WOO HOO! Molly is way ahead of Misa now. I also started a new character to test out that Vault 101 safe with Mother's fave quote on it; and it did feel fresh, took her to Megaton so Misa could finish out. I love the Raven Rock/Liberty Prime on the bridge/and BOS DLC, so will continue on with Misa; but the lure of starting a new character I def felt and understand.

I am getting tired of playing a melee character, so instead of jumping into Skyrim and playing a melee character again, I am going to stick with FO3 and play my sniper idea. And do the main quest with this one. After a while I just get tired of any single character, and I need a change.

Fantastic news Rosa!! 20 Bobbleheads and the Vault done as well! Ha! I knew that those things were important. In fact that is what a completed character means to me, charging down that final hill and into the depths of colossal radiation. After all Beth has put the highest rads ever in a Fallout game for a reason. I looked it up- 3617 per second!

Interesting that you are thinking about Skyrim. Which of the two games (F03 or Skyrim) is more heavily modded on your current rig?

I will give it a go tonight. Naked sounds more fun though- your hair flying back, the wind rushing past your bare skin, a loud scream of madness crying out from your parched throat! If that doesn't work the power armor will be next. Lol.

Skyrim is far more modded than Fallout 3 for me. I have been playing FO3 longer, but Skyrim has a much larger modding community, so far more mods to choose from. The vast majority of mods I use in Fallout 3 are ones I created myself.

In the end I did the Vault 87 run naked with Molly as well. The armor was slowing her down, and she could still get her Rad Resistance up to 85% without it. Still that was close!

Wow, a naked run for both of you! If this was two years ago, I'd most def try that, lol. With my left hand not functioning, I can't even do the run anymore verysad.gif Oh well, I'll always have the memories of the glory days, laugh.gif

I have never grown tired of having a melee character in TES, but I do in Fallout games - maybe because the gun is available and can end some battles before they begin.

But characters I don't ever grow tired of; especially if they are good for roleplay. I RP'd Maxical from 2005 through to her death two years ago, and would still RP her if I could resurrect her. She went from short stints in Arena and Daggerfall through Morrowind/Cyrodiil/Skyrim/the Wasteland/the Mojave and was a ball through them all.

I've had Misa for 6 months now, she's gone through Morrowind/Skyrim/and now the Wasteland - really thinking of keeping her on in one capacity or another even if I am ever able to resurrect Maxical.

Almost had Maxical back last fall; I found her files on the laptop when it came back from the shop and nearly cried. Hell, I did cry. When the laptop crashed this past January I may have lost them again - have not been able to find them on the salvaged files yet; but haven't had a lot of time to play anyway since then.

Alessia - most def did get tired of playing her, never really got into her as a character or enjoyed playing with her much at all - I started her right after I lost Maxical, and just wanted any character to play the game with. Never got to like her, so had trouble RP'ing with her.

Today I created Hecate. She is a sniper/doctor/scientist. Just like mom and pop I suppose! laugh.gif I have had a lot of fun with her so far. I even followed mALX's suggestions about raiding the safe behind the revelations passage, twice. So she left the vault with a rank 2 Rock-It Launcher schematic. biggrin.gif

Hecate found a sniper rifle south of Megaton, and has been exploring the local neighborhood while looking for dad. Today she cleared out Springfield, and then later the Bethesda Ruins. She is working her way toward Minefield for Moira, but those places got in the way. Maybe her next trip she will actually finally get all the way out there and get those mines.

When she first walked up to Megaton I heard shouting. I turned around, and found a Raider was attacking! Even the water beggar was running around with his fists out. But between Hecate, Deputy Weld, and that guy on the balcony, the Raider didn't stand a chance. Like most of my characters she disabled the atom bomb without really thinking about it.

Thanks to that my first trip to the Super Duper Mart wound up with Hecate being ambushed by not one, but two Talon Company patrols. The upshot is that now Hecate has some nifty black combat armor to wear. I have a mod that adds a set of Talon Armor without the logo - basically just black combat armor. So I turned that on afterward and picked it up, to RP Hecate washing off the talon insignia.

Hecate is busy! Has she tried the Rock-it Launcher yet?

