Had I known it would turn out to be such a big deal, I wouldn't have mentioned Kayla's birthday. She'll be getting a sudden stomachache and spending the rest of the festival in her room. I think I need a break from this place. It's ridiculous now.

Nothing said from anger can ever be constructive. It is a poison and a fire. It destroys everything it touches. I say what is to follow as separated from mine as I can make myself. If it offends...well, that is not my intention. I wish I had the words to set things aright. Sadly, I do not.

There was a mistake made. Of that, there is no contest.

But another mistake was made. We'll call it Murphy's Law.

The original and accurate version goes like this: "If there are two or more choices that can be made the Human will inevitably choose the one that is wrong."

Choice One: Realize there was a mistake, offer solution. Solution is implemented, and the situation is resolved. Everyone is happy, and life and community goes forward in an Harmonious state.

Choice Two: Become angry. Choose to be upset over trying to resolve the problem.

An honest mistake is just that.

I understand that one may lose their temper over them, we all do this. No one is immune.

But consider the nature of what it is you devote so much energy to, before you act upon it. How bad can a mistake be, when compared to the intentional acts that are meant to be hurtful?

How much is there to gain by holding on to this? And how much more would we lose if we didn't let go?

In this, I see that forbearance and forgiveness, are not things to be earned, rather they are necessities. Without these traits, how would we have survived? Both as individuals, and as various communities.

When you find yourselves in this position in life; and you will, for the only guarantee in life is hardship, remember this. When you find yourself pleading for the forgiveness of others, because there is literally nothing else you can do, remember this moment and the fact you offered none.

The totality of a person is not worth condemning over one action.

I'll be the judge here as I am of intermediate age and experience, seeing both the perspectives as an in-betweener of the Generations present and represented in this matter.

Halle Berry. HAWT!

Anne Hathaway HAWT!

I'm afraid however, I will need more time to investigate this matter in private with both women in their respective Cat-Woman costumes in my Judges Chambers.

Immediately.

Yay! Both of them are awesome, especially in cat-suits!

I'll be rejoining the main thread shortly here.

Given that my Char is returning from something deeply personal, I *was* going to have him dressed in black, and have clothing to that effect. The closest thing I could find in MW, and while the vest wasn't supposed to be red, I'll just have it as reversible.

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

YUMMY! Those are my favourite Seth-pics!

QUOTE(mALX @ Aug 24 2013, 04:48 AM) *

If I'm not mistaken, the Poison thread is finished. Abiene and Seth are both at the Playground already, Eyja and Maxical will be waking up there after that last post.

OMG!!!! And I was thinking og joining because of that thread!!! sad.gif

QUOTE(Grits @ Aug 24 2013, 04:35 PM) *

Thank you, Acadian! That's a great idea. Please lock our completed "Mystery of the Poisoned Healer" thread. smile.gif

I'll also put a note in the Player's Guide to help folks navigate, and I'll check with KC about adding a header to his first post in the Playground thread.

Hmmm well a Player's guide would be helpful..I must say I'm a little bit confused, this RP is much bigger than the RPs I'm used to..I RP:ed a LOT some long time ago....

QUOTE(Black Hand @ Aug 24 2013, 10:41 PM) *

It should also be noted that Thals is an NPC, so do with him as you like, I'm just 'introducing' him as it were.

I'll be gone for a little while, so Thals is all you guys. Sethyas and I will be.....in the shadows.

Actually, so long as it's within reason, feel free to commandeer him.

Uhhh? Hope Seth will be back when Serene arrives though....since he's the only one she "knows"

I hope my mess up didn't ruin your Birthday for you, I feel like I f'd everyone up.

Please have an Awesome Birthday in spite of all this, I am sorry. My biggest hug to both you and Kayla, you are both more awesome than words can say <333

minque, you'll find the Player's Guide in the first two posts at the beginning of this thread. If you have any questions I'd be happy to try to explain. This isn't a regular plot-oriented RP, it's more of a meeting place.

OK, I’ve added Serene’s page to our links.

I’ve also added a section “The Village of Weynon” (thank you for the name, Acadian!) to our Player’s Guide. At present Weynon Village’s only entry is Thals Andus’ link (thank you for Thals, Black Hand!). The Village of Weynon will expand, and I’ll post here every time I add/change something on the Guide pages.

Also we’ll eventually have some joint venture opportunities for characters and NPCs. All in good time. smile.gif

QUOTE(Black Hand @ Aug 26 2013, 05:42 PM) *

I've decided to pull out.

My apologies, as I dislike doing things suddenly and especially when I'm pissed. But let me tell ya: I'm seeing red right now.

Edited: Arguing over the internet and all that jazz....

