Ben is closing upon 300 hours, the point at which I shall put him into semi-retirement. I am itching to get back to Oblivion with a new character, but will still jump back here to see how the 3M's are doing. Molly, Misa and Mirocu. Over the last few months Ben has completed every task I asked of him. Hardcore Survival rules made things interesting and resulted in around 25 game deaths. Every location in the main game has been done, fun little things like the plunger room and irradiated pool at Takoma, all Behemoths, Keller tapes etc Only about half a dozen locations at PL still remain. He chased down every V.Hard lock and computer he could find, going back to the location when his skill was high enough. Great fun! Yesterday he grabbed the T51b Power Armor, and as a result he now has 85 rad resistance and 85 DR. He is now waaaay overpowered for the wasteland. There is no fun playing like that, although he does sound and feel like RoboCop. Lol. 19 Bobbleheads are found and he is up to the part of entering Old Olney and going into the Powerworks for the MQ. I shall leave that for next time. Only 2 skills are at 100 (Lockpick-Science) and the lowest skill is Repair at 84. This post has been edited by Winter Wolf: Mar 14 2015, 04:43 AM

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Mar 11 2015, 08:53 PM) Today Molly dealt with the big trouble in Big Town. This time out after rescuing Red and Shorty, I used the console command OpenTeamMateContainer 1 to give each of them a weapon I took off the super mutants in Germantown. Then I trained them all in Small Guns. When the muties arrived, the Big Towners were armed to the teeth with assault rifles, chinese assault rifles, combat shotguns, and even one gatling laser. The muties never even made it to the bridge. HOLY COW !!!!! That is Awesome !!! Last time I played I couldn't find the robots to repair, but that was on the 360 so I couldn't do anything about it. I'll have to learn that trick about arming them, that is Awesome !!!! QUOTE(mirocu @ Mar 12 2015, 04:07 AM) I never managed to save Red or Shorty before the muties killed them in their cell GAAAAAH!!! QUOTE(Winter Wolf @ Mar 13 2015, 12:47 AM) QUOTE(mALX @ Mar 12 2015, 11:24 PM) I didn't take any of the perks that up your XP at all
I find that the problem is also the main quest. The game gives out an insane amount of XP after each part. I like to hold off as much as I can so as to enjoy those mid teen levels (and not just fly past them). In fact I never got to level 30 until I had played 200 hours. Sorry Dad, you and the water problem will have to wait! Yeah, I lag really bad on following Dad; Still haven't gone to Tranquility Lane yet - holding off while I do more side and misc quests because the main quest tends to push/rush the player (plus like you said - the ungodly amount of XP they give for doing those quests).

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Mar 13 2015, 05:29 PM) Molly has entered the Pitt. After talking to Midea, she went to the Steelyard. She is my first character in the Pitt to ever have a high enough science to be able to hack the computer outside the supply plant. That activated the four protectrons at the door, and they put on a heck of a show! They attracted all the trogs on the ground level of the steelyard, and I'll be darned if they didn't just blast them all down! That made life a lot easier. It took a while, but Molly found all 100 steel ingots. I had to use the guide on this page to backtrack and find four pesky ingots that I had missed. That got her all of Everett's rewards, including the Tribal Powered Armor. Of course you cannot wear the damned thing without doing the main quest, or Operation Anchorage. I just used the console to give Molly the power armor perk. Aha! That explains how I was able to wear the armor, because I did Anchorage first! Anchorage is my favorite DLC, I love it! HOLY COW! 85 DR? *mALX faints* Olney is a lot of fun both for the vanilla game and for the BOS! Which are you there doing? QUOTE(Winter Wolf @ Mar 14 2015, 12:19 AM) Hey mALX, I had a look at your Megaton House mod. Very cool! The only problem would be the indoor dog kennel. Just imagine the mess if Dogmeat was trapped inside and couldn't use the 'grass' outside. ROFL!!! I was learning how to use Gimp when I made that mod; all those walls were "Gimped" off pictures on the internet of fancy houses, lol. Well, the Player has to come home and walk the dog, or maybe get that Mr. Handy from Georgetown and train him to walk Dogmeat, lol. Thank you so much Winter Wolf!!! I am slowly completing Broken Steel and aiming to rain death upon that pesky Citadel. I have never grabbed the Callahan's Magnum with any character before and are looking forward to trying it out. Ben has left Old Olney until this late stage in the game before trying to sneak in there. Should be fun! This post has been edited by Winter Wolf: Mar 14 2015, 06:22 AM

