Here’s a postcard from Grits World.

I was running behind this morning, so I cranked up the heat under the eggs and the porridge. Then I wandered off and got distracted for just a little too long. The Boy staggered into the kitchen to find me with a (red) spatula in each hand, frantically stirring.

He cracked one eye open and said, “Dual wielding.”

GAAAAH !! No running with a bad back !!! Lol on the (“Dual wielding.”) !!

RUNNING GRITS???? REALLY???? nono.gif What in Oblivion were you thinking, don't make me come over there???? The "dual wielding" is bad enough!!! (They are supposed to be doing that stuff!! MILK IT REMEMBER???)

Shaking head, try to teach them...the more I teach them the dumber I get....sigh. rolleyes.gif

I say 'milk it' mainly because I DIDN'T!!! Lesson learned! Had I 'milked it' even just a little maybe it wouldn't have taken literally 6 plus years to truly recover from the surgery and another 4 or 5 before I found a therapist that had a clue and showed me how to strengthen the secondary muscles instead of over working the core muscles and causing issues with muscle memory and bouts of "drawing" similar to what I experienced prior to the surgery. sad.gif

It's all better now for the most part, issues with arthritis lalala but age is a factor in that. Point is, my dear, I REALLY, REALLY don't want to see that happen to you!! I know I sort of make light of it, especially when referring to myself, I'm bad about making jokes of things that are painful...Trey fusses about it some, but it's like Thyna's sarcasm...it isn't funny to think of one of my friends, new or old, being in pain, and if I can help to ease it or shorten its duration by saying something then...

Please do take care of yourself, those little spongies between the vertes are delicate things and you got to keep em happy. salute.gif

laugh.gif I should have said I was shuffling extra slow this morning.

You’re so right, Athynae! I had no issues the whole week I was on my own. I need to hand over the red spatulas of control!!

Now wait, I didn't say you had to hand over CONTROL!!! NEVER EVER GIVE THEM CONTROL, bad idea. Rule from the throne my dear, arm yourself with some sort of weapon that doesn't require physical strain (water gun, pellet gun, flame thrower...) to get their attention. Then just pass out writs...

It sounds like a wonderful idea, I do hope it works better for you than it does for me, lol...

Oh mine will SAY that I am the leader but getting them to follow orders, that's an entirely different animal. Hence the water gun, pellet gun, flame thrower, as they do seem more amenable if I have a weapon in my hand...I don't have to use it mind, just hold it...

JUST KIDDING PEOPLE don't get your feathers ruffled. I only beat them on alternate Tuesdays if it's cloudy, yeesh!

I learned something early on about children : if they don't see your mouth moving when you talk, nothing was really said.

Even if they see your mouth moving...mine would sometimes swear they thought I was just exercising my jaw muscles. Yea right, like I exercise anything.

NOOOOOOO! Not- the RED SPATULAS! Anything but THOSE! I think the eggs might have cooked themselves out of fear. The porridge. Well- yer basic porridge is a rather cowardly sort, like to run at any sign of danger.

Of course a good GRITS porridge, that one will snatch the spoon right out of your hand and try to bludgeon you with it.

Haha xD, That explains what hit me when I turned around....
Anyway, school! Urgh, I can feel that this is going to be a LONG semester >.<

Me and caboose were doing a dual commentary while I played spore. Lets list the problems we encountered:

1- We couldnt use the 'share screen' feature on skype while in fullscreen, and after about 40 minutes of messing with software, I realised I could just play in windowed mode. I laughed. He didnt.

2- We were both being unprofessional.

3- The gameplay was boring to watch, according to caboose. Then again, you cant make cell growth that interesting (I suggested speed x3 and spazmatica polka, but no...

Getting my children up for school has always been interesting. Sometimes I do get the opportunity to Roll On The Floor Laughing, those days are always nice because they make it out the door without me wanting to do them bodily harm. This morning was one of those for my 10 year old son.

His Grandmother got him grape scented body wash for his stocking ( I really don't think she understands that he is 10 going on ready to drive a car). So as he was preparing for his shower I handed it to him ( because I am just a smart a**) and he says "Mom it makes me smell like a fruit."

I don't think he understood why that was as funny as I thought it was. Anyway, just thought I'd share...have a good day everyone.

The big test is to tell him girls like fruit smells. If he says, "EW!" then he is not ready to drive yet.

He is already a HUGE hit with the ladies. The kid is 10 but only as tall as maybe an 8 yr old and is in 5th grade, he has 7th and 8th grade girls calling him ALL the time wanting to know if he's going to be at the skating rink on Friday or Saturday so they'll know which day he'll be there AND IT ISN'T so they can go the other day, lol. Getting him and his sister OUT of the skating rink is like running an obstacle course through all the kids that want to say "bye".

As far as the "old enough to drive" thing, he rode his first motorcycle when he was 3 and has driven a car on PRIVATE property that a friend of mine owns but we had to modify the gas and brake to build them up so he could reach them. (but I know what YOU meant mALX)

Time to hide the car keys then, lol. My youngest son was the same way, girls fought to play with his (long blonde) hair on the bus to school. Every day he came home with a new "do." I think there is a pic of him somewhere on this thread, I'll edit it on here if I find it.

Found it, ignore the date - that is just me not knowing how to change the date in the camera :