I want to finish this game and then try some face mods if there are any for Fallout 3. Black Misa looks okay from the side, but a full frontal shot is not great; kind of looks like she got punched in the face, lol. The temp Misa I made to test out the rock-it launcher looks better, but I really don't want to change now and miss out on the end game and BOS DLC. So Black Misa is taking this thing to the end.

She is doing Oasis tonight.

No. I would never do something like that. Ben would be too scared that Molly would appear out of the darkness with that hatchet of hers. I've seen what she does to evil people. It would be worse than Friday the 13th laugh.gif

Ben has just switched the radio frequency to Agatha's station, just to make it feel right. However 3 Dog is a mixed bag for me. Sometimes I like him, other times he annoys me. I just wish that he would get the announcements right- first he calls me the worst evil the wasteland has seen and then he praises me, despite me only helping people for my own interests. Has nobody got word back to him yet?

And it is only when I play NV and suffer through the horrible music and DJ's there that I realize how good the music feel of Fallout 3 is. NV got many things right, the music was not one of them.

Exactly! I remember reading a comment at Beth forums about this a few months ago. He went into great detail why the whole ghoul quest was the worst quest ever written in any computer game. I did have to agree.

Hey Mirocu, just a question off topic I was thinking about while I should have been working today- After 2100 hours with Lothran, what level have you got on mercantile. I have never hit 100 on that skill and wondered what score in could possibly be after 2000+ hours?

Ben is now in his last 10 hours before semi-retirement and is having fun with the end of Broken Steel. Without wanting to ruin it for you guys I need to ask- Have you Rosa or Mirocu finished it with a past character?

Actually I have adjusted his Mercantile skill with the console. I pushed it down since I didn´t like being able to sell anything to anyone or investing. And I did this adjustment after having spent hours selling arrows one at a time to get it up! rollinglaugh.gif rollinglaugh.gif

Almost finished with all the b.s.? About time! biggrin.gif

I did finish Broken Steel with The AntAgonizer. It was fun, and suitably epic. I loved riding in the vertibird with the Lyon's Pride. I even did the little side quests with the Aqua Pura.

He called me scum the other day for killing those ghouls in the Warrington Station; but then went back to praising me for saving Grayditch - which was done way at the beginning of this game, lol.

Really kills me that they give you bad karma for killing the ghouls; and 3 Dog talks bad about you publicly for it - but if you do that quest any other way the ghouls take over and kill all the other residents. You are supposedly good for siding with the ghouls against the residents, (and letting all the residents get murdered by your decision); but you are considered evil if you side with the people and save their life - that makes no sense to me.

The way Bethesda did that quest makes no sense whatsoever to me; so I just do what is best for me in it, regardless what 3 Dog says about me for it. And now that I've found a way to have a home there and at Megaton, really glad I did. Did not want to live in a placed with dead bodies in the basement and surrounded by the ghouls that put them there.

** That music in NV is actually right on for that area of the US back in the day; just like the music in Fallout 3 was correct for back in the day for the DC area - but it is all some kind of time warp thing, because the music and clothes are from @ the 50's, but the setting of the game says it is in the future from our present day - kind of like an alternate reality of our own world.

Whoever thought that up was brilliant; because we can see these things/hear these songs in our own history before the game came out; so it all rings true.

I usually just never do that quest one way or another, because of how backwards it is. Sure, the Tenpenny Tower residents are racists who hate ghouls, but that hardly justifies killing them all. If you had been able to talk them into letting ghouls in, and then it ended there with no one being murdered, it would have been a great quest. Hmmm, maybe that could be fixed by modding the quest?

I am not a huge fan of the 50s music either, but as you said, it fits the setting to a tee in both games. I do especially love how FO3 used "I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire" in it opening titles. laugh.gif I have thought about replacing the songs with other music in FO3, but could never bring myself to actually do it. It just would not feel right, even if was songs I liked better.

That alternate future you mention is one of the neat things about the Fallout Universe. It is like the world never evolved past the 50s, even though in reality over a hundred years went by between then and the Great War. Everything is big, nuclear energy is everwhere, it is like a visionary's idea of what the future would be like, if that visionary lived in 1950. There is a neat (and chock of of info) article about it on the Fallout Wikia.

