Edit: Oh. My. Goodness. What. The. Hell.

My childhood has been torn apart, shredded, burned and the ashes flushed down a dirty drain. So my friend decided to send me a video named "Shrek is love. Shrek is life."

Do not watch this youtube animation with children in the room, let alone in the same house. It is funny and equally disturbing leaving you wondering what in the world did you just watch. I . . . don't even.

QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Jul 3 2014, 07:22 PM) *

I'm not a nature guy, but yeah, some stuff needs to be left alone, spiders and the like. Wasps/hornets should ideally be nuked wherever they're found in my opinion.

Gotta love lizards though biggrin.gif

Yes, yes she is...

I don't mind spiders. I have many wolf-spiders running about here. They clean the house of unwanted critters like the geckos, too. Yes, I agree with you on that opinion. I hate wasps.

ohmy.gif

QUOTE(treydog @ Jul 4 2014, 01:57 AM) *

As to wasps, allow me to quote Robert McCammon from "Boy's Life" (a great book, by the way).

"Now let me say a few things about wasps. They are not like bees. Bees are fat and happy and they float around from flower to flower without a care for human flesh. Yellowjackets are curious and have mood swings, but they. too, are usually predictable and can be avoided. A wasp, however, particularly the dark, slim kind of wasp that looks like a dagger with a head on it, was born to plunge that stinger into mortal epidermis and draw forth a scream like a connoisseur uncorking a vintage wine. Brushing your head against a wasps' nest can result in a sensation akin to, as I have heard, being peppered with shotgun pellets. I have seen the face of a boy who was stung on the lips and eyelids when he explored an old house in the middle of summer; such a swollen torture I wouldn't even wish on the Branlins. Wasps are insane; they have no rhyme or reason to their stingings. They would sting you to the marrow of your bones if they could drive their stingers that deeply. They are full of rage... If the devil indeed ever had a familiar, it was not a black cat or a monkey or leather-skinned lizard; it was, and always will be, the wasp."

Quoted for truth. There is only one good thing about the wasp and that's that every pest insect species has at least one wasp species that preys upon it or parasitizes it, making these stinging hot-heads critically important in natural control of their numbers.

But everything else said above from the book is right. They're mean, they're nasty and they live by the sting, thus they should die by the sting. tongue.gif

In fact, I never heard of any other insect who were responsible in two plane crashes on separate occasions like the mud-dauber, a type of wasp that build their homes inside the plane resulting in poor readings and then the crash, killing multiple people.

Then I think a lot of you will be pleased to know I have killed a lot of wasps only in the first part of this summer. It must have crossed over to double-digits biggrin.gif

I only kill them if they come into the cottage. I have an allergy and if I get stung I risk having my throat clogged up, effectively choking me to death. So you see, between them and me I always choose me wink.gif

I should, but no.. biggrin.gif

But I do have some in the cottage where Im most likely to get stung anyway. Over the past four years Ive been stung twice but nothing happened thankfully. Used the adrenaline both times and one of the times was pretty interesting. After I took it I sat down by the puter to play some Asteroids and boy, thanks to the adrenaline I got the top score like it was nothing! I hit that spacebar faster than ever before! laugh.gif laugh.gif

You're my new best friend. I heart you!

I've been stung once, I believe. I was walking and out of nowhere I got stung in the arm by a wasp. I knew it was a wasp because there was no bee sting left, just that red burning spot. They just randomly decided to go sting some kid. Nature's greatest assholes besides humans.

True. But I like dragonflies. They get rid of pests like flies. Wasps do too but they sting people . . . and they invade homes!

Very dangerous. I am an animal lover. I love bugs, too. But wasps, man oh man I'd kill wasps whenever I see or hear them nearby. Fire is always good. But . . . yeah, they're bad insects.

Speaking of animals I am dying to get a dog. Preferably two dogs, a male and a female. Once I build the stone wall around my property they'll have plenty of space to play in. I'm looking to get two tamaskan dogs. They are so freaking beautiful! I want one.

I love dragonflies. I have had them land on my chest more than once, and just sit there gently flexing their wings up and down. Beautiful creatures.

And the dogs are fantastic! I have been a dog and cat person since I was little. I still remember bringing our first dog home as a puppy. He peed on my brother during the car ride back! Best dog ever! laugh.gif

Yeah! I use to play with them by holding my finger up and they landed at the tip and just stayed there.

I like cats but not the degree I like dogs. Cats are more independent when it comes to living with a human. They go their own way most of the time, at least that's what I've come to notice. I've always been more comfortable with dogs. Either way both creatures are good pets and the most common animal to have around.

That sounds like a cute dog, haha. What type is it?

Dusty was a Saint Bernard. He grew to be quite gigantic! In the winter my brother and I used to tie a sled to him, and he would run us around the backyard with us holding on for dear life.

Interestingly, that type of wasp is much less aggressive than the common red wasp and that would most likely be the only way they'd cause major problems with anyone. In most cases they won't even attack if you bat at them. Not so with the red wasp, which like Mirocu I am deathly allergic to. The red wasp will attack for practically no reason and is one of the most aggressive insects I can think of along with hornets. These are some of the only insects I'll kill without provocation.

I started running recently too Imp. I actually think it's enjoyable, especially when you get a couple of running buddies.

Good luck!
