Ben is trying to decide which location he should visit next. Dunwich, Rock Creek Caverns, Chryslus Building or Vault Tech HQ. Decisions, decisions... ** And did everyone see this video. Great for a laugh. Fallout/SkyrimThis post has been edited by Winter Wolf: Mar 4 2015, 12:10 AM

One thing I noticed about Point Lookout, when you arrive there the game does a cinematic from onboard the ship, giving you a view from on deck as you sail in. It is exactly like how you arrive in Solsthiem in the Dragonborn dlc for Skyrim. So that is one more thing Skyrim inherited from Fallout 3. Fallout/SkyrimMisa just finished the Dunwich before I posted the Bobblehead screenshot (it was one of those Bobbleheads).

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Mar 3 2015, 09:28 PM) Molly spent this evening roaming the western reached of Point Lookout. She ran into her first Feral Ghoul Reavers there. Yow, are those things tough! They have twice the hit points of a Deathclaw, and do the same damage!
I knew they were awful, but never realized the extent of it! Ghouls give me the creeps anyway, but when they are hard to kill on top of that - Urk !!! Misa went to that detention center that was filled with them, it was terrible!

I've experiment a bit over the years to find a way to make Point Lookout-Mothership Z feel more like the main game. Very is no doubt that the enemies are bullet sponges there, Beth always go slightly mad when it come to the end of a game's run. For me I drop the difficult setting down to easy and only allow my character to have no more than half his maximum hit points. Add a few hardcore rules like limited ammo, weapons and stimpaks and the dlc feels spot on to me. I guess this is more for console games though, mods on PC can do anything, of course! I started this because I love my Terrible Shotgun so much and hate the fact it (and most other weapons) are useless down there. This post has been edited by Winter Wolf: Mar 4 2015, 11:32 AM

QUOTE(mirocu @ Mar 4 2015, 05:52 AM) I never got the Terrible Shotgun for two reasons; I didn´t want to kill the guy and I don´t like that look of the combat shotguns. I always want the traditional two-barrel ones in games, or possibly a pump-action.
I LOVE the Terrible! The three guns that are my absolute favorites to carry in game: Blackhawk; A3-21; and the Terrible. But speaking of Point Lookout - even these three can't take down the enemy in Point Lookout, I ended up grabbing up some local weapons because mine weren't getting anywhere against the locals. That is one tough DLC! OH! Mirocu, it is March! Will you be playing Fallout with us now? This post has been edited by mALX: Mar 4 2015, 03:48 PM

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Mar 5 2015, 07:23 PM) I found the following in the Google Reviews for Point Lookout State Park (the Real Life place in Maryland): QUOTE Despite the Mirelurks and high levels of irradiated water, this is a fantastic place to travel. If you're looking for a nice place to stay for the weekend, head to the Homestead Motel. I had a nice stay there, although some may prefer a stay in the beautiful Blackhall Manor. I found picking the Wild Punga Fruit very fun. Just be wary of the tribals as they can be ruthless. SPEW! From what I read in the reviews, that was probably the best review they got,

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Mar 5 2015, 09:48 PM) Molly has explored most of Point Lookout now. She started by heading west along the beach, then worked her way back east through the swamps. Early on she met Obidiah Blackhall and agreed to get the Necronomicon Krivbekah for him. Marcella turned up afterward and warned Molly to destroy the book instead. Today Molly found the Ritual Site where the swampers had the Krivbekah. Lots of killing ensued. Afterward Molly took the book back to Marcella, only to find her murdered by thugs. More killing ensued, and now Obidiah sleeps with the fishes. Molly still has the Krivbekah, and plans to do away with it once she gets back to the Capital Wasteland.
But before then she still has some unfinished business in Point Lookout. She has learned that there is a downed sub somewhere offshore thanks to all the clues Molly chased down from the Chinese spies sent to destroy it before the nukes started to fly. Molly has already done a lot of swimming looking for it off the east coast. So far no luck. She did find some neat goodies. In fact, every buoy off the eastern coast has something on the bottom underneath it.
Of course once the submarine is found, Molly still has Calvert Mansion to look into, and the Ark and Dove Cathedral.
Misa couldn't get into the Ark and Dove without proving herself first by gathering giant punga fruit seeds. She kind of put off doing it, and hasn't done anything since, temporarily busy in the Homestead room since I couldn't help her get around for the last few days, lol.

Yes Yes! When all is said and done, the A3-21 is the only weapon I ever use to finish Broken Steel. I try to force myself to use other weapons, but that thing cuts through Enclave like butter! For general hunting and raiding I am really impressed with the Backwater Rifle. Just simply a very good gun. And Albino Scorps? Nothing beats the Gauss Rifle. It flips them over on their backs! Thanks for the tips about those buoys, Rosa. Time to go deep sea diving! This post has been edited by Winter Wolf: Mar 7 2015, 02:57 AM

Some of the perks you can get make that Blackhawk indispensable until you go to Point lookout - then suddenly it feels useless and ineffectual, lol.

I love the gauss too. I built my Winter Soldier Cailleach around it. But it has some bugs, like not doing the full damage in VATS. This mod fixes that. I combined it with Gauss DX, which gives it better visuals. But one that doesn't get fixed is that sometimes your bullet will pass right through a target without doing anything. Which certainly makes things interesting!
