I feel like I should listen to a German band to celebrate the match tonight,but who?

Well right now I'm listning to:Foster The People-Don't Stop(Fat Rat Remix.)

I heard this song on a video by the almight Jesse Cox(OMFGCata) which was the results of a contest,a colouring contest involving the TGS podcast.

I didn't win anything but was happy to see mine on in the video anyway.

Much of this trip down memory lane is a result of MTV, not necessarily reflective of my actual taste in music, which is quite literally all over the map.

Catchy songs have a way of staying with me, and years later it strikes powerful nostalgia within me.

This song was in 2000, and that was the first year of my independence: Read, I was kicked out and finally moved in with some friends, that while was in fact an admixture of good and bad, sweet and sour, etc. I tend to remember it with a glowing frame in my mind, as the "good old days".

Much of the last thirteen years has been an internal yearning for these days, and recreation of it to a certain extent.

Yet, objectively my life is currently the best it's truly been financially and situation-wise, what with having a decent paying job I actually like, my own place, and living in a decent place and having a car.

What is it about our scumbag brains that refuses too acknowledge the present, instead preferring the irrational high of emotions and dopamine of nostalgia?

An interesting point, and actually one I was discussing with the wife the other day as we heard a Def Leppard song which took me straight back to the later years of school in '87/'88...And we found ourselves trapped in a school-based reminiscence wave which basically found us missing the damned places even though we both hated our school years...(One of the many things we have in common tongue.gif )...
