QUOTE(Vital @ Apr 10 2014, 11:54 PM) Cool.. I still haven't read much of the fan-fic here. It's definitely high in the to-do list. That and writing my own fic.
It's my third time reading it Definitely worth being high on the list. And I'm on my third attempt at writing a fanfic. Good luck for when you start yours. This post has been edited by Callidus Thorn: Apr 10 2014, 11:57 PM

Seconded...Putting your characters you invented into situations that have been inspired by the game, and then magnified or simply altered beyond all recognition is an awesome feeling... ...

Aww, thanks CT and McB for the kind words about Buffy's story. QUOTE(McBadgere @ Apr 10 2014, 07:46 PM) ...Putting your characters you invented into situations that have been inspired by the game, and then magnified or simply altered beyond all recognition is an awesome feeling... ... Quoted for the simple beauty contained in those words, oh Wise Badger. Best of luck to all of us as we navigate the challenges of crafting fan fic.

Well it's the last day of term here, so I'll have lots of time to get some things done over the next two weeks. Do it! Help briing the fanfic section back to life!

And yet I am, and live—like vapours tossed. I long for scenes where man hath never trod A place where woman never smiled or wept There to abide with my Creator, God, And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept, Untroubling and untroubled where I lie The grass below—above the vaulted sky.”

If I'm just reloading when they die then they're an avatar, not a character. @'Rocu: I do not not post-and-run. I am a sometime practitioner of hit-and-run posting. QUOTE You post-and-runner, you.. Bah! I was hit-and-run posting before Vital even signed up. His is the incorrect terminology, not mine!

QUOTE(mirocu @ Apr 11 2014, 05:53 PM) Im good! I just wish you hadnt adopted Vitals, Kobbys and Thornys habit of post-and-run. I wanted to have a chat It's not just a habit. It's a way of life QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Apr 11 2014, 06:26 PM) QUOTE(McBadgere @ Apr 11 2014, 08:45 AM) QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Apr 11 2014, 07:30 AM) Well, if the characters would stopdying and if I stopped making sizable mistakes with the writing...
Well, the "Dead Is Dead" thing isn't going to help in that regard, is it?...Just reload and carry on maybe?... For me, no DiD=no character. If I'm just reloading when they die then they're an avatar, not a character. The same for me. When I first started playing oblivion and morrowind my characters were 'dead is reload' I got one character to an A-bomb from that Around the time I was creating my next character I was exposed to the idea of DiD and since then have never been able to play any other way . I've had a few characters that I've been very reluctant to stop and of course it's never easy just dropping a character. However DiD can be really immersive and add another layer to the game. I can't bare to think of how I would feel if my current skyrim character Ravos died. At level 42 and almost having finished I'm really connected to him, in fact he's maybe my favorite TES character ever. But at level 42 he's practically invincible (while still being fun to play) so it doesn't really matter...

QUOTE(mirocu @ Apr 11 2014, 09:34 AM) I think its more accurate with post-and-run. If you hit-and-run it means you hit someone and then run away but here you just post and run away, you never hit I guess once again well have to agree to disagree, right..? Sounds like a plan... I know what you mean. It makes the whole game feel different. Every fight is literally a matter of life and death for a character. Going back to it simply meaning a reload would be impossible.
