Last night Lonesome Dove mosied on over to the prison and delivered a little frontier justice to the Powder Gangers. After a long walk filled with shootin' varmints of the two and six-legged kind, she found the Ranger Station and was able to get the new Sheriff of Primm en stated by the NCR. She did a little more varmint shootin' for Ranger Jackson, and in return he gave her a shiny new rifle. It doesn't have a lever, so Dove is not sure if she likes it. But she decided to try it out anyway, and is fixin' to amble on over towards Nipton to see what all the smoke is about.

I just checked Steam, and they want $10 for just the base game, and $20 for the Ultimate Edition with all the dlcs. So it's a decent price.

Yeah, for me in the UK the unltimate edition was Ģ15. which is a bargain compared to the Ģ30 retail proce in normal shops (for the Xbox versian). You get some great additions, such as four amazing quests, a wide selection of new weapons and a raised level cap to level 50.

You know what I love bout Fallout 3? The G.O.A.T. That whole entire part when they have to take the GOAT is hilarious. I forgot how funny it is. There's a lot of subtle humor during this scene.

Like does anybody else notice when the teacher is reading the questions he goes "Oh no!" during one part. That just kills me. And also towards the end he is reading the final question to his class, and he has to look down at a sheet to remind himself to say the right things about the Overseer. The entire time he's doing this, his voice is just 'meh', as if he's trying not to roll his eyes smile.gif

I noticed this when I was playing FO3, was pretty funny! biggrin.gif

Some amazing quests SubRosa! I love the goodies you get from Ranger Jackson... Lori, too, appreciates the rifle given by him.

Last night Lonesome Dove mosied on over to Nipton, and my was there ever a fussin' and a hollern'. Dove cyphered out what had happened from the runner-up winner of the lottery (he of the broken legs). So when she a-seened them thar legion fellers she just let her new NCR rifle do the talking, starting with the one wearin' the dog hat.

Speakin' o' dogs, them legion hounds kept their distance. Dove has learned to keep the peace with most four-legged varmints these days, so'se she don'ts needs to waste any lead on 'em no more.

Well, after them legion fellers was crow-bait, Dove went after them what their cohorts had enslaved. She finally caught up with them a fair distance to the east, and commenced to putting her new rifle to a lot of work. A couple of yankee carpet-baggers was passin' by at the same time, and they was right neighborly enough to lend a few bullets the exchange as well. Though one of 'em found his maker before the end was done. That was too bad, 'cause Dove was hopin' to sell off that legion gear to the feller. Still, she freed the slaves just like Lincoln. Only she was a might taken aback to find out they was Powder Gangers! Sheeiit, if Dove'd knowed that, she'd never bothered in the first place. Oh well, no good deed goes unpunished they say.

That meant a long haul back to the Ranger Outpost to get her gear repaired up good as new, and to sell off her well gotten gains. In fact, Dove made several trips back and forth a'tween Nipton and the station, to get the most out of her sweat and gun-grease. Along the way she stopped to shoot some six-legged varmints in the dry lakebed between the two locales.

Lonesome Dove meandered east from Nipton and found the Gobi Campaign Sniper Rifle. She put it to good use when she found a Legion camp on the shores of the Colorado River. She 'splored a bit thereabouts, and put down some Lakelurks while she was at it. Headen' back west, she found Camp Searchlight, but didn't get too close on account of the radiation.

Heading up North, she came upon a small Legion camp and put them devils down. She found Novac and sold off her loot at the Dino Gift Ship. After talking to Ranger Andy she went and took a looksie at a Ranger station that had been quiet. All she found were bodies, and a taunt left behind by the Legion.

After that she headed east again. This time she teamed up with an NCR Ranger, and rescued a passel o' NCR fellers that the Legion had nailed up on crosses, taking back the town of Nelson while she was at it. Another Ranger came running up after and gave her an emergency raido. Said she could call 'em up if'n she was in a fix, and he and his posse'd would come a runnin'. Dove thought that was right neighborly. At least there is still some honest, God-Fearin folk left in the Wasteland.

I'm also enjoying the updates, SubRosa! Dove made a good shout decided not to waste her time on the Legion Hounds!

My goodness, Dove does seem to enjoy hunting down those blasted Legionnaires!

Well yesterday I installed the Saxxon's Quests mod... and I love it, It adds a bunch of new quests, two new companions; and so much more.

Writing Dove's updates in a cowgirl drawl does add a little something. Those Legion rascals are thicker than flies on a mule's butt! It's hard not to kill 'em! biggrin.gif

Saxon's quests? What are they like, killing the High King, plundering the English countryside? wink.gif

In other news Lonesome Dove continued her meanderings. She headed back to the homestead in Goodsprings and set for a spell, unloading her well-gotten gains and relaxin' on the porch with Easy Pete. Then she was off east again, past them signs warning about the dangerous horny toads. Sheeeiiiit, what horny toads them wuz too! Bigger than a pre war truck, and hittin twice as hard. It was a good thing Dove had her Gobi Explorer with her, and plenty of home made jhp ammo for it. By the time all was said and done about 18 'o them toads was buzzard bait, and Lonesome Dove had opened the road to Vegas.

She mosied on east some mores, and stopped off at the 188 Trading Post to load up on more ammo. Then she clumb up Black Mountain, and rescued a ghoul from the clutches of a neefarious mutant who'd rustled him up for a mechanic. They parted ways, and Dove finally meandered Up North some mores.

