Full Version: Undead Summoning

Here's another oldie I never had a topic for. Undead Summoning brings back the old art of summoning up Undead like we could do back in Oblivion and Morrowind. You can summon Skeletons, Corrupted Shades, Draugr, Draugr Lords, and Dragon Priests.

The Summoner, Necromancy and Twin Souls perks work with Undead Summoning. However, I could not get the Dark Souls perk to work with the undead you can summon. I believe this is due to the differences in the game engine between summoning and reanimating. So that you do not have to take the Dark Souls perk just to get to Twin Souls, I have created a second perk called Twin Summons that does the same thing, requiring only Necromancy, and of course a Conjuration skill of 100.

I’ve used this and loved it for necromancers but I’ve missed it since Neph retired. I had forgotten about the skellies – perfect for my Cyrodiil “I am not a necromancer” summoners! I’m glad you made this thread!

Version 1.3 has just been uploaded. This version toughens up the entry level Skeleton a little bit. But it still remains a Novice level summons. It changes the skin of the Summoned Dragon Priest from the ghostly version to the 'normal' one. The biggest change is the addition of new Skeletons - based upon those from Oblivion. There are two new Apprentice level summons: The Skeleton Archer and Skeleton Guardian (who is armed with sword and shield). Then there is the Adept level Skeleton Hero, who is armed with a battle axe. Finally there is the Skeleton Champion, who is armed with a greatsword. The Champion can create a Frost Cloak, and summon a Skeleton Guardian of his own. In addition to the normal versions of these Skeletons armed with Ancient Nordic gear, there are Elven counterparts armed with Elvish shields and weapons.

Congratulations on the new release! The Elven skeletons are so cool. I would not have thought that different gear would have such a huge impact for roleplay purposes, but it really does. Now they’re not just some random Nord remains, they’re my character’s specific skellie pals. Love it! Thank you!

Also I may have a little crush on the Elven Champ. Tremendous fun to watch in action. Call me Falanu. tongue.gif

Nice job, Subrosa_Florens! .. Perhaps this winter when I begin getting Skyrim on PC I'll have a character who'll look into this. Love the skeletons.

I am with you on the Skeleton Champion. That Frost Cloak looks so cool. I love it when he attacks someone before equipping his sword. Instead he sort of kung-fu smacks them with is hand. All of the skeletons have been a lot of fun to play with.

btw, if you are still getting the ghostly version of the Dragon Priest, it means you are using the old spell. It was actually a vanilla spell I added a Spell Tome for. I created a new spell for the fleshy Dragon Priest in the latest version of Undead Summoning, and changed the tome to teach you that now.

You can get rid of the vanilla spell with this console command:
CODE
player.removespell 10FC16

If you cannot remember the ID, you can find it through the console. Just type in
CODE
help "conjure dragon priest" 4

You will find spells and books for the old and new ones. You can tell which is which because the vanilla versions ID's will start with a bunch of 0's. My mod's version will have a two number/letter prefix.

I made a minor update to Undead Summoning. I tweaked the Skill Usage Mult so that summoning the Draugr Lord and some of the others made a larger contribution to skill increases. So overall your Conjuration will increase a little quicker when using this mod.

I finally got around to uploading version 1.6 of Undead Summoning to the Nexus. It is a minor update, adding a Draugr Archer to the list of summonings.

Yay, thank you! An archer is very helpful when there are dragons about.

Yay, thank you! An archer is very helpful when there are dragons about.

As a matter of fact, she was a lot of help in the fight I just had this afternoon with Durnehvir.
