Ah, a very nifty spell indeed. Made not so much to cause harm as to draw her foes out. Lothran approves! And yes, Lothran does have a few very strong Destruction spells he can use instead of a bow. But what he canīt do with a spell is deliver poison, plus it cuts back on his Magicka use a bit. But what was Buffy doing in Bruma now? Oh, wait. She came down from Skyrim, wasnīt she? QUOTE(Acadian @ Oct 30 2013, 05:06 PM) She is actually traveling to Cheydinhal with another Lamp Knight however who has some Dunmeri family in that city. This other knight rides a beautiful blue roan gelding.
Pixies? ----- Ever the avid student of the arts of Magicka, Lothran spent yet another day at the university, re-making spells into better versions as well as crafting one or two new ones. Amongst the new spells were Burning Blizzard and Frostfall, Target and Touch based respectively. As one can tell, heīs specializing in Frost based magicks but it might surprise one or two that he didnīt actually major in Destruction when graduating the university at Warlock rank. Oh, and heīs just assigned his weapon of choice for the journey to Bruma. As it has a useful Light enchantment it was the most obvious choice for the darkness the long winter has to offer; Targetfinder. A Dwarven mace also enchanted to do Fire and Frost based damage. While Raven is very fun to play and Mages Guild questline intriguing, I've been with him almost daily in the past two months and I already had a need to create someone new, someone with whom I would play Oblivion in a slightly different way. Raven will remain my primary character but occasionally I'll switch to my new character that I created yesterday. Let's meet him, shall we? Some locations and persons in the update are added by Better Cities mod and as you'll notice, I use a custom start as well. ---------------------------- First Mate Sentza, a Redguard from Stros M'Kai, definitely didn't expect that his life was about to change so quickly and radically. What was supposed to be a routine voyage from the Abecean Sea to the Imperial City, carrying goods and passengers, turned out into something else - not only was First Mate Sentza kicked in his groin, punched in the face but he was also violently thrown off the ship that he was working on! And how did it happen? There really isn't a lot of explaining necessary. The ship captain, Sentza's immediate superior, caught him banging his wife. On his ship. In his cabin. In his bed. Now that he was thinking of it, Sentza was lucky that the captain didn't kill him. Perhaps he would if he knew that he did the same things to his daughter back in Stros M'Kai. So, wearing nothing but a pair of braider leather sandals, belted braies and a shirt with suspenders, he was thrown off the ship in the Waterfront Docks. "And what shall I do now?" thought former First Mate Sentza as he got up on his legs and saw the ship on which he had served for six years, slowly disappearing in the distance, under the large bridge over Lake Rumare, heading back to his home island. "There are many ships docked here...some noble, some poor...I bet they need a helping hand. After all, I'm a man of many talents. But it turned out that Sentza's help wasn't needed. At two ships he didn't even found any sign of its crew so he assumed that they were drinking in some tavern. One ship, elven by design, was too elegant and he didn't even dare to approach it. The last one was populated by hostile pirates, whose First Mate, Malvulis by name, screamed at him and threatened to kill him if he wouldn't leave. "So pretty yet so grumpy. What a waste of potential," thought Sentza as he was hurrying away from the angry Dunmer and her crew. The last place where he tried his luck, was The Bloated Float but its proprietor, Ormil, wasn't interested in hiring him. Instead he told him that his ship is the finest inn in all of Cyrodiil and also informed him that Dovyn Aren still teaches alteration. Sentza didn't understand how could he benefit from this information but perhaps Ormil was just trying to be friendly. "Or perhaps I look like a mage. It could be, why not? I can cast a flare and heal myself. Ha! Not everyone can do that." Not having anywhere not go, not having any idea what to do with himself and not having a single septim in his pockets, Sentza took a walk through the shoddy Waterfront. It reminded him of a small fishing village on Stros M'Kai where he grew up and he quickly began to like the place. He chatted with some locals, most of them acted like he's been among them forever while some didn't show any interest in sharing rumors with him. Not that he cared about it, he just wanted to find some bed or some gold. In which order, it didn't really matter. Not long after, he saw a man lying on the beach. There were bottles of beer scattered all around him, so Sentza went to investigate. It turned out that the man was dead, obviosuly drinking himself to death. "A pity but you won't need these septims anymore, will you, friend?" he said as he took seventeen septims from the dead man's pocket. When he noticed a man with a bandana suspiciously watching him from above, Sentza quickly pretended that he's just checking whether the man's alive or not. "I wouldn't want to be called a thief. Is taking from dead a crime? I don't know, I never read about it. So I guess it's not. By sweet Lady of Wayrest, what's this shining thing over here?" Sentza leaned closer and saw a beautiful silver ring on the man's left hand ring finger. "It looks valuable. Sorry, fella, but if I don't take it, someone else will. So it's better if I do it, just to be make sure that nobody else does." Sentza took the ring and also found a small hourglass in the man's pockets which he took too, after all, it was always helpful to know exact time and date. He hurried away from the corpse, hoping to find a buyer for the ring. But it was getting late, and most shops in the Waterfront were already closed. He tried selling the ring to some ugly Orc innkeeper but she rudely told him that she wasn't a jeweler. He tried his luck with some old Dark Elf who told him that he's retired but still hasn't removed the sign outside his house. Then he tried selling the ring to an Argonian scribe but she wasn't interested in it all, being occupied with forging some documents for some Guild. His last stop was a tavern, led by a lovely young lass named Rosana that was a Redguard too. She wasn't interested in the ring but Sentza'd feel bad if not buying something, so he bought a beer for five septims and drank it while chatting with Rosana. When he came out of the tavern, it was already getting dark and Sentza felt tiredness too. A lot of things happened in one day. If everything went smoothly, he'd been sailing back to the Abecean Sea, sipping good wine with captain's wife but alas, his life on the ship has come to an end. Not that he cared about it too much. "I'll do well for myself. As always. Somehow. Somewhere. Someday." He found an empty cellar with a dirty bedroll under some abandoned house that was in fact not abandoned but was occupied by a man on the lam. Luckily, the cellar was truly abandoned and except a small rat, there wasn't anyone else living down there. "I'm sorry, rattie, but I can't sleep knowing that you'll be creeping over my smooth body." Sentza stepped on the rat and then opened another bottle of beer. He raised the bottle and sang his favorite verse: "Ho hey, sweet lady of Wayrest! Ho hey, sweet lady of mine! Oh I'll see you again, yes I'll see you again, sweet lady of Wayrest so fine!" Then he added: "I wish that you'd watch over me, Lady, just as you did from my birth onwards. Thanks to you, I'm more durable and willing and I hope I'll stay like that." After emptying the bottle, he felt slightly drunk and decided that it was time to go to sleep. He put his shirt with suspenders on the wooden chest, took off his leather braided sandals, blew out the candle and crawled in the dirty bedroll. After long time, Sentza spent his first night on the dry land.

