Urgh. Playing New Vegas today just reminded me why I never bother with companions in Oblivion...

I LOVE the companions in New Vegas! I got a mod that lets them "relax" if you go into a casino or at your residence wherever that might be. I had a mod that made Victor's Shack a little more like a home; and I went in and put down a bunch of NPC Idle Markers - brought my follower there and told her to "Wait" while I hung out there for a while (so she wasn't dogging my footsteps) - and she sat down on the floor in front of the fire, sat at the bar, warmed her hands, etc. - It was AWESOME !!!

Sure, they're nice enough, and useful, but sometimes... *shakes head*

I just had Ed-E float out into the open to take on three turrets and two robots singlehanded. And once he'd moved I couldn't get him back to safety. And my last save was twenty minutes or so beforehand sad.gif

So my floating fridge/workbench(seriously, at this point he was just carrying steaks, weapon repair kits, and components to make more) got himself blown up mad.gif

At one point I wanted to get New Vegas only because of a cute blondie companion tongue.gif

I got my copy for 2.49 US dollars off Steam. It was well worth dealing with Steam to get it for that price. I hated HAVING to use Steam for Skyrim after buying the disk from Bethesda; but it was different to buy a game off Steam (for a great price) and play it on Steam. I didn't mind that, and it has turned out to be very convenient since I can keep Steam offline on my laptop and play anywhere without carrying a bunch of disks for the games I've gotten off Steam.

mirocu
So, youīre saying getting games on Steam is better than getting them on cartridges? hehe.gif

Aw, I hate when that happens! Ed-E is a fun companion, too. (though impossible to sneak with him around, lol).

No, not better. Just convenient at times. Like I used to bring my laptop to work and play video games on my lunch hour; and I had to bring a bunch of disks that could get broken or lost/stolen.

Not to mention, the cheap price for the games, I picked up the Ultimate New Vegas; GOTY Fallout 3; and Legendary Skyrim - all three for under 33.00 US Dollars. (I already had the basic Skyrim disk, but none of the DLC. Even though I wasn't playing it, I thought I might want to try the DLC's one day. And on Fallout 3, I only had it for the 360, and my dog broke the 360 disk).

I got Vilja for a while, she was pretty good; though I had to go through her voice files and remove some lines I didn't like from her repertoire. (she griped/whined a lot, and sometimes if you were nice enough to give her spending money she would scan your inventory gold and call you a cheapskate if she didn't think the amount was high enough compared to your gold count - I took that condition/action and dialogue out, didn't like it.

King Coin had some hilarious Vilja moments in his Aravi vids! For some reason, his Vilja was a bit of a lush, rollinglaugh.gif

And Decrepit travels with Vilja, and has some of the funniest combacks to her griping that I've ever heard!

I made a companion mouse that had a terrible temper, and loved playing with it so much that I removed Vilja from my game and just kept the mouse. (I was going to keep Vilja in the game, and just have her stay at home with Eyja the Skingrad maid - but she railed at Maxical so badly and pouted so much whenever Maxical came home from adventuring without her that I finally pulled her esm. from my Data folder, lol.

Sure!

Iīm talking about a well-known British police series called Midsomer Murders set in modern times and centered around Midsomer county with HQ location in Causton. Its main character is Chief Super Intendent Tom Barnaby who has a wife and a daughter and who constantly struggles with the humor and dodgy morals of his helper, Sergeant Gavin Troy. At least it was Troy in the early days. Tom has had at least two other ones after Troy but is now himself replaced with a relative of his.

You are thinking of the influx of (way too young and angry) Official "forum-ites" filling up Chorrol with their trolling and flaming like unhousebroken pit bull dogs?

And ... what haven't I heard, is the Official site no longer going to be a forum where fans can go express their devotion to Bethesda in creative Fics; Art; and RP's (or just decades long discussions on the game; our characters; or the Lore)?

No, but Bethesda's new forum is such a damn trainwreck, such an ugly, broken mess, that I don't know that it's actually better than having nothing laugh.gif

And it probably won't be. Apparently the membership at the new forum has gone straight to Hel, there's a lengthy thread on the old forums about how broken the new one is, but nothing's being done about it. And the sections they've moved over there are basically dead, so it looks like the old forumites aren't following their sections over.

Considering their apparent lack of concern over the user-friendliness and simple functionality of the new forums, it's doubtful that they'll make any effort to keep those sections alive, if they even bother moving them over.