No problem there! I am just so happy to have you back with us and sharing this moment together. Or is it me back with you? After all you were missing one year, I was missing 2-3 years. Lol. QUOTE(mirocu @ Mar 14 2015, 08:52 AM) Awesome to be a part of the 3M.. Just checked my bobblehead stand and Iīm missing three. Iīm never gonna get the full set since Iīm not doing the MQ and I donīt want to use a guide. Though I have gotten hints from just reading the wiki but I didnīt even intend for that to happen Btw, 477 hours now. Quite far behind Lothran I laugh when I think of all those people on other forums who missed the Bobblehead at Raven Rock. That would make me scream! 477 hours. That is so cool! How many hours is Lothran now?

I don't do the main questline till last if possible, but I would never ever think of not doing it at all because then I'd miss the most thrilling moment in the history of gaming = following Liberty Prime across that bridge. I was on the 360; (I just bought the PC game, have never played it on the PC yet); the 360 controller vibrates with each hit or explosion the Player experiences - it was jumping out of my hand! I could barely hold onto it; was screaming with excitement for my son and husband to get in there and feel the controller - I've never before or since experienced a moment like that in any video game; nothing could ever match it - only one thing ever came close, and unfortunately Bethesda blew that moment by having Fawkes race up to the player and initiate dialogue right then so the whole thing is missed; and that is the implosion at Raven Rock. I may be hated for this by Fawkes lovers, but from here on out I am not rescuing Fawkes because I want to experience that amazing moment when all hell breaks loose and don't want to miss the whole thing listening to Fawkes talking and seeing only his face instead of helicopters exploding and me possibly being able to take the few that escape down. Really wish Bethesda hadn't wasted all the excitement they packed into that moment by sending Fawkes to the player the second they exit, should have had him waiting at the gate back into the Wasteland instead. On the console I can edit the script or place Fawkes somewhere else, but the PC doesn't have that vibrating controller to enhance that moment for the Player; so it is a lose lose on that. I made a mod that put some of the bobbleheads at the front door to Vault 101. Like the Strength one, since many of my characters are not thieves who would be breaking into Lucas Simm's house, or the Energy Weapons one, since they don't always do the main quest.
I got the idea from using some savegames for the faces. But many of the saves started outside the vault, and they forgot to pick up the Medicine bobblehead. So instead of using the console to get it, I started by putting it on the ground by the door. The other ones I mentioned above followed. I really ought to just put them somewhere else in the world. The raised highway north of Vault 101 that is filled with raiders might be a good place for the Strength bobblehead...
In other news, Molly finished The Pitt this afternoon. I don't think it went quite how the devs intended. After meeting Ashur, Molly grabbed the kid and went on a killing spree. After killing everyone in Ashur's palace, she killed everyone in Uptown, then went downtown and killed all the raiders there. Then to the Mill, and even to the very front gate. The only one she didn't kill was Ahsur, because he disappeared after talking to Molly.
Then Molly talked to Midea, and was sent to Wehrner in the Steelyard, and she got the mission to disable the lights and turn the trogs loose in Uptown. Which was pretty pointless, as it was a graveyard already. But Molly did it anyway, and finally met up with Ashur there. Needless to say she cut him down to size. Literally. A few new raiders seemed to have spawned, as there was some shooting at the trogs. Molly lent some long range support to the trogs with her Perforator. Then she finished off the trogs. By the time it was all over she had killed more people than small pox.
Now Molly is back in the Capital Wasteland, in the suit of Tribal Powered Armor. She has some other power suits back home in Megaton, and might try some of those on. Once she decides on what to wear, I think it is time for her to visit the last of the slavers in the Wasteland. Paradise will Fall.