So you have a new character, Lopov? Interesting. Could you give me the bare basics of him cause you know me, I rarely read lengthy updates and a summary paints his picture effectively ---------- A slow day in the Imperial City. Lothran wandered around and spent most of his day chatting with the people and visiting inns; a small indication as to what awaits him when he gets to Bruma He can feel the chilly winds coming down from the north.... QUOTE A slow day in the Imperial City. Lothran wandered around and spent most of his day chatting with the people and visiting inns; a small indication as to what awaits him when he gets to Bruma Has he paid a visit to Dorian yet? QUOTE(mirocu @ Nov 1 2013, 10:22 AM) So you have a new character, Lopov? Interesting. Could you give me the bare basics of him cause you know me, I rarely read lengthy updates and a summary paints his picture effectively Yeah, I felt like I needed to play someone else on occasion. Here you go, mr. Mirocu, just for you an update in your style: ----- Name: Sentza Race: Redguard Birthsign: The Lady PicSentza is a former first mate that was kicked from the ship on which he had been working on, because the captain found him banging his wife. After an unsuccessful search for a job in the Imperial City Waterfront, he found a valuable ring on some corpse but hasn't been able to sell it yet, because all shops in the Waterfront were already closed. He's currently sleeping in an abandoned cellar (under the abandoned house). Other minor things that I've so far discovered abotut him are that he likes beer, finds himself a man of many talents and doesn't seem to be a troublemaker. ----- I've only played one day with him so far, but he seems a funny chap. Just for clarification, the corpse with the ring, shops in the Waterfront and the abandoned cellar are all added by Better Cities. This post has been edited by Lopov: Nov 1 2013, 07:12 PM

