Red Eagle's Vengeance

I have been playing a Forsworn lately, and just got my mitts upon Red Eagle's Fury/Bane. I was a little disappointed. It seems strange that it's an Ancient Nordic Sword for starters. If they couldn't make it a unique mesh, why use one of the Reachmen's enemy? So I changed it to a Daedric Sword. That feels more like something The Old Gods of the Western Reach would bestow upon their champion.

I also changed the magic effects completely. Now the base version of the sword does an Absorb Health of 5 points. I know, yawn. The Upgraded version does 10 points of Absorb Health, and 1.5 the base damage against Nords and Imperials, including vampires. I was inspired by how Ysgarmor's Axe does extra damage against elves. But instead I made Red Eagle's sword do extra damage to the ancient enemies of the Reach - the Nords and Imperials.

If it's anything like the other mods of yours that I have used (including the tiny 'black buckskins' one you made just for Buffy), it is simple, professional and flawless. Congrats! salute.gif

Sounds excellent. I think there is a mesh replacer for it by InsanitySorrow on Nexus. He's making some mod to make nearly all the unique weapons look unique.

I saw that one by Insanity, but didn't like how it looked. It seemed more Redguardish, like a pirate cutlass.

That makes a lot of sense! And it's not over-powered as a reward for that quest.

Did you change the tempering requirements at all? Is it still steel ingot + dwarven perk, or did you upgrade those too? It might be worth mentioning that in the description at the Nexus, either way, as "Deadric sword" implies ebony ingot + Daedric perk.

I was originally thinking of a higher Absorb Health, but that is a pretty powerful effect, so I kept it lower. I am also banking on the higher base damage stats of Daedric making up for the relatively modest magic effects. Given that there are a lot of Nords and Imperials in the game, that extra effect ought to be pretty useful too. But like you said, I didn't want it to be uber-game breaking either.

I did change the tempering to require ebony and the Daedric smithing perk, the same as a regular Daedric Sword.

I like your changes very much. I’ll get this as soon as I’m home. Thank you!