She saw a Ranger running across the Wasteland, so's she followed him. They run across one one badman after 'nother, and put those varmints down with six guns a blazin'. In the end the Ranger led Dove to Camp McCarran, in the old airport by Vegas. Dove wandered about for a spell, jawin' with folks, and found a feller with a motherload of .308 ammo. She spent a good bit o' caps on him, but left with near a thousand rounds of armor piercers and hollow points for her Gobi.

She did a bit of 'splorin' afterward. She got bushwacked by some badmen in Freeside. But they learned an old Cowboy lesson. Never bring a pool cue to a gunfight. Afterward Dove even put some lead into a big ole' rat this one little sprout was chasin'. He'll be eaten' good tonight!

Stoppin' off at a Comanchero outfit outside o' the city, Lonesome Dove found they had a .50 caliber Barrett for sale. Made for killin' whole herds of brahmin with one bullet she hears tell. That did look real nice and shiny. But a bit too much in caps at the moment. Still, its somethin' to save for...

I created my second FONV mod yesterday. Simplified Ammo Crafting streamlines the ammo crafting for firearms (but leaves the energy ammo untouched, as I think that is simple enough). I removed all the different types of Cases, Primer, and Powder, and replaced them with just one item for each: Shellcasings, Powder, Primer, and Lead. All cartridges and shotgun shells now use only these four simple components.

So now you can breakdown a .357 round, and make a .308 round from it, etc... It makes everything a lot easier, and gets rid of the two dozen plus crafting items that otherwise clutter up your inventory.

It does not remove the vanilla Casings, etc..., but it does take them out of all the recipes, leveled lists, scripts, and so on. Any container or script or game effect that would have spawned them before, will now spawn the Simplified components instead. But if you had any vanilla components in your inventory or laying around before you start using the mod, they will still be there. They just won't do anything anymore.

I am still playtesting it, but once I am sure I did not miss anything, I will probably upload it to the Nexus. If anyone wants to try it out, let me know and I will email it to you. I can always use more guinea pigs! playtesters. wink.gif

Yesterday Lonesome Dove mosied on over to tha' nor' east. She found Camp Golf, and after a bit of speechifyin', she helped whup some o' the local NCR troops into shape. Headin' out along the shores o' Lake Meade, she saw the big legion fort across the water. That was about as welcome a sight as a radscorpion in your boot! Skirtin' the opposite shore, she put her Gobi to good use peggin' varmints of the sex-legged variety.

Dove tried to lend a neighborly hand to a NCR feller who was trapped in a lakelurk cave. But after she cleared out the ways behind him, the darned fool ran deeper into the cave. He lasted about as long as an ice cube in the Mojave.

Later on Dove came across a pioneer camp at Bitter Springs, and has been workin' on givin' the poor folks some help. She's already rustled them some supplies, got rid of an unneighborly sniper (through more speechifying). Now she's tryin' to get them mores gunmen from the NCR camps around the desert. Along the ways she's done a little bounty huntin' around Vegas too, bringing some Fiends to justice, frontier-style.

In other news, I also worked up a mod with some more food recipes. So far I have Mojave Chili, Wasteland Burritos, Fried Lakelurk Cakes, Deviled Lakelurk, and Mojave Salad. I am thinking of adding a Cactus Smoothie, though I'm not sure what it might do. Maybe add some Action Points.

They're pretty good, actually. Highly recommended.

One of my first mods was a companion called Delilah. She fits perfectly with Lori. Delilah is basically a portable doctor who you have to do quests with to update her doctor status. She also a fairly decent melee user, so I use her as a tank for my more fight-from-a-distance Lori.

Well, Lonesome Dove mosied on down the Colorado, and pretty well 'splored everything there is in FONV, and durn near kilt everything too!

So I rolled a new toon for FO3. Oda Hidetaka is a samurai from Japan's Sengoku period. He is one of Oda Nobunaga's sons, who was also called Oichi "the land's greatest beauty". In my game, Hidetaka is actually one of Nobunaga's daughters, pretending to be male in order to become a samurai. The world thinks Hidetaka died in 'his' teens. But in actuality 'he' was kidnapped by the aliens of Mothership Zeta.

So what I did was take another game save at the Vault exit, and then redid the face, race, stats, and so on to create Hidetaka. Then I used the TCL command to walk up into the air, and went over to the Recon Theta Crash Site. That way Hidetaka did not discover any locations on the map, or encounter anything on the way. Once I was there I let him get sucked up into Mothership Zeta. I just RP'ed that none of that happened, and that he was taken from 16th Century Japan instead.

I spent the last two nights crawling through Mothership Zeta with Hidetaka. He found that after the aliens had experimented on him, he could understand what the other humans onboard were saying. Even though they were clearly gaijin! He also found that his katana Takizakura makes short work of aliens! But the turret guns were more problematic. So he picked up one of the alien's arquebuses and put it to work. She found it less accurate than the ones they had back in Japan though, so eventually switched to another one from Earth, made by a smith called General Atomics (a Laser Rifle). It is the first time I ever completed MZ, and the last dlc I had left to finish. So that was sort of a milestone.

I love the pics of Lori! What is that outfit she is wearing in the first one, at NoVacancy Novac?

She looks kind of like Kate Sackhoff in the pic with Godzilla.

I see she cleans up really nice too. That is a fancy outfit to gamble in. I hope she did not lose it at the blackjack table! laugh.gif
