Roger Ro'Jhirr - my latest character, is a thief (so he can go through the TG quests and then Nocturnal's afterward). He's just hit level 12, and has been summoned to Othrelo's house to start the Ultimate Heist.
But he doesn't think he's ready yet. He has the skeleton key, so locks aren't an issue, but his combat skills and equipment are. He only has a plain Dwarven bow, and his chainmail - every piece enchanted, but a motley set of loot items, as he isn't in the Mages Guild and can't enchant his own - is beginning to look inadequate.
His marksman skill is only 62 - plus a 6 point boost from his gauntlets. His blade is minimal, so he needs a lot of arrows to make sure he doesn't need to fall back to a dagger. That makes him concerned about a long drag-out passage through the catacombs, where he'll run out of ammunition and poisons if he's not conservative with them.
He also has no chameleon gear yet. He's relied entirely on sneak skill so far, but will need a boost for the Palace at the end, so he's avoiding the Gray Fox for now, and looking for some better stuff to wear, and a better bow. If he goes to Lake Arrius Caverns and lets the city gates open, he could go and find Hatred's Soul (and maybe recruit Prizna for Gweden). Hmmm......

The story is progressing faster than I can write it, so here is a (very) brief summary: - Niamh has become "altered" as a result of a trigger caused by drinking human blood, and has discovered her origins and nature.
- Subsequent to that she has a little "episode", and is located by Luciana and Bogrum, the owner of the Lonely Suitor in Bravil - (We are currently here writing-wise, see fan fiction).
- Brought home and nursed back to health by Luciana, Niamh seems to be much as she was having taken the blood initially - (although that isn't much of a comfort, to be honest) - however she will not speak of what she has learned from Beldanne; Luciana knows that there is more to come and that Niamh clearly isn't herself any more. She realises that something has happened to her partner on a very fundamental level and that "normal" - (even by Niamh's standards) - just simply does not apply...
- Some days later, having trashed her house, Niamh disappears to The Isles - Luciana guesses this as it's obviously the only place she feels she can be - (this is where the story is).
- Luciana resolves to follow her, despite Bogrum's reservations and advice, because some things just cannot be given up...

QUOTE(PhonAntiPhon @ Aug 26 2013, 09:16 PM) The story is progressing faster than I can write it, so here is a (very) brief summary:[list]
Oh dear Gods do I know that one... ... Aaamywho...I do love the Niamh story very much and look forward to more instalments... On my side, we continued down the Yellow Road, found that inn by the bridge...The name of which I currently forget...Went into that Goblin fort just up the hill from it...Because we'd used so many arrows in there, we farmed the Marauders in...Dear Gods my memory is crap... ...Fort Celdryn...Or is that a character?...The one near Cropsford with the flooded basement...Anyways...Did that, made much money...And then, finally we did the Ayelid ruin called Morehame...YAY!!!...I remember something!!... ... EDIT!!!...Still can't remember the name of that fort...And I forgot to check... Anyways, my thing for this morning is...McWylde found a place called Fort Irony...Across the bay from The Mouth of The Panther shipwreck...I've only been back on Oblivion for 24 hours and I'm so sick of Goblin dungeons...It's as bad as the damned Falmer...Well, technically it's the other way around, I know...But still... Yes, once I realise they're Goblins, I could not go in the places...But there's money to be mined!!...I'm almost a millionaire!!... ... This post has been edited by McBadgere: Aug 27 2013, 06:35 AM

Sun's Dusk 29: Crouching, bereft of all belongings in the darkest region of a Grummite lair, beyond even the lambent glow from the strange subterranean plants, she watches. Increasingly her vision, through her altered eyes, has lost it's definition and the world has become a place of complex glowing shapes and colours, almost but not quite on the edge of resolution. It makes the back of her head pulse and throb. Her hearing is becoming more acute, such that far off sounds of creatures in the caverns that she knows are beneath her are brought to her mind, but all at once and with no filter. Sometimes she feels like her head will explode.
She's making for the Big City, though she can no longer remember why, so for now she just watches. And waits.

Roger Ro'Jhirr is going round the conjurer dungeons looking for Journeyman level alchemy equipment, so he can make poisons that actual do some damage. His Novice gear is not producing ones that get noticed, and he's taking way too many bow shots for each kill. One the other hand, it's helping to move his marksman skill along.
He still has the Dagon Shrine and Ultimate Heist quests pending, but he wants to prepare himself for those first, and he'll most likely do some more of the Gweden quests along the way. Some of those might need new skills and equipment, too.

Lady Saga is in Fort Cedrian this evening.
Shortest update evah! Yeah, I'm going for the record. Still haven't beaten Phon's "Somewhere west of Chorrol" post. Why thank you.

(Some 3 weeks earlier) -- QUOTE "Niamh!" Luciana, uncaring of any danger, ran down the steps; her only desire in that one moment was to get to the figure at the bottom.
She arrived two steps in front of Bogrum who, caught unawares by her sudden move had to bound after her, drawing his shortsword as he did so, "Careful Luciana! You dunno know what else is here!" The other's attention was fixed on the naked figure slumped awkwardly on the floor, half-propped against a corner of the wall and the shadowy bottom of the steps they had just come down. "If she's still here, then nothing else is, Bogrum, believe me..." She didn't look round; "Have you anything shiny?" After a brief hesitation, Bogrum sheathed his sword and drew his dagger and handed it to her, handle first.
Very gently, Luciana cupped her hand around Niamh's chin. She was completely unresponsive and she had to resist the temptation to assume the worst had happened. Holding the blade before the Bosmer's nose and mouth she waited, aware of Bogrum peering over her shoulder, he seemed to be holding his breath.
Finally, the faintest clouding on the blade. Luciana wasn't sure at first but, yes, yes; moisture had formed on the cold steel. "She's alive." She turned to the Orc. "She's alive!"

Roger Ro'Jhirr has cleaned out the Lake Arrius Caverns, but Jeelius didn't get out alive this time. With the City Gate opens, Ro'Jhirr has closed the Chorrol one, so he could collect Hatred's Soul, and was attacked by Eugal Bellete when he went into town after. That gave him the key he needed to finish Silanu's quest.
He's closed the Bravil Gate for Prizna, and the Gweden Lodge is starting to fill. Now Shulassa's there, he started spending more time outside Anvil, and taking lessons from Alawen.
So that opened the gate near the farm, and he's had to go and close that one too. Third gate meant third Ascendant Sigil Stone of chameleon, so with the Ring of Shadows a Dremora gave him, he had the full 100%, and could go through the Palace without having to kill anyone.
So now he's done the Ultimate Heist, become Grandmaster, and started on Nocturnal's quests. He's currently trying to get out of the Deadlands with Cyndil, but he's dangerously short of arrows.

Roger Ro'Jhirr took multiple attempts to get Cyndil out of the Citadel. I'd put five leveled Dremora on the bottom level that are enabled when she's released, and it seemed that she'd always run off and collect the whole set every time we went down there. That meant two or three on one and one of us would get killed every time.
So I had to change tactics. We stopped on the level above and I sniped at the ones we could see using sneak and poison to cut the numbers down before we went there. Of course Hatred's Soul had run out of charge, and I used up my last poison on the third Dremora of five. Cyndil's Bow of Shadows doesn't help the battle when she tries to fire through walls, but she did actually finish off the last one.
I thought I'd lost her on the way down the mountain. You can't go back through the caves, unless everyone in the party has high enough Acrobatics to jump back up the holes, so we scrambled down the rocks. Followers don't pick the best routes, and she took some major falls.
