Love your artwork! Clearly you are super talented.

Wonderful drawings!

I laughed at Eolon in his new Nordic bath towel. Jo makes such a good jester. Hates is simply adorable! tongue.gif

That whole New Life segment was really funny! Breaks the door down lookin' like a crazy person, "We're out of bank space."! Hilarious! The looks on Hates and Jo's faces in the last frame is the icing on the cake!

Very cool! Hates-White-Rats looks like Marge Simpson in pic 6 of the New Life Festival. smile.gif

I honestly had a lot of fun with the holiday comics. At one point they were supposed to have more of them (for context, really) but welp. Still, I like them a lot.

Thanks for the words, everyone.

Here are some Skyrim things.

My Dragonborn, Aza-jo. In a blanket. It was winter, okay?
In some ways, he is very much Khajiit. There's a story to this, it involves a house mod with a fun easter egg hunt. The easter egg hunt was the only fun part, as the house and the forced backstory kills all of it not to mention the author is a do-, so Aza-jo took advantage of being mistaken for the owners' childhood friend and robbed the owners blind.

His pet human, Alois. Main non-Dragonborn. I drew this recently for the sake of shitposting. :V
Much like this one!

Alois got a blanket drawing, too.

Though I make fun of it a lot, I honestly liked Skyrim if only for experiencing these two. (And a few other things more fit for a Skyrim thread to talk about)

Let's finish this off with what is probably my earliest Skyrim doodles, based on first imperssions. Featuring Mirabelle Ervine, Esbern, Paarthunax, Onmund, and my main Oblivion character+second non-Dragonborn character.
First time I drew in a long time and i'm glad it's all I've done since:'D (I really am)

That Reachman in the last pic! Holy crap that's good! Love the Reachfolk!
monkeyemoness
It's actually just Alois wearing the armor after leaving Cidhna mine (Still a Breton I guess, but not quite Reachman). Self care is soul trapping a jerkface for eternity and unleashing the King of the Reach upon Markarth.
My characters were probably the worst thing to happen to the Province
Acadian
Love the blankie pix! They're all wonderful but, by Azura, the one of 'these two' is magnificent! Wow. happy.gif

The blankets and the other drawing were one of the many things I said I'd get back to but never did. I was gonna do a whole series of lounging in blankets. Ah well. Thanks for the words.
monkeyemoness
I was gonna do an Oblivion post but I realized I don't have much Oblivion stuff, or rather it'll be tricky to post without a wall o text explaining the context. :V

So here's more Skyrim

An alternate group shot of my Skyrim cast (vulgar hand sign warning, am I allowed to post this? I can quickly edit it if not)

Just practice. Also at the time it was the first time in years that I had drawn Alois...triplet? (she was born at the same time as Alois and his twin I guess) Genevieve. She's the arch mage and just plain done with most things.
She's probably homeless. At least until I made her a house.
She is unimpressed by most things. (I drew this when I was playing the Romance Mod. During a very long, very boring dialogue sequence I believe.)

Tyrellius, Nibenese fire mage and Hjaalmarch's very own swamp witch. He anger.
Slightly younger Tyrellius. Back when he still had (very flammable) hair and lived in Blackwood. The difference in eye color is just active, alchemically-induced Night Eye.
He Garden

Painting of Deleras, Bosmer smith, using a screenshot as reference. I mostly did it to practice coloring by painting in grayscale first but I never finished. Can't remember the last time I worked on this but it's definitely over a year or two. (I think I started it in 2014? ??? ???? Geeze.)

Lol at the girl displaying middle fingers!
Acadian
Quite a nice range of differing styles in this last update. Interesting seeing some of your well-known characters and others who are less so. Alois the Unimpressed. tongue.gif
monkeyemoness
These are all from the span of....five years? ???

That said I do like to mess around and experiment. Usually I stick to the easiest, quickest style that makes me happy. :V

Yo.

So as of this writing I mostly hang out in the ESO section of the forum as it's the game I'm focused on, but over the holy crap years that I've been playing TES I've scribbled a few drawings of my characters and for the longest time it was the only way I shared anything about them--and as an aside the only reason I picked up a pen.
One time I tried actually writing down a story, but i never finished and it's on an indefinite hold unless i start over from the beginning lol.

Anyways, after just posting links in the Today in Tamriel thread I decided it was better to start a place where these things would be organized.

I mentioned that I have artwork from other games (a huge collection I'll link to from time to time I guess) so it won't be all ESO stuff, but any new things will most likely be ESO-related.

