QUOTE(mALX @ Mar 9 2015, 02:51 AM) I tried them in a couple places, but never had a single one go off so quit trying.
Just make sure that you back up and keep the mine in a direct line between you and the enemy. It is quite easy for the creature to just miss it if it charges at you on a slightly different angle. Just yesterday I planted a normal frag mine on a corner and waited for the Mirelurk King to come around the rocks. It didn't go off so I had to use a shotty at close range. Checking the mine I still have no idea how he slipped past. Great video. That will teach Dad to lock him in! Welcome back Mirocu. Fallout it is. What were you playing? If you say Dragon Age or Dark Souls I will load up my MIRV.

Thanks! And yes QUOTE(Winter Wolf @ Mar 10 2015, 02:59 AM) What were you playing? If you say Dragon Age or Dark Souls I will load up my MIRV. On the PC Iīve been exclusive to Oblivion with a little Bioshock 2 thrown in, but otherwise Iīve only been playing on my NES. So you can rest your MIRV, no DA or DS here. Though I would kinda like a 3DS...

The old lady saying "There's more where this came from!" is priceless!
Molly made a second trip out west yesterday to collect more bobbleheads. Her first stop was Vault 106, which was already on her map thanks to her trip to Vault Tec HQ a while back. She heard Three Dog talking about raiders around Evergreen Mills, so she went to check it out.
Along the way she rescued a teddy bear from its shopping cart cages. Ooops! You know what that means. But thankfully Molly has plenty of bottlecap mines now. It only took about half a dozen to put the behemoth down. It never even got close to her.
Then it was on to Evergreen Mills. It started out a little weird. One of the traveling caravans was outside, and as Molly approached the merchant ran into Evergreen Mills. He got about halfway down the narrow canyon of the entrance when a raider started shooting at him, and he started shooting back. Molly joined in and dropped the raider with the Blackhawk. Then the merchant when back toward the entrance, and his brahamin came running down to take his place. More gunfire ensued, and the brahmin ran back out. Then the mercenary who guards the caravan came running in, shot a raider, and ran back out! I have never seen that before.
In any case, Molly put her stealth boys to use and sneaked in. She released the behemoth the raiders had corralled up, and sat back to watch the fun. It killed every raider it could reach, and in the end Molly had to finish it off with her axe. More chopping ensued inside. She let the raider trader live, since he said that while the others might want to kill her, he didn't have any problems trading. So Molly was able to sell off most of her raider loot to him. Which was actually rather convenient.
Now I am thinking it might be time to head north, and tackle the Wil Wheaton armory. Molly has a lockpick of 100 now, so she can get that door open down at the bottom.

QUOTE(mirocu @ Mar 10 2015, 03:49 PM) Oooh, proper jealous of fighting the Evergreen behemoth! QUOTE(mALX @ Mar 10 2015, 04:51 PM) You can release the behemoth from up there by shooting the generator out; and he can't reach you from up there.
Thatīs what I did and I had so much fun watching it all from a totally safe distance up above! I was so far away I didnīt even hear anything, I only saw what happened As for me I have earned quite a few caps again already. So much fun! Yes, I pretty much have 20,000 spare bottlecaps to spend already.

How many hours in are you? Where do I get that info? I have done almost zero on the main quest, and since this is a good character have not killed any of the wandering caravan traders. Most of the caps have come from looting in places I've cleared; especially from larger places like Evergreen Mills/Fort Constantine/Fort Bannister/Hamilton's Hide-away/Our Lady of the Super-Mutants Hospital/the Capital building/etc. - selling the take. I've gotten a lot for finding places for Reilly; for selling scrap metal to Walter; and for crafting weapons and selling them. I do wear a wandering vendor outfit and hat when going into Moira's or Rivet City to trade, I think that gets me 10-15% better prices for both buying and selling. But I never buy a 'theme' for my house; only buy the meth lab; the health kit; the juke box; and the work bench. If I get too much money up I buy the ice cold nuka cola machine; but since I like using the perk that changes the nuka colas into Quantums - never use it other than a few to drink. Just like seeing it in the house.

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Mar 11 2015, 02:47 PM) When you go to the load screen and select a save game, it will list the character name, level, and how many hours you have played them. It is the same in Oblivion, and I think Skyrim too.
As of now Molly is level 17, with 56 hours and 57 minutes of play time. She has about 40k caps. I find she makes a lot of money, because as a melee weapon user she sells all the ammo she finds. To her it is just weightless money.
Okay, thank you for telling me where to find it! i did look it up: Misa is level 25; the game time is: 104.15.41 !!!! That is a lot more game hours than I would have thought I had; and I thought she was at level 24 - don't know when level 25 snuck in there! I didn't take any of the perks that up your XP at all, that was sheer dungeon crawling (and very few of them in quests, lol). A lot of that was looking for those Bobbleheads/Keller Family Tapes/Behemoths/and unique weapons or items. Same here on the ammo. I will buy up all of a vendor's ammo in exchange for selling off heavy armors and weapons I looted (so technically not that many caps has changed hands, but the vendor's base amount to work with is connected to how high the transactions go, so it ups their money available if you do that).

I find that the problem is also the main quest. The game gives out an insane amount of XP after each part. I like to hold off as much as I can so as to enjoy those mid teen levels (and not just fly past them). In fact I never got to level 30 until I had played 200 hours. Sorry Dad, you and the water problem will have to wait! This post has been edited by Winter Wolf: Mar 13 2015, 05:52 AM

I use Arwen XPR - Extreme to reduce how much experience points the game throws out. I further modded it to reduce the xp you get for picking locks and hacking computers. I find it helps dramatically to keep from hitting level 30 without even exploring half the map. However, it still does not change the xp you get from finishing quests, which as Wolfie pointed out, can be quite dramatic. You would have to edit each individual quest in the game to do that.

Molly has entered the Pitt. After talking to Midea, she went to the Steelyard. She is my first character in the Pitt to ever have a high enough science to be able to hack the computer outside the supply plant. That activated the four protectrons at the door, and they put on a heck of a show! They attracted all the trogs on the ground level of the steelyard, and I'll be darned if they didn't just blast them all down! That made life a lot easier. It took a while, but Molly found all 100 steel ingots. I had to use the guide on this page to backtrack and find four pesky ingots that I had missed. That got her all of Everett's rewards, including the Tribal Powered Armor. Of course you cannot wear the damned thing without doing the main quest, or Operation Anchorage. I just used the console to give Molly the power armor perk.
