Just use floss!

SAKI IS GETTING MOPED?? ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif
Sakiri
Saki hasn't gotten anything yet.

Husbeast wishes to get me an ebike and his fixed so we can ride together.

Moped requires me to build storage and buy traffic insurance.

Ebike requires me to buy a funny looking helmet and a couple locks. Both end up being expensive but the moped would cost more long term I think. sad.gif plus harder to get fixed(checked my local shop, they don't work on Chinese bikes). I can fix a bike. biggrin.gif

But I don't know.

What's Chorrol think of this? https://greatebike.eu/e-bike-agogs-gust-woman

Site and manufacturer are in Czech Republic. I'm looking at around 1900 Euros...
mirocu
Well, I wouldn't know what's good or not. But I like that one, looks well-built and all.
Sakiri
It'll hold my lard butt and then a bit. Makes it a candidate for minor grocery getter.
mirocu
Yay for grocery getting! Boring but necessary.

And yay for bed; nighty!
Sakiri
Night bird.
Decrepit
A bike like that is out of my realm of understanding too. For what it's worth, my nearest grocery store is the one in Walmart I use now. That's a good 10 miles away...most of which is freeway. No bike lanes anywhere, freeway or not. My little town had a mom-and-pop grocery store when I moved here. It was run by a fellow one year younger than me. It operated at a loss. He kept it going out of loyalty to the community. His wife died. He shot himself within days of her passing. The building sits derelict now, by the railroad track.
Sakiri
FWIW, class 2 mopeds are not allowed on motorways, so there's no way in hell I'd be able to take one out on the freeway to get anywhere.

My two closest towns that we do shopping at are about 7 and 10 km away respectively. Doable on a bike, people do it every day here. Husband's grandmother used to walk that to get to work every day.

There's a little store in town though that I have a feeling will close eventually. Which makes me sad because it's my post pickup location too. I have no idea what'll happen if it closes.
mirocu
@Decrepit - Don't write that stuff, makes me sad sad.gif

@Saki - It's called landsbygdsdöden. A deliberate effort to kill off rural areas and make people move into cities.
Sakiri
In the US we call it Agenda 21. Or Agenda 2030, because that's apparently when they want it to be implemented by.

Stack and pack housing, get in the cities. Like your yard? Too bad.

I refuse to move to a big city until it's actually affordable to live there. And the cities here, aren't.
mirocu
Yup, same deal here.

Anyway: Wednesday.
Sakiri
I had to Google that, Miro. And the first two things that came up were "Rural death is fake news?" Followed by an article from Expressen saying that because touristy rural areas in summer are a boon there's no such thing elsewhere.

Lol.
mirocu
Here's a hog ----> IPB Image

It's been washed.

Sakiri
You misspelled 42.
mirocu
Dangit! sad.gif
Sakiri
lol.

So how's everyone?

Trying to find a bike under 30k kr with a frame that fits and will carry my weight is proving to be harder than I thought.
mirocu
You know, Blocket is a thang biggrin.gif
Sakiri
I don't want a used pedelec that's likely to need some work.

Edit, besides, anything I find near me on blocket I have to go pick up. Probably nothing near my shiz town too.

We don't even have a bike shop!
mirocu
Biltema has ebikes? There's probably one not too far from you tongue.gif
Sakiri
About an hour i think. The sports store there sells them too. But it's a bit far.

Online ordering is my best bet.

I'm just trying to figure out if I should worry about the weight limit or not.
mirocu
One hour isn't much. Plus you get to get a feel for it irl!
Sakiri
Biltema doesn't have what I'm looking for though. Their no brand motors scare me.

I want quality parts. And an hour is he'll when I need my in laws to drive me.

Well.

https://www.bikester.se/cube-town-sport-hyb...art-857449.html

I bought one.
mirocu
Looks like a good'un biggrin.gif
ghastley
Just make sure it comes with a woman's saddle. Take care of your Ischial Tuberosities!

Too many bikes have a "unisex" saddle that's uncomfortable equally for men and women.
mirocu
Bum needs to be comfy!
ghastley
The good thing is that once you have found a comfortable saddle you can put it on any bike. And a good one lasts for ever.
Sakiri
Yup. I figure if the saddle sucks I can replace it.

Need to get a helmet, chain/lock and tool kit. Think we got an air pump here somewhere. If not I'll buy one of those, too.

Any suggestions for stuff to stick in a tool kit? Other than a multitool of some sort, Allen keys and other bits and bobs.

I gotta make a list. I'll need chain lube too. SO EXCITED.
ghastley
I always carried multi-tool, plus a spare inner tube and means to replace it (tyre levers especially). And a pump that you take off the bike and carry with you. There are some nice compact ones now. You need a larger version at home for more efficient pumping when it's not a "breakdown" situation.
Sakiri
I'll take a look around.

Helmets aren't mandatory if you're over 15 and they look stupid, but id rather not have my brain spilled on the pavement.

I need to hit Intersport for that though because I have no idea what'll fit.

Any suggestions for stuff to stick in a tool kit?

Well, for any of my motorcycles I always had a Philips screwdriver and a few small block keys for very specific purposes. Best advice I think though is to look over your bike to see what you think you might need. Maybe it has more Hex screws than Philips for instance.

You want to keep the list of onboard tools short though, only the bare minimum for emergencies.

There's a few Im finding i absolutely must have, like a chain tool for breaking/joining chains when i replace, but i need to make dure i have everything for assembly first! Haha.

Probably won't need to have it included in your travel kit though biggrin.gif

The bike looks good, hope you'll like it!

Our wrenches and screwdrivers seem to have gone missing. And heck if i know where our allen keys went.

No, not the travel kit, but just general maintenance. I can just get a kit from Biltema and have it shipped.

28" tires. Should get spare tubes.
mirocu
And winter tyres! biggrin.gif
Sakiri
Haha! My road is ice right now. Winter tires wouldn't do much. Snowpack is doable. Ice is unsafe.

And I've never changed a tire..... at least not a bike tire.
mirocu
Tyre? Tire?

I'm tyred indifferent.gif
Sakiri
Tyre is the British english spelling of it.

Tire is the American english spelling of it.

You guys learn British english in schools, yet pick up American whilst sucking up all that juicy media and internet stuff.
mirocu
Either way, we can't escape English rollinglaugh.gif
Sakiri
No, no you can't. lol
mirocu
In my head I speak American English but always throw in a "Krikey" or "Blimey" rollinglaugh.gif
Sakiri
Lol. I use some Australianisms myself, I've been hanging around my guildmmates too much. I play WoW with Aussies.