With that out of the way, have some content. (Might edit for formatting later)

The primary subjects of my sketches. For those that don't know them, from left to right:

Jo'zira - He's Jo'zira. He looks like a Khajiit most of the time. Something about gardens and memories.
Hates-White-Rats (sometimes Xochitl) - It's the Vestige. Nominally a hero, definitely a Hero.
Eolan - It's that guy. Cube Dad. He used to hide his face for no good reason. Bretons are weird sometimes.
IPB Image

I have Skyrim characters, too! They're a...different story. For another time. Feel free to look at them, though.

IPB Image

Also Oblivion? ??? This is my last group shot, I swear.
IPB Image

Anyways, I wanted to open this with something a little more..special, but I don't really have much time and/or energy to get it going so it'll have to wait. Till then, more reposts of old doodles incoming.

Have some links, because the images are huge.

Hates-White-Rats during the Witches Festival Farming for those skulls by means of murder while wearing a costume? Best holiday for her.

The New Life Festival later that year:

Eolan had fun, though it took a little encouragement. Some people were rude to him, though.

The Jester's Festival:

Bonus 2
At least someone enjoyed it.

Oh geeze, didn't know any follow up posts merged with the OP. Nice

These are amazing! I LOVE how you chronicled the events throughout the year !!!!! Awesome job !!!

I'm surprised the one you drew during the long dialogue sequence of "The Romance Mod" didn't have your character throwing himself on his sword, lol. Of course, I only heard the preliminary version of that mod from when the author was begging for funding to make it (on Kickstarter, about the time of the Paid Mods fiasco) = that one had horrible voice acting and even worse dialogue in long drawn out scenes obviously written by a female addicted to soap operas. So the version that is out now is hopefully better than that; (From what I heard on YouTube just now regarding that mod, they have improved the voice acting a lot - but still have long drawn out dialogue scenes) - so I would def say it is better than it was; though from your comments and character's facial expression in that drawing ... maybe not! laugh.gif

I like the younger Tyrellius better, but all are awesome drawings!!!

Good god. Okay, so.

The version of the Romance Mod that I played through with Genevieve (pictured above) was actually one of the earlier ones. I played it so I could see just how far the rabbit hole goes, so I pretty much ignored the "look at this through the lens of a romance novel." But you know what? Even looking back at it that way, the version of the mod that I played was still very, very creepy.

The only love interest was an unlikeable asshole that only got worse. He got rapey, possessive, and honestly, I can't understand how anyone would play this thinking "oh, but deep down he's actually a good guy" and continue "believing in him" and "fixing" him. Especially considering he's ripped off from an evil Neverwinter mod or something?

Aside from the scene I drew the thing up there for (bandits having dialogue with Bishop when honestly they'd be immediately destroyed. Genevieve does not play around.) the entire sequence was just goddamn irritating. What's that? The encounter left you with questions about these assholes and their relation to your forced love interest? Too bad, your only response is "Do you want to dominate me like they wanted? wink.gif"

THEN there was the encounters with the two Genevieve actually showed passing interest in. The Mage, being hte only one that has anything in common with her? Bishop beats him up because... ???? No further interactions with him available.

The Knight dude? Bishop goes on a spiel about how his White Knight tendencies are bad and he's repressing himself and bla bla bla some of the highlights include.

I dunno. I made fun of this mod a long time ago, but I tried the more recent version and it's better written. Bishop is more likable from the start and the PC's responses aren't so coquette from the start, but I didn't really play again.

ANYWAYS, thanks for the comments. smile.gif

I'm glad I never downloaded it, it sounds like it sucked worse than even I thought it would from hearing the little snippet she had posted on Kickstarter (trying to get people to pay for her production of it, lol).

It was fun to heckle, at tho! I don't do it as often anymore, but I DID play through Beyond Reach and I hated the mod. Can't really come up with art for it tho.

Anyways, have some Oblivion stuff!

A recent character. I think his name was Estarmo? ??? I had an itch for Oblivion and decided to make a quick, throwaway character with little RP.

Anyway, I had some issues with character textures so at first his body was oddly discolored. He was also primarily a warrior character and because he was an Altmer his strength was atrocious, so I thought, hey, what if that's just the game's way of showing how far he needs to go! The one on the right is his ~final form~ once his strength and endurance reached max and the texture bug was fixed. I couldn't actually get facial hair in-game but welp. I still have his save tucked away somewhere so maybe his adventures will continue in the future.

That aside, have some of my "official" Oblivion characters.

