Though I do read lore. Friggin' tons of the stuff. Just thought that that was meant to be a joke in the same sort of vein as my (admittedly hella weak) victim character one.

Is there any way I could keep Dawnbreaker? I don't even find her armor overpowered, considering it's like leather, just with some resist disease effects. I can part with the Ebony bow, for a silver one. Ebony is silly for one who isn't skilled in archery anyways. I'll part with the Savior's Hide as well for some leather armor. I actually feel all weak, even WITH the artifacts.

Gameplay lore doesn't come into play when we RP. The effects still come into play, oh yes, but 45 damage, 70% chameleon, all gameplay technicalities like that are thrown into the wind.

What I'm trying to say is that even one Daedric artifact is powerful beyond mortal comprehension. They transcend normal enchantment because they're a part of the Prince's essence itself.

Maybe now you could see that I consider Daedric artifacts to be OP cuz of that.

But since its your first RP, I guess you could keep a weakened version of Dawnbreaker, but everything else you have to part with.

I would agree with Uleni. The lore world is much bigger,wider, and much more detailed than the game world. If we Rped in a Grand Theft Auto: Liberty CIty setting, we wouldn't RP the game world statistics. We would do so in a New York type setting. Add realism to the post. All the chamelon effects, the percentage and stuff is void when it comes to lore. You don't see that stuff in books.

We also tend to avoid having Daedric Artififacts in the RP. Sure, they have their strong effects in the games, but in lore itself? They are literatly part of the Daedric Realm and the Daedra Princes. Very powerful indeed. And let I remind you that Daedric Artficats never stay with a user for long.

Yes, what he said. I know that KoB has two Daedric rings, and we can only allow one. The Ring of Hircine you could keep, I guess, but the other you must part with. Being invisible with the Ring of Khajiiti is too overpowered.

We gotta keep this RP balanced, boys and girls. We already have three supernaturals amongst us, and any powerful items|characters|etc added further would only make this RP like a text based MMO, not a real RP

Phoenix, I noticed that Ylenno asked a question that I didn't include in my post. Its good taking control of things to hasten the course of events, but you really got to ask people for permission first befor controlling their characters in your post. If you continue to do things like that, it'll become a rather one-sided affair and that'll break the concept of RPing in the first place.

Just an advice.

Uleni and Mustard, Im struggling with that also. In Buffys latest post, we responded to a Ylenno sighting and I think did fine. Liz and I coordinated the encounter between Buffy and Kayla and I was almost ready to post when Mustard entered the scene. Rather than scrapping my post, coordinating with Mustard then starting over, I did a bit of, what I hoped was fairly neutral stuff with Tarrick to work with Mustards post. I hope I didnt overreach regarding Tarrick but I was afraid of getting into a loop of three people standing in the street asking or answering one question per post. Or getting frozen into a loop where input changes my response faster than I can craft it. Im struggling a bit with growing pains here.

I think the problem here is one of it not quite being clear what you need to do in the RP. I appreciate that these opening posts are long ones as we need to introduce the characters and give an idea of where they are, what they're like and what they're doing, but really, once it hits the character interaction and converation, generally it's perfectly fine if the posts are only two or three lines long. Coordinating with other players via PM about how your characters are going to interact is fine, but the spontaneity of RPs where each person controls different characters is what makes them fun and it's not really necessary (and it resulted in Tarrick being shoved out of the conversation, which was slightly annoying as I kind of wanted to do a bit of dialogue and so forth with those two. It made him looonely verysad.gif tongue.gif ). To be honest, planning out in detail how a conversation is going to go is probably not the best idea and if you're doing that, you're overthinking things. To put it one way, if this RP is a theatre and the players are the actors, then this isn't a piece of scripted drama you're performing in; this is improv night!

You might find it useful to take a look at some of the sort of character interactiony stuff that I'm trying to get at in the old Shards of Broken Emperors RP (and the version I translated into Ghetto-speak for your convenience). It's both easier and generally more enjoyable for everyone to handle character interaction only from the POV of your characters, and if there is a bit of accidental conversation-ninjaing going on the edit button can always be used.
