No no, Renee dear - I just can't read more than a couple sentences without a whole lot of issues since the stroke, so I just look at the pictures for right now. I was trying to read like normal when I first came back, but it was an exercise in huge frustration.

As for me I´m still doing the same thing so no need for details. I´m not gaming so much now though since I´ve moved up to the cottage, but I still get some gaming done on Fridays

I'm gaming with Cho again today, he just discovered Tenpenny Towers not long ago. He's completely infatuated with this place. But today's update will be from an earlier game session, when he was on his way to Rivet City for the first time.

Cho here. On my way to Rivet City. Marge and Joe stayed behind, went back to Megaton. Which is okay. Joe is [censored] useless, and Marge has different goals than I do. We talked about this extensively, our goals, what we aim to do out here in the Wasteland. I need to find my father. Case closed. But she's not ready to head so deep into downtown D.C. And I understand this. There's no animosity. We'll certainly see one another back in Megaton for sure. Break.

Anyways, supposed to go to Rivet City. Supposed to go there and talk to people that live there. Why? I don't know. I've just about given up on Moira's odd sense of logic. Heh. Last time she sent me off, she wanted me to [censored]ing injure myself. Yeah. That's right. You heard right. She wanted me to come back to her all beat up, so she can do one of her 'studies.' Break.

But she pays caps. She pays [censored]ing good caps, too. I need those caps. Break.

In case whoever hears this message someday doen't know what I'm talking about, caps are money. The people of the Capital Wasteland use bottle caps for money. Long ago, way before the war, nobody even cared about bottle caps, apparently. They all used paper money, and metal discs too. Called these metal discs *unidentified word*, spelled C O I N S. Back then, bottle caps were worthless. They couldn't even be collected for money, even though back then, Washington D.C. did have some sort of 'bottle law'. You find a bottle, turn it in to the government, and you'd get paid a few coins for doing so. In other words, you could get paid for bringing a bottle back to an official bottle return depot. But bottle caps? Worthless. Not even worthy enough to return in the goverment's recycling programs. Break.

Nowadays, it's all about the caps. People use caps for money. And it's the bottles that are damn-near worthless. Go figure. Break.

Anyways. Headed to Rivet City, but there's some [censored] super mutants blocking my way, so I snuck down some stairs to add to my journal. Got to find some way to deal with the super mutants blocking my path. It's day light. Maybe I can get them at night. Break.

Screw that. One thing about super mutants. They're big. Yah, real big. And they carry big weapons. But they're stupid. And easy to hit from a distance. Hit them in just the right spot, and they can be just as lame as a raider. Break.

So screw that. I'm going up there now. Grab my hunting rifle and get comfortable.

I loved Cho Zen Wan's observations on bottles having once been valuable, and caps worthless, and now its the other way around!

It's true though, isn't it? Caps are worth something, bottles are not, but in modern times the reverse is true, depending which state you live in.

Hey. Just arrived at Rivet City. This place is amazing. Huge. A gigantic old war ship. Not what I expected at all. Break.

Nice to be somewhere safe. I don't know how to say, but it's tough out here in the Wasteland. One can only feel completely safe and relaxed in two places: Megaton, and now Rivet City. ... I hear people. Somebody talking. But I don't see anybody. And hold on...just found some sort of old filing cabinet.

Look at that picture I just took. At least, I hope the other app we installed is also working on my Pip Boy. Supposed to take pictures we can look at later on, on the computer. But look at that. They live on THAT gigantic old ship. That's what Rivet City is, a giant ship. Place is so big, I had to break it up into two pictures.

I really, really like Cho's descriptions of fights from his Pip-Boy. His observations about bottle caps and C O I N S are appropriate too, if someone finds his Pip Boy some day and listens to his entries. Hopefully this won't happen, though.

Rivet City is a great town, my favorite in the Wasteland, both Capital and Mojave. They did a good job with it and its residents, almost each of them has its own story. Nice pics too, particularly the 2nd one, I like the sky over the Rivet City.

I like Rivet City too It´s a fun place and a good place to prep for Point Lookout. It´s what I did before I got there and also it´s when I arranged the shopping carts nice and tidy. Only to have them thrown around again. Guess they don´t like tidiness on that ship...



Love the Recording app on and off

I like when Cho cuts off the water-beggar in mid-sentence, by turning off his app.

Cho went into some weird underground place not long after visiting Rivet City. Turns out, they wanted him to get into some sort of pod, and mentioned Anchorage. Well...Cho wasn't very interested in this thankfully. And I'm glad because I have heard that Operation: Anchorage is pretty tough.

So, as we will see, he stays in the Wasteland. Eventually winds up discovering Tenpenny Towers, which was pretty neat.

Anchorage is one of my all time favorite DLC, it is a ton of fun! And the Chinese Stealth Suit reward actually makes your character invisible when you crouch; (which can come in very handy at times).

After defending Goodsprings from Powder Gangers, Sand decided to spend the night watching over Goodsprings in case bandits came for revenge. Of course this doesn't happen in the game but occasional bandits can spawn close to Goodsprings. Well as it happened, Sand checked the area south of Goodsprings which seemed safe and as he was walking back to town, I was slowly turning the camera around as I often do when walking and I spotted a Powder Ganger walking behind him, a gun in his hands. Sand turned around, switched his varmint rifle for a 10 mm pistol and killed the Powder Ganger. All in all, it was very appropriate that the bandit appeared when and where he did, because it really seemed like Powder Gangers came for revenge or wanted to check why their buddies never returned.

I have noticed even in the vanilla game sometimes some random enemies can show up, even if we've already cleared that cell. OTOH, there are also plenty of times when there's just NOBODY or nothing around, which is soooo spooky sometimes.
