____________________________________________________________________________

I recently reinstalled Morrowind on my computer after about a year. Prior I had a hard drive crash, and then was just lazy for about the last six months or so. That. and I had my focus and energy focused on other things in real life.

Well, all that changed about a week ago, when after reinstalling Morrowind, I discovered two great mods.

Morrowind Overhaul - Sounds and Graphics-(MOSG)

Morrowind Rebirth-(MR)

Now, the first one; MSOG is in no way a *small* mod. I found myself pulling hair, and gnashing my teeth at all the updates and requirements it needed. It is in fact a *huge* compilation of various modders; and I am guessing programmers, works including textures, mesh replacers, animated grass, distant view meshes, et cetera.

What surprised me most about it, was the fact that they had somehow made Morrowind Graphics Extender (MGE) user-friendly. That is you could finally get it too work without being an expert programmer yourself. This program includes things such as shaders, distant view, the works really. It does run with Morrowind Script Extender (MWSE), yet they included that in the setup.

The second mod, MR, is a Mod, on a grand scale, adding little bits and pieces here, while expanding towns with more interesting buildings and the like. It detracts nothing, so far as I can tell, and instead fills in many blank spots here and there.

EDITED TO ADD: Since I just had this experience myself, I grant full permission to use any of these images as anyone sees fit, within a reasonable limit. (Don't post "Black Hand is a doody-face" on them and upload to photobucket, but other than that pretty much fair game. smile.gif )

Loving this.
It looks so nice. Good skills. smile.gif

Although we pretty much live in Cyrodiil, we have always had a bit of a soft spot for Morrowind and its great to see someone doing the business with it!

Black Hand, thank you so much for these. Beautiful and very inspiring. This is one of those threads that will keep me coming back to enjoy the pictures again.

Most of the credit goes too Picasa Photo Editor, I just jam on the keys a bit until something decent looking pops out.

Oblivion was indeed a very pretty game...*Looks around for the McBadgere* Yeah, I said it was pretty, I never said it wasn't Badger! tongue.gif

I thank you, hardly the reaction I anticipated, but hey, I'll take it. biggrin.gif

Now then, I don't want you guys to see a response, get all excited and then be , so I'll upload one that didn't make it past the editing stage, I mean: Exclusive Content, not shown on the bigscreen!

Marketing, gotta love it.

I can't get over how much better the NPC's look with the extender! Morrowind has always been pretty, these mods make it beautiful! I may have to pull my game out and give it a try again! If I could only figure out how to fight in it...

Oh *pretty*. This reminds me of browsing all the beautiful, beautiful Morrowind mods and weeping at the injustice that my computer can't run any of the gorgeous graphics ones without the game turning into a slideshow. Forget Skyrim, the reason I want to splurge on a new computer is so I can run modded-to-oblivion (to-Oblivion...?) Morrowind!

Looking at the later pics, it looks as though Vurt's tree replacers are included in the graphics mods? Because those are some of the mods I spent the most time slavering over. I mean, look at these amazing trees. How could one ever choose vanilla over those!

Another mod for adding things in which I'm extremely fond of is Vivec Expansion, which adds in a lot of content in Vivec on the water around the cantons (screenshots at link) - houseboats, floating platforms, and the like. Although I did have to go into the .esp and disable pickpockets so that one didn't kill my computer.

I am loving these screens, Blackie! The textures are so much better in these than in most Morrowind shots I've seen before, really makes me tempted to pull out my Morrowind game and try again!
