced. He seemed mesmerized by the night sky. Yet his mind was as sharp as ever.
“Kell. By saying something like that you would be denying your own existence.” He turned his head, but didn’t move his eyes from the sky. “She likes you because you saved her life. She likes you because of what you would do just to make her comfortable.”
Kell sat back down and lowered his head. “What are you talking about… she hates it when I do stuff like that.”
Bryce finally rose to his feet. He began to walk carefully across the rubbery surface of the great mushroom back to the hill. Upon reaching the edge, he gave Kell a final look, as well as a few final words before retiring for the night.
“Perhaps she just doesn’t know how to deal with someone caring so much for her. Or perhaps she cares as much about you as you do her...”

Finally, the long-awaited update!
Enjoy!
************************************************************************
Amara gripped the dai-katana tightly with both hands and made a clumsy chop. The heavy weapon lurched and pulled her forward as it came down to strike her imaginary target.
“Spread your hands apart a bit more.”
She obeyed, and immediately felt more control as the weapon took on balance. It was still quite unwieldy, however. But that would be expected for something made out of Daedric material.
“Don’t make fists. Float your thumb and forefinger a bit.”
Again, she obeyed the Argonian. This time she felt no change, save for a certain discomfort in her hands. She really began to wish Kell had taken the time to find something lighter for her to practice with, rather than his own weapon.
“Now… bring the pommel just over your belly. Bend your elbows only slightly and tighten your shoulders a bit.”
Now she just felt silly. Kell had always made this look easy, but she just couldn’t find the impression that she was doing it right.
“Have you ever gone fishing, Amara?”
What a stupid question. Her arms were trembling with fatigue from holding the weighty weapon in midair. “Yes,” she managed to squeak.
“Swinging the sword is much like casting a fishing line; it is more than a simple chop.”
She couldn’t hold out any longer. With her remaining strength, she lifted the sword above her head and brought it down. The tip kicked a cloud of ash into the air as it collided into the ground, and Amara barely avoided the pommel ramming into her stomach as the sword once again pulled her forward. She was unable to stop the weapon this time, yet there was still a noticeable improvement over her last attempt. The chop was straight, not slanted.
Both Kell and Bryce awarded her with a round of applause. It was the most gratifying thing she could remember. As of now she had felt like nothing more than baggage. But now, she felt she had a true friend in the strange half-breed. She blushed at the applause as she struggled to catch her breath. Kell approached and effortlessly lifted the weapon from her tired arms.
“I think that will do for today.”
She wasn’t sure, but if he could smile then she felt he would be at this time. Unfortunately, it would be the last time before the lumbering silt-strider carries him to Gnisis… alone.

Dang, I really liked this fan fiction it's too bad that you decided to discontinue the story I was looking forward to the next part but I understand why you decided to stop it. Anyways thanks for all that you did write mate, best of luck if you plan to write another fan fiction.