Who said that about you, and why? Don't believe it, Blackie. You were totally awesome, there could not have been a more fun, inspiring, or compelling roleplay partner ever - I haven't seen them if there is.

Maybe I don't know anything about roleplay and how it is supposed to be done either, but I know what I experienced playing with you. It was challenging, tremendously inspiring, and amazingly and awesomely fun.

Don't let the words of someone else ever stifle what you have to offer in your roleplay, please. You offer more than anyone else I've seen on any RP before.

There must be a lot of things happening behind the scenes that I am not aware of.

If you decide to return (and you too mALX) you are certainly welcome.

Sometimes all you need is a little time and space. I know I did, and it certainly wasn't the first time and likely won't be the last time.

I feel like I've missed something. Are we arguing here, or is this a different situation? If I've pissed you off, I'd like to know.

Honestly, i think everyone needs to hash things out, say what needs to be said, then get over it.

At the end of the day, this place is a haven for us nerds, but at the same time, it's the internet.

It's a place where those of like-minds can commune, but it's the internet.

We can make friends and form bonds, but, it's the internet.

We may fight, and disagree, but...internet.

At the very end of the day, does it really, TRULY matter what someone did on a roleplay online? Does it affect your bills? Your job? Your personal relationships? if so, hop off and take a long break. If not, calm down and talk it out like adults.

We're adults, right? we should be able to discuss when we're upset with one another, and hiding the feelings and going "Eh, if I hold it in..."

No. It doesn't work. I feel like if person A has a problem with person B, then person A should let person B know. And if person C happens to be caught in the crossfire of person A's issues, then it makes a big mess because person A didn't take responsibility for their feelings and discussed things like an adult.

Now. In short.

Internet.

This is for FUN.

The fun gets taken out of things when we start acting like big babies.

Now, I love yall. if you feel like I'm speaking of you PERSONALLY, please. My PM box is open.

Here's the new section so far. I think my edit actually worked this time.

The Village of Weynon

Marcus Inventius, Imperial man. Marcus has settled in the Village of Weynon. He is a fine artist and will paint your portrait for a fee.

Thals Andus, Traveling Trader. Thals is a proud if somewhat low-ranking member of House Hlaalu, a Coalition of Merchant Princes that favor the Empire, Money and Trade. Not necessarily in that order. Thals travels between between Morrowind and Cyrodiil with his pack-guar whom he has affectionately named 'Nally.'

I'm just going to say this - not just for mine and Blackie's sake, but for the sake of all the newb RP'ers that have been welcomed to this thread:

If you are on an RP with any of us new to RP'ing - instead of sniping newb RP'ers behind their backs, the experienced RP'ers should be giving us guidance and suggestions. We can't change something if we don't know it is wrong. I would have taken any suggestions very well if they had been given.

RE: Whatever was said about the Poison thread:

Blackie, me, and Grits were the only ones on that Poison RP; If anyone other than the three of us didn't like what we did on there, I don't care. I loved it. Technically, it was no one else's concern whether we knew what we were doing on there or not as long as we were happy.

I've never RP'd before, but to me it was the most fun I've had in a long time, loved it and loved the people and characters participating in the RP.

*

Coming back to the Wobbly Playground opened us up to trying to RP with more experienced RP'ers; so now others would have a say in what we do.

Everyone knows on my first post I made a crucial error, didn't know what to do or how to fix it. I'm a newb to this just like Blackie is. I apologized deeply, and one of the injured parties accepted my apology ( <3 Hug_emoticon.gif ).

Whenever you are dealing with people in a new environment, there will be mistakes made. You all with experience can and should realize that; offer assistance, suggestions, advice, techniques - help, patience, and forgiveness for our gaffs. Like Liz suggested - communicate with your newb fellow RP'ers. We can't learn to do it right if we don't know we are doing something wrong.

Sniping behind people's backs is schoolroom stuff, lets mature it up a bit so the RP remains fun for all, please.

OH!! I think I begin to understand.

What went on in the poison thread does not reflect any standards but the ones of the three who were participating. Much of the character wrangling would be unforgivable to some RPers, which has no relevance whatsoever since other RPers were not involved. We three agreed to wing it, and so it was wung. Mayhem ensued and fun was had by all.

There might be concerns that we’re throwing protocol out the window in the main thread. We’re not.

But in the side threads you players make the rules. No one but you (and our esteemed Moderators, bless you who have to read through all of this!) get to judge.

So I’d say don’t panic until someone crosses the line. Then simply tell THEM about it.

Regarding current events:

Liz, maybe Kayla can find some drunk Nord to buy it for her. Oh no wait, he would have to have some coin. tongue.gif