It's Elise! My Champion of Cyrodiil and one half of Sheogorath. (Dementia side). At least until the cosmic retcon. It's a long story. :V
I had some issues with face mods. But IMO it's better to have them than not. OCO v2 leaves a lot to be desired (Redguards too light-skinned, lips too sharp and small, I guess it's due to using a common base, and also a lot of NPC's didn't make the transition well, like Martin) but it DOES make Oblivion characters' faces match the rest of the franchise's.
She is A Good Girl, but Hermaeus Mora's quest really tried her. It was surprisingly hard to find a hostile Orc to soultrap in this playthrough.

Her "cousin" Yannick! Turns out he's actually her half-brother but welp. Arch-Mage and eventually the Mania side of Sheogorath, until things happened.
He is not very formidable. But he tries his best!
He is a Master Athlete and Acrobat. Pretty good at Hand-to-Hand fighting, too, and in the right situation, combined with magic, he CAN be pretty deadly. Just not as much as his lady cohorts.
Also an Alchemist. His theme is "destruction and reconstruction to make something new". Sometimes, depending on mod loads, he has bombs!

Aside from what's in the OP, I have no artwork of Guadalupe (formerly Aemelia), Redguard Templar. Mostly cause any attempts to play her end up breaking badly. idk She is mom.

To finish off my stack of Oblivion art, here's a comic I drew for that Integration: The Stranded Light mod. For context, there was an actual quest where you had to deliver advertisements for the Stranded Light organization to EVERY SINGLE INNKEEPER IN CYRODIIL. Well, most of them, anyways.
I did the quest in the middle of the Main Quest, when the Mythic Dawn sleeper agents start attacking.
It's not fine.
It includes the Shivering Isles btw.

So what's one to do? Use the console to complete the quest give it to Yannick to deliver while on his rounds! Never mind that Cyrodiil the largest province in Tamriel. I hate quest mods sometimes, but then vanilla treats going to the other side of the province as if it were a walk to the other side of town, too, including Skyrim.

Anyways, deadlines were met and I get to work on the ESO Anniversary thing again. I'd say I'm about...40% done. Oh.

These are spectacular! I can't get over how well you are able to make facial expressions that match your descriptions of that character! Here is my favorite example:

Her "cousin" Yannick!

And another that I loved a lot:

It's not fine.

But this has to be my favorite drawing of this post! All are awesome; but I just LOVE this cartoon, it had me rolling!!! :

give it to Yannick to deliver while on his rounds!

Also: These shots from your game are Awesome! Your graphics are amazing, I'd love to know what mods you used to make Anvil look that great!

I think for those in particular I had the benefit of feeling the emotion first-hand, sort of like the ESO comics I made recently. Virtually every drawing i did for Oblivion was to illustrate my thoughts on the mods I was currently playing, so I guess I had that going for me. That aside, thanks for the kind words!

Oh, and I use Better Cities. Since it's an amalgamation of a bunch of city mods made by different mod creators, the quality is just as diverse. Some of the NPC's are best avoided, especially considering that for a lot of them, "immersion" wasn't the goal.

Actually, most of Yannick's drawings happened BECAUSE of that mod (the quest chain in Better Bravil, can't remember the actual name, though). The NPC's are obnoxious but the questline was okay-ish. (His "tries his best" face came from trying to understand what one of them was saying) Also starting it is one of the absolute stupidest ways but I'm past caring about that. :V Just ignore everything but the pretty new architecture.

Yannick's face in that one drawing looked almost real instead of drawn; and you could feel whatever he was feeling because it showed so clearly in his eyes and expression. Really excellent!

I did my own version of Better Cities that just improved their looks = added porches, shutters, window boxes, outdoor benches, changed some textures, etc. I didn't add any quests with them, just kind of made the cities look more appealing (to me).

Jo'Zira !!!!! And is that "Hates?"

Grits
monkey, your ability to convey emotion and movement in your drawings is a delight to see. This thread is a treasure trove. Thank you very much for sharing these! When I see your ESO characters in the game, I have the personality expressed in their drawings in my mind as well. (Jo'zira looks fabulous in game, by the way. His coloring is gorgeous!)

Acadian
Adorable is not a word I normally associate with Argonians but your latest drawings may change that. And the feline expression on Jo'zira's (?) face is priceless! Can't see much of the fellow behind the mask but his eyes sure are intense!

For those wondering, yeah, it's the Squad; Hates-White-Rats, Jo'zira and Eolan.

Anyways, thanks for the kind words everyone.

One thing for today, because I forgot to do it earlier.