If I haven't given you a new email since last September, then the one you have for me won't work anymore; I'll PM you my new one. (And hope like heck you haven't emailed me since it was changed; a lot of people did and got upset when I didn't answer).

Oh, I agree 100% on that karma being really screwed up on that quest, they give you goodkarma for killing Gustavo and Tenpenny (!); and bad karma for killing the ghouls threatening and harassing them! What sense does that make?

Then you get good karma for running residents out of their own homes they paid for and helping ghouls slaughter the rest; and even after the ghouls have killed the residents, if you kill them for it you still receive bad karma! - that is pretty messed up.

Ever since the first time I tried to do a peaceful mediation and found the ghouls had killed all the residents and taken over the building, was not ever going to go that way again. I've been killing the ghouls every time since then; and if I don't like taking the karma hit I'll just donate to the Rivet City church to get my karma back up.

Also, does anyone know if 3 Dog ever brings up the ghouls killing the residents if the Player goes with the peaceful negotiation? I might be remembering wrong; but I thought he blamed the Player for the people being killed. (so it was an issue where you couldn't win for losing no matter how you did that quest).

** Oh, and on the Rock-it Launcher - yeah, I mean you can't carry all that junk as ammo with you, it weighs too much. If you happen to be in the place where the Burnmaster is, they load you up with enough junk to make a couple Rock-it-launchers and have a bunch of junk leftover - so you can test it out, but it is up against feral ghouls, which give me the creeps - and not sure how you pick the ammo, don't want it wasting some of my junk I collect like teddy bears or Nuka Cola trucks, etc. So I've actually never shot it either.

I don't think 3 Dog ever says anything bad if the player takes the ghoul side in the Tenpenny quest. I guess he thinks genocide is fine, so long as the victims hate ghouls...

I just took a look on the Nexus, and there are several mods that semi-fix the quest so that the humans don't all get slaughtered. But it looks like in all of them the human merchants all leave the tower, which I don't really want.

I found a mod that is supposed to prevent the Enclave troopers from spawning before you go the Purifier with Dad. I am going to try it out now, so I will see how it works.

I only had three spawns before going to the purifier with Mac Daddy James; only 1-2 troopers in each; but I was really glad to get them because they introduced some great power armor and weapons early on when I didn't have much to work with. Anchorage gave me the Power Armor training perk; so was able to wear it.

They didn't spawn the Deathclaws though, which was good because I couldn't have handled it back then.

Here is a weird thing that happened to me in this game - I've never seen before, but then again I never had the animal perk before. I've got rank two of the animal perk this game - first time ever taking that perk in any rank.

Misa has been hunting the Enclave grid by grid going to all their camps and slaughtering them. The ones with modified (or feral) deathclaws in cages - she has been sneaking in (in chameleon) and releasing the Deathclaws first; then staying hidden in a relatively safe spot.

Well, when she releases the deathclaw, it immediately kills all the Enclave first, but then it attacks Misa! Is it supposed to with that animal perk? Either way, it is a lot of fun and the Deathclaw is usually in low enough health by the time it attacks her that she can take it down.

I like to blow the helicopters out of the sky when they are bringing troops in, and this game I've caught all but one helicopter of the ones that showed up. (The helicopter at the Scrapyard didn't show up this time, I'm not sure if it is because I haven't done the Dogmeat quest yet).

I learned not to try it with the missile launcher like the game Wiki suggests; was never able to get more than two down using it or the Fatman - I brought them all down with Blackhawk; which is much more accurate (for some reason) and does a perfect job of igniting an explosion no matter where the bullet hits.

Ben is now in his last 10 hours before semi-retirement and is having fun with the end of Broken Steel. Without wanting to ruin it for you guys I need to ask- Have you Rosa or Mirocu finished it with a past character?

Gaaaah! You don't want to know if I did? ohmy.gif verysad.gif

Well, I did finish it in the past, with Wasteland Maxical, lol.

The Animal Friend perk doesn't affect all the animals in the game. I think Deathclaws are one of the kinds that it doesn't change.

However, even without the perk, there is one Deathclaw near the end of Raven Rock that you can let out of its cage, and it will rampage and kill all the Enclavians around. But it doesn't go hostile toward you.

You'd better PM me your new email. I don't think I have it.
