I really do love these comic strips. I never read them back in the day. But they are a lot of fun now.

Two things I get from these; Calvin is a jerk and an extrovert and Hobbes is his conscience desperately trying to get through to him

No new strip? Is Kaneyboi on vacation too?

I don't check in as much on the weekends. Cram in gaming time instead.

I've often wondered why super heroes always have to have skin-tight suits

And today's Calvin answers that. If Dad had been wearing a skin-tight suit, he'd be immediately dry and would not have suffered catastrophic wet suit damage. Also, superheros don't usually carry briefcases filled with boring papers...

So of course I had to look it up. Apparently the Germans and the Austrians blame each other. The Germans call them Wieners - Wien being Vienna - and the Austrians call them Frankfurters. They become hot dogs when served in a bun, which is an American idea. And there is a lot of disagreement on what should or should not accompany them.

Then I got distracted by kielbasa, which just any sausage in polish, but much more specific in the USA. Plus EU directives on what is permitted to be called a sausage. Never let a eurocrat into your kitchen.