Needless to say Rosa, your girl has very definite views on the evil in the world. mALX- Don't forget that you can use a wired 360 controller on PC. I use it all the time on my set up when I play modded Fallout. And you are so right about Fawkes. They lead you to help him and then ruin that explosion and fly by moment. Mirocu- Man, I am so jealous. I would love to have 2000 hours on one character. My trouble is that I keep building new ones and wanting to try new ideas. Ben is now wandering over to Shalebridge. He is having fun trying out his new v.3 Rock-It Launcher. It does 50 points damage and is a blast. I have rarely used the weapon before as I was waiting for v.3. You should have seen that Regulator cop the baseball straight in the head. Talk about gore! Yesterday Ben came across a Protectron who fell out of a Preservation Shelter. Even the little guy was trying to hide from the human created Fallout. Remember robots, just who is in charge!

@ SubRosa - Now, I never break into Sheriff Simms house. When he enters it around dinner time, I follow him in and then just walk upstairs to the desk and take it. It is not considered stealing, although anything else in his house you take would be. Once I have the Bobblehead, I go back downstairs and talk to him for a minute and then leave. The one in Arefu you do have to break in to take though; and I do feel bad slightly about that since Evan King is friendly to the Player at the time I do it - but the friendship of that whole town is a very unstable one after that quest is over (and sometimes even during it). At some point there is a misc quest that brings you back to vault 101 if you have forgotten the Bobblehead. I usually nab the Bobblehead just before going to take the G.O.A.T. since you are standing right next to his desk talking to Daddy James when that scene starts. On the 360 I usually waited till my lockpick skill was high enough to do that quest so I could open the safe (Mother's favorite Bible verse) while there. The PC game was exciting because as a toddling baby I could console the safe open and nab the schematic (but the cash/caps would disappear from your inventory and any other place you hid it - though I never tried just dropping them on the floor. OMG, Molly went Hatchet crazy in the Pitt! You didn't mention taking Ashur's power armor, lol. That is so funny! Small Pox, SPEW !!! Oh yeah, Paradise Falls! Love going on a killing spree in that place! If you do any killin' in Eulogy's pad, I'd love to see a good screenshot of it !!! Shalebridge has friendly ants? Why didn't I remember that, I've cleared Shalebridge before! I must have known it, just don't remember, urk. Hope you get feeling better, SubRosa! @ Winter Wolf - I am seriously thinking about disabling him while in Vault 87, then enabling him after that awesome scene is completely over and I have finished climbing to the top of that plateau to see all the burned helicopters. Or maybe toggling his AI in Vault 87 after he brings the Geck, then holding that save just in case it doesn't work and he still shows up at the implosion. Oh, there is a perk that changes all the schematics to version 3, I have been considering trying that Rock-It Launcher too; but like you never got it up to version 3 and didn't want to bother in any lesser level. Sounds like fun though!

That's actually the Tribal Powered Armor that Molly is wearing. It looks exactly like Ashur's, but the stats are a little different. You get it by collecting all 100 steel ingots from the Steelyard. Neat about getting the Strength bobblehead that way! I never thought of following him inside the house. I didn't know there was a schematic inside the safe in Vault 101. Or if I did, I forgot! Did you blow up Daddy James with mines too! Unfortunately you can only get back into Vault 101 if you do the main quest. I am not sure how far you have to get before they radio you for help. I think it might be after James is killed in the Purifier. There are two rival ant colonies at Shalebridge. I found them with Oda Hidetaka. The one with the smaller ants are friendly to humans, and the bigger ones are your standard ants that attack you on sight. You can help the small ants by wiping out the big ones. If you have a high enough science or medicine, I think you can actually help the small ants get bigger by injecting a stimpack into their eggs. The payoff being that if that the friendly ants grow big enough to fight off the others on their own, they might take over, and make the Wasteland a little safer for people.

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Mar 15 2015, 02:30 AM) Did Ben find the friendly ants in Shalebridge, and help them fight the evil ants next door?
Yes, I have injected the eggs with a stimpak, and planning to raid the second nest and show them who is boss. In the meantime Ben has now gone on a walkabout and is now looking down at the entrance to Vault 87. Come on- who has the courage to make a run for the entrance to make it appear on the pip boy as a discovered location? If this was a online game I would say- "1000 caps, you go first!" Have you guys managed to give this a go yet and survived? Hot key the radaway is the only hope, I guess. I am itching to try this and see what happens...
