QUOTE(Renee Gade IV @ Mar 3 2014, 04:21 PM) Maybe I should get New Vegas, so we're all on the same page. I've never tried NV. It would be fun if we're all out there together. Can 't get it today though. Maryland's in the middle of a blizzard. Do it! New Vegas is amazing (although my love for the game leaves me biased). I've taken a break from TES so I'll be playing NV for a long while. As you may have heard NV is very different from FO3 landscape/enemy-wise. by this I mean all enemies arne't leveled with the player, some higer level enemies are places in certain places as a tool to keep you from progressing, leaving the open world gameplay a problem; but none the less it's still fun to play! QUOTE(SubRosa @ Mar 3 2014, 04:26 PM) Lonesome Dove is a sniper too! She's headed for the prison next in fact. She'd rather have a real sheriff for Primm than give it over to the NCR.
I actually prefer FO3 to NV. For lots of reasons.
Snipers are amazing. Lori is also very skilled with a 9mm but she prefers to keep at a safe distance these days. The main thing I prefer with NV is the companion system. I've never been one to play the game completley alone, and I find the companions of NV have so much more character to them. I also prefer the weapons system.

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Mar 3 2014, 11:26 AM) Renee, New Vegas requires Steam,
Oh, I'll just get it for Xbox. Xbox doesn't require Steam, at least I hope not? I'm playing Skyrim today (snow outside and all that) and I might roll a new toon for Oblivion today too on PC. I'm going to create Renee Gade III today for that game. QUOTE(Rihanae @ Mar 3 2014, 11:30 AM) Do it! New Vegas is amazing (although my love for the game leaves me biased). Sweet! QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Mar 3 2014, 11:39 AM) Aargh! Taking a look in here was a mistake, now I'm getting the itch to dig out FO3 again...
There are no mistakes in life, CT. Yes, you should play Fallout 3. * grins *

Oh, I'll just get it for Xbox. Xbox doesn't require Steam, at least I hope not? I'd advise against Fallout New Vegas on the 360. I had it, and got rid of it. For me it started out with gamebreaking bugs, and by the time they were done patching it it still had gamebreaking bugs, only now half the time it would just freeze up before I could even finish creating a character. It was still buggy, and far too unstable. Of course, not everyone on the 360 had the same experience, but still, it'll either be very good (and it certainly was a good game underneath all the bugs), or it'll be straight-up unplayable.

Yep, this is one of my big dislikes about NV. The PC version has lots of bugs too. Most of it is just silly stuff, like dogs with their eyeballs floating in the air beside their head, or scorpions doing handstands. But I had one completely gamebreaking one. Or at least it would have been if I had not been on the PC. Thankfully I was able to use the command console to get around it. I have been running into a brand new bug this time playing. The game freezes whenever I try to load my most recent hard save. But it loads off the quicksave just fine, and any other hard saves. When I make a new hard save, it won't load off that one. But then it will load off the previous one just fine. Makes no sense to me at all.

QUOTE(Renee Gade IV @ Mar 3 2014, 05:24 PM) Bugs? Yicch. I hate the things!
Well, depending on how much it costs, I'll either get NV or I won't. If it's less than 30 bucks at the game store, I'll go ahead and get it. We'll see.
See what it costs pre-owned. I really wouldn't say it's worth buying new. Too likely to bug out. Now, the problem I've got with Fallout 3 is resisting the temptation to start a female character called Lexa Kimbo

QUOTE(Renee Gade IV @ Mar 3 2014, 05:48 PM) Yes, you should roll that toon, CT. Make sure to buff her stats too. Just kidding. What will Lexa Kimbo specialize in? She'll be a sniper, so; small guns, sneak, repair, and I'll have to boost lockpick and explosives (for mines). Or maybe I'll switch repair and lockpick around... Then I'll be faced with the challenge of not making too many puns on account of her name.