Depends. Most of the time I go from memory, because sometimes the in-game avatar tends to be different than the mental image (particularly Yannick from Oblivion, though it's as close as I could get him). It's much more doable when doing the dumb, low-effort ones, but for the more detailed work and anything involving in-game armor and clothes and such, I turn to references after a while of struggling. Especially in ESO where the armor is more intricate. :T

Sometimes I think I prefer Eolan in armor than out of it. Which is annoying because drawing armor is hard. :V

I still hung out in Deviantart when Skyrim came out (but I left shortly after) and there was a long little "draw your characters based on topics" thing for Skyrim. I think this was "Draw your Dragonborn meeting your Champion of Cyrodiil/Nerevarine/etc. So I drew my Dragonborn Aza-jo with my Champion of Cyrodiil and my main non-Dragonborn with my Nerevarine. I lost the full thing when my laptop died.

More of the Big 3I've played Daggerfall and Arena but i never draw those Heroes. Actually, they were supposed to be part of this. :U

The ESO Squad

Eolan and his pet cat Winceslaus

Another Eolan.

And another one.

A Preview for the ESO Thing Again. Every time I think I'm almost done I I get a harsh reminder that there's still a lot more to do. I am really out of practice and of course I choose this project to play with lighting. (Finished piece may or may not be radically different) I don;'t konw what i'm doing anymore help

I LOVE the cartoon! I did that phial quest, but can't remember finding that stash of gold, laugh.gif

Oh, how cool that you found the drawing! It is amazing how much your "Brotons" look alike!

The expression on your Khajiit in this is adorable!

ESO squad = Bwaahaa!

D'Aaaw, Eolan and his pet cat Winceslaus!

These are really great drawings!

A Preview for the ESO Thing ????? Whatever this is about, your drawing is excellent!

Brotons! laugh.gif

Gosh, these all look so good - and quite humorous.

Eolan looks so cool in his full plate and closed helm. goodjob.gif

I liked that one real well too!

So do you do all of these from memory or do you use screenies to go by?

You most def do an extremely good armor!

These really showcase your wonderful ability to display so much of what characters seem to be feeling and thinking by the expressions on their faces. Very expressive faces! goodjob.gif

SO!

Last May was my 2-year anniversary with ESO, and though it took me a while to actually get to it, I wanted to do something special with my characters.

So I drew the Squad's first meeting in Coldharbour.

Here are the humble beginnings of A Very Small Argonian, A Very Tall Khajiit, and A Very Wide Breton.

Those... those... colored panels!!!! They are frickin' incredible!!!!!! Khajiit means to say, all of your work is extremely well done... but those colored panels!!!!! Just amazing!!!

I have to agree with Khajiit! I absolutely LOVE the cartoons, but those colored panels are outstanding! Holy Cow do you ever have talent!

Acadian
You do indeed have a wonderful talent to bring Jo, Hates and Eolan to life! As as others have said, those color ones are pure awesomesauce! tongue.gif

Thanks, all. I stalled opening this thread so I could open with this but geeze did I take my sweet time on it. At least it's done and out. I was thinking of following it up with an "abstract anime" (read: wordless comic) version of their adventures in Alliance lands and Coldharbour but I reckon I'll be done with the main quest in 10 years if I did. Maybe some highlights from their adventures.

Please do! Khajiit would love to see this!

I already have some in mind but who knows when I'll get to them lol

Anyways, have some drawings that were originally part of the previous group that I ended up scrapping.
I wanted to finish it off with a group shot but I wasn't really feeling this and I really just wanted to focus on the original 3 (though in the end i feel like I could have done better). So it never happened. Maybe I will redraw this one in the future and finish it. idk

Happy 2 year anniversary! monkey, these are fabulous. What a marvelous way to celebrate your characters! I love seeing the progress shots as well as the gorgeous colored panels. The comic with Hates sprinting past Eolan makes me grin. Thank you for sharing these!

Thanks, Grtis. I'm just glad I stuck through to the end. :V

Anyways, here's something a little more self-indulgent than normal.

All of Alois's potential marriage candidates were Nords so this would be the outcome regardless of who he married. Roggi Knot-Beard had much more going for him so he was the one he ended up with. Although he usually sticks to calling Alois "[his] Lion" for his own sake.

I'm also constantly reminded that they wear the same outfit. Maybe I should redesign Alois's a little.

I dropped it for a while in favor of EarthBound Beginnings but I played a bit of Skyrim recently, mostly starting a new game with Alois to try out new mods. Might go back to Oblivion for a while before I return.