Thanks, my GF also likes him a lot, I had to fire up Oblivion today just because she wanted to see him once again. She said that he's much more good looking than the other pale, depressed-looking guy I usually play with. She meant Raven of course. QUOTE Yeah, other than

Oh, I haven't even noticed the contradiction. I have a feeling that he'll be often punished for trespassing. QUOTE(Renee Gade IV @ Nov 1 2013, 09:45 PM) Awesomeness! I am looking forward to his tales Thanks, for you there's a longer story posted above.

QUOTE Lopov, a new character and a pirate to boot! Sorry he got in trouble on his last ship, but that captain should have known better. Part of the pirate code is that you share whatever you bring on ship. . . Today Sentza went for a walk through the Imperial City and met two good-looking women. The first one was Dynari Amnis who told Sentza that the Nine will bless his dreams - Sentza told her that she hopes to see her in his dreams instead of The Nine. He wouldn't mind Dibella, though. The second one was Rochelle Bantien who told him that her husband likes a quiet life - Sentza told her that if she ever wanted to experience something wild instead of a quiet life, she should look for him in the Waterfront. He also met Irene Metrick but she didn't seem to be that kind of a woman that'd appreciate his humor, so he left her alone. After winning two consectuive matches at the Arena, thus earning 200 septims, he celebrated his lucky day at The Bloated Float, but became nostalgic for open seas and his former crew. That's why, already quite drunk at that time, Sentza rented a room at The Bloated Float. As he was sleeping soundly, four figures in dark armor boarded the ship...

Still waiting for my Dunmer Spellsword to fill in the last few details, like his name, before starting, but I fired up the 360 anyway, thinking maybe I could give him a forceful nudge.
Needless to say, it didn't work. It wasn't a waste though, because there was someone waiting for me in that dank little cell in the Imperial City prison. An old friend of mine that I hadn't seen since 2010, on my old laptop. An Argonian, who uses a bow, stealth, and magick. He goes by the rather un-Argonian name of Sal.
Hello, old friend. A soundless voice echoed through the mind of the sleeping Argonian, waking him. He groaned and clutched his head, still tender from the blow. The guard had never even told him what he'd been arrested for, he'd just slugged him with the pommel of his sword as Sal had stepped off the ship he'd arrived on and hauled him off to the prison. Then he realised what it was that had woken him, a voice his ears hadn't heard, familiar somehow, but he just couldn't place it...
Then a voice more mundane, the Dunmer in the cell opposite. He had the unhealthy complexion of a long term prisoner; pale skin, hollow cheeks, and sunken eyes that had long since lost their luster. Sal paid no attention to his taunts, he'd endured far worse as a slave back in Vvardenfell. The Dunmer's voice trailed off as the sound of armoured boots approached. Three armoured figures appeared outside Sal's cell, apparently surprised the cell wasn't empty. Why have a cell you'd keep empty? Sal backed up against the wall as he was told, as the three armoured figures, a female Imperial giving orders, the other two were Redguards. None of them said a word to Sal, nor did the finely dressed elderly man they accompanied. The Imperial woman pressed a nondescipt brick in the cell wall, and a section of it swung open, much to Sal's surprise. As the figures entered the newly revealed passageway, the younger of the two Redguards glanced back at Sal "looks like this is your lucky day prisoner, just stay out of our way". Sal followed them at a distance until they passed through a door and locked it behind them, and was about to head back to his cell when the voice returned wait a moment, old friend, a way shall present itself. And sure enough, one did.
Some time later Sal staggered out of the sewers, still trying to make sense of all that had happened. Whether or not it made any sense, he had something he needed to do.
