Anyway, I am in the process of writing something and I searched the IL and UESP for clues to no avail. Do mages have any weaknesses besides being absent-minded? Is there any books in the ES universe that explains how to kill a mage using sword or axe?

TES follows the usual convention of denying mages physical defense. They can't have maximum spell power when armored, so "with a sword or axe" is exactly the right method. I'd also note that there's often a trade of weakness to magic for power using it (Altmer, Apprentice birthsign) so reflecting spells is a big advantage against them. -------------------- |
