A Pair Of Blue Eyes, A little Sheogoratharian madness... Options

Thought you guys might like this, a little piece I wrote in about ten minutes:

Elbent Bertious left his house at the same time he had every other day. He kissed his wife, and then he walked the short distance from his house, to the Governor’s mansion. He had his guar skin bag over his shoulder, with his documents, some potions, and some lunch. He walked in to the Governor’s Mansion and greeted everyone, flashing a dazzling row of white teeth, that which only Breton have. “Very well, Grobol, thanks for asking. We just got back from our trip to High Rock. No, didn’t see your wife, sorry…” He made his way up to his office, and got to work, processing criminal cases. One stuck out in particular. An Altmer woman had been killed, and her eyes had been taken. Her killer, a young Dunmer male, had been found, and was now ready to be sentenced. Elbent shivered after reading this, and then continued his work.

The day went by to lunchtime, with no event. Elbent grabbed a pitcher of water from his cabinet, and opened his bag, to see what his wife had made him for lunch. He was reading the newspaper, and reached blindly into the bag. When his fingers reached the bottom, he didn’t feel the usual hard touch of the bread, but rather a soft, squishy, feeling. Elbent looked down and shrieked and dropped the bag. “Stendarr, what is that?!” He walked over to the bag, and saw looking back up at him, a pair of blue eyes.

He shrieked again, and then put the bag in the garbage, and ran to Shenk’s Shovel, to get a drink. When he got there, he realized he didn’t have any gold. “Dammit” he swore.

A man with red hair and a cane turned from his bar stool and said “No money, friend?” “Um… no. Left my money back in the office.” The man grinned, a devilish grin and said “Well, let it never be said that Herto Goash didn’t help his fellow man. What’ll you have?” “Um…thank you, a mead, perhaps?” “Very well. Shenk, a mead for my friend.. What did you say your name was?” “Oh…. Elbent.” The man turned away and said “A nice name, to be sure.” When he turned back, his eye sockets were empty, and blood dripped down from them. Elbent shrieked and jumped backwards. He landed on the ground and when he tried to yell, his mouth was filled with something. Eyeballs. The man grinned as Elbent slowly choked to death. “Pity. Such a nice name.”

A horror story to be sure....strange but interesting just the same....

Reminds me of the twilight zone, well done! I've never seen a TES FF that reminded me of one of my favourite shows. Also, really well written.
