That was only an hour drive north of where I live now! I also remember living here when mowing season didn't kick in in full force until May, maybe early Jun on rare years. (I'd need to do a few sporadic mows before then.) Not looking forward to Summer.

Pretty much our sitch I'd say. Snow on Easter isn't too rare and mowing season usually kicks for real in late May although I tend to start a bit early because I like riding on the mower

Wish I had the bucks for one! Push come to shove, I'm gonna have to do 'something' before too long. Last summer convinced to I can no longer handle mowing in the heat of our ever hotter summers. What I'd sorta like is for those newfangled robot operatorless mowers to become affordable. Course I have no place to store one, so it'd likely be stolen within weeks. Then again, the same is true for a riding mower. At least I could keep a robot on my front porch between mows (until the theft).
Those robots come with a variety of theft preventions such as locking up when lifted/taken away and some also have a siren that activates, I believe. And you can easily store it indoors during winter.
