I mean, you expect it to be really cool. And sure, it's great for dramatic entrances, having it billowing behind you. But one time out of three the wind changes and the damn thing trips you up, and it's impossible to get through a revolving door without being garrotted.

Also, a Brit with a cape is just a target for every American action-hero wannabe . Thanks for that. Hollywood kvleft.gif

We have Hollywood to thank for a lot of things, including pushing gang violence as cool. We have a major culture problem when it comes to TV.

And the casual usage of the N-word. Tarantino films in particular are pretty difficult to watch because of it.

Job news: It seems I´ll get a short-term non-paid job within the program I have. My parents´ landlord said he could take me on and have me do this and that but none of us know for how long. I think it´s about three or four weeks but I´ll find out soon. He won´t be paying me, I´ll get what I get from the same place as now. The idea is that it could lead to me getting hired although he said from the start he has no such plans at the moment. Whatev, I´ll do what I´m supposed to do and that´s that.

We had some government crap like that for a while, forcing people to work for their unemployment benefits, meaning not only couldn't they find work(because they were too busy working) but there were fewer jobs available because companies would rather get someone in via the program than actually hire someone.

Not quite. You have been paid all this time for not working, now you are having to work for (a month to earn all that money that they are/have been paying you). Most def not a slave; they are trying to prod you into productivity, making you earn it for a while; laugh.gif

Yeah, I hate when that happens! But - would rather have a bunch of little things adding up than one big one. At least with the little things you have a chance of picking away at them and lessening the bulk one (small) issue at a time. Can't do that if it is one huge problem. Find which you can unload and do it; it gives you some relief and kind of rallies you when you can vanquish even the small issues. (At least that always works for me).

Yeah, the little things are definitely better than the big things, but it's still an annoyance to have to plow through them.

Yeah, they are so taking advantage of people having to work for no pay. Sometimes it may lead to them hiring that person but I think that´s more of a rarity than a rule.

Just got an email from my firearms dealer who basically confirmed what I already know. There are no legal issues with me getting this rifle and nothing that says I have to get rid of one before this one goes through, as long as I don´t exceed six* firearms and name something I´m gonna hunt. Even if I were to keep the .22 magnum I´d only have five guns so again, no legal issues here. The only hangup is with the person looking at my case.

So really, I should have my license any day now.

Visited my former boss and had a chat about possibly doing my intern thing there. Things look bleak though as they prefer to not take people in this time around even if it´s free for them. Also delivered some firewood to Dad´s landlord and I think I´m gonna take the bike to the cottage this evening. One does not talk about scones in polite company, for it always causes an argument about the 'correct' way to pronounce it.

In the US, the "E" at the end of a one syllable word means the word's vowel (in this case the "O" in the middle of the word Scone) makes the "long" vowel sound. (or "says its name")

That just means we're recovering from the reaction to the referendum. The real ****storm won't start until Article 50 is triggered and the negotiations begin. From there it's all pretty much downhill anyway. Unless the EU is feeling particularly generous, the best we're going to get is a Norway style deal that ultimately costs us more money and takes away our vote in what happens in Europe.
