Martial arts is indeed fun, but since every form of working-out-progress fades away unless you keep at it it's not for me. If I could keep any progress then heck yeah, I'd do it. Love karate.

As it is though; guns, guns, guns.... wink.gif

Funny you should mention Karate; I'm thinking of doing Kudo/空道 (think Kyokushin + Judo) to complement my Sambo. They have roots in Judo anyway and I'm pretty sure they're going to mesh well. I mean, one of my gym mates is a Yellow Belt in Kudo and he's swearing by it so... Yeehaw I guess.

As for progress, hey; its up to the person and his determination like you said. Like errthang I suppose lol

How can anyone take the History Channel (or just History now) seriously when they insist on perpetuating this idea that aliens are responsible for some of humanity's greatest feats? Today's "brilliant revelation": the technique for Japanese sword smithing (katanas and such) was handed down to the smith who originated it by, you guessed it, aliens. Oh [History Channel], always with your nonsense...

*Edit: Addendum*
Also Greek Fire, Gunpowder, Excalibur, and Joan of Arc's sword; all provided by aliens.

Also Greek Fire, Gunpowder, Excalibur, and Joan of Arc's sword; all provided by aliens.

But it's all true! And I have a Green Card that proves that I am an Alien. Read it as immigrant, and it's more credible. The latter two swords were probably unremarkable, and the feats of the wielders drug-related, but there's a good chance the substances involved were imported.

I've not cared for much of anything from History Channel in a good many years. Too much of what you mention, and too of what could have been halfway decent documentary produced instead as shockumentary. The Brits seem to do history ever so much better.

Sounds like Lovecraft! Any specifics on what they might have influenced?*

A lot of things, including our very own bodies and DNA. Ever wondered why we, as mammals, have something that's scientifically named the reptilian brain? Now, that name could simply be because reptiles react without thinking when presented with danger which is how this part of our brain works. No doubt useful in certain situations but again, we are mammals, why do we have the biological traits of a reptile?

This kind of things always gets laughter from people, but I am not one to shy away from investigating a subject just because it's ridiculed. On the contrary, it's a magnet for me.

This is where I think the human traits come in. Human beings are indeed very much capable of abstract ideas, deep thoughts and coming up with new ideas, inventions, art, etc. I don't think that comes from other beings, that is from us. But still, I do believe Earth and its many long gone societies (and our society) were highly influenced by sorces other than our own.

Kurt Russell played Wyatt Earp, and Val Kilmer was Doc Holliday. I thought Michael Biehn was awesome as Ringo. And of course I have always been smitten by Dana Delany. And there are tons of other people on top of them.

It's a fairly typical vengeful hero kind of line, nothing special. And when you've got Val Kilmer going nuts with everything the film gives him, and it gave him a lot, it really needs to be special.

And I'm just gonna throw in that Tombstone is miles better than Wyatt Earp, which runs for about six months(or feels like it, at least), but does have Bill Pullman getting shot counting in its favour evillol.gif
