QUOTE(Lopov @ Jun 24 2015, 04:30 PM) QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jun 23 2015, 12:28 AM) Wow, a Cazador at low level! That is a death sentence. Joe is lucky to have survived that! Yes, he's lucky, as said, I was grateful that his STR and Melee were high because he was able to perform the Grand Slam attack which knocks enemies down and incapacitates them for a while. QUOTE(Acadian @ Jun 23 2015, 01:13 AM) Glad that Joe and his shovel came out on top. : Shovel can be useful not just for digging but also for killing flying bugs and raiders, it seems. QUOTE(Winter Wolf @ Jun 23 2015, 03:03 AM) If I encountered those guys in Goodsprings I would just leave the game right there. I regularly had a Giant Radscorp pop up there and lay waste to the town, and that was bad enough. Cazadors, no thanks! I had Radscorpions arrive in Goodsprings too though mostly it was my fault because my way too self-confident characters shot at them from the graveyard. Joe, on the other hand, didn't do anything to provoke Cazadors. QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jun 23 2015, 03:25 AM) If that Bighorner stays in his house, Joe is going to need to use that shovel for something else soon... See, it's a multifunctional tool as I said above. After the cazador was no longer a threat, a different kind of pests attacked Goodsprings - Powder Gangers, ex-convicts that took over the prison they were incarcerated in. Needless to say, Joe Burg put his shovel to good use again: Joe Burg vs Joe CobbBig Joe and little Gangers"Gonna shovel all of you!"Last one bites the desert dustThe next day Joe came upon " desperate" Barton Thorn. His GF was apparently kidnapped. Joe immediately headed up the ridge to find the girl, got bitten in the ass while doing so, but in fact Barton tricked him. Betrayed, Joe showed no mercy for Barton and shoveled him to death. These are so great, I can't get over him still using the shovel - he is the Molly Hatchet of the male set! These are awesome shots, I didn't remember that quest till you posted these! Did Joe get the stash? Lol. Great update! QUOTE(Lopov @ Jun 22 2015, 03:07 PM) Probably because of Hall of Face mod which makes faces and eyes HiRes. Though in general faces differ a lot when viewed at different kinds of light, sometimes they look great but sometimes outright horrible. Light in Doc's house is fortunately appropriate for taking screenshots. Well, yesterday's session was shocking in its own way because a cazador came to Goodsprings! For those not familiar with FNV, cazadors are a high-leveled flying menace, probably the most deadly creature after deathclaws. They can easily kill a low-to mid level player and are a challenge even at higher levels, especially in packs. Not only they have a powerful bite, they poison you and tear your armor apart. It happened for the first time that one came to Goodsprings since they normally don't leave their hills north of the town but UESP mentions a possibility of them attacking the town. As soon as we spotted it, I knew that Joe will have to kill it else the beast would slaughter the entire town. It already killed one resident and one bighorner. Though by the time the fight started, I was grateful for two things: 1) that Joe's strength is 9 and that I boosted his Melee when he leveled up 2) and that he had around 10 stimpaks and one super stimpak, freshly looted from the abandoned schoolhouse. Nonetheless, the fight was still difficult. Caza of course poisoned him immediately but Joe's hands are heavy so he managed to bring Cazador down so it didn't fly up for some time and then whacked at it like mad with his shovel. He injected the Super-Stimpak and then visited the Doc to cure him of poison but while the old Doc could save his life by removing a bullet from his head just a few days ago, he couldn't cure his poison nor did he have any antivenom for sale. Still, he restored Joe's health and when the poison finally wore off, Joe had about 1/4 of his full health. And now enough talking: Caza comes to townEye to eyeFlying menace gets killedThis smart bighorner saved his own life by hiding inside the house "Yup, that's my work."HOLY CRAP! I have never seen a Cazador come into Goodsprings, that is horrible! I can't believe you were able to kill it with a shovel! That is amazing !!!!! I think they are deadlier than Deathclaws, because they usually roam in packs! How long will their poison last? These shots are amazing, I can't believe you were able to take screens while fighting for your life!!!!

QUOTE(Acadian @ Jun 25 2015, 01:32 AM) One nice thing about a shovel I should imagine is that it doesn't run out of ammo. Definitely, that's one of its biggest advantages. Joe's Ammo section in his PipBoy is completely blank, he only uses guns to blow up mines but then he puts weapons back or sometime sells them. QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jun 25 2015, 01:54 AM) Joe Cobb = "And a crashin' blow from a huge right hand Sent a Nevada fellow to the Promised Land, Big Joe" Joe is really shoveling out the sheite in Goodsprings! He needs a construction hat. I think one of the dlcs adds one. Great epitaph for Joe Cobb. I think that construction hats are available by default, workers in Sloan wear them. QUOTE(Winter Wolf @ Jun 25 2015, 08:26 AM) Many things annoy me to death in NV, and one of them is the start of the game. However, the little side quest to help out Barton was really neat and I always enjoyed the change-up at that point. I agree, I like the mini quest involving Barton. I still vividly remember it when I did it for the first time with my very first FNV character Dyvanche. I was a total n00b back then, I didn't play FO3 before FNV so everything was new to me, I was barely getting used to the game when Barton came up and started shooting, I was both fascinated because of the plot twist but afraid that he's going to kill me. QUOTE(mALX @ Jun 25 2015, 08:15 PM) These are so great, I can't get over him still using the shovel - he is the Molly Hatchet of the male set! These shots are amazing, I can't believe you were able to take screens while fighting for your life!!!! He took some food from the stash up the ridge but he left weapons and ammunition untouched. I don't know how long their poison lasts but it seemed very long to me as Joe's health was slowly lowering. I dared to take the pics because I had a good feeling about the winner. QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jun 26 2015, 01:11 AM) Yes, it's Persephone! She looks good in Springvale, though somewhat lost. But she quickly found her way around it and found the place in need of cleansing. Screenshots when we show our characters and enemies behind the corner, are among my favorites, glad you pictured winding up and cutting down. The headless raider probably wasn't any prettier when he was still alive. Did the girl in the last pic really think that she can beat Persephone with her lousy Chinese pistol? -- Having left Goodsprings behind, Joe headed to Primm, stopping along the way to admire some pre-war panels. Peace didn't last for long, though, since Primm was taken over by convicts and the NCR wasn't in a shape to protect them, though there were plenty of soldiers marching around, hoping for nuclear winter. Well, unlike the NCR, Joe couldn't just stand and watch as convicts control Primm and endanger its residents, so he took the shovel from his back and the party began! Unfortunately convicts killed Daniel Wyand, a fellow courier whom Joe knew for a long time. In the end he brought law back to Primm (the town's sheriff was killed by convicts) and he chose someone devoted to the town and about as intelligent as himself. Residents of Primm weren't exactly thrilled because of the new sheriff but in the end any law is better than no law. Right is the way to go"That's good to know" thinks gigantic Joe"I wish I had this car""Now I'll shov...show you!""And all of you!"Convict beware! Someone's behind the dumpster.Well...you've been warned.R.I.P. Daniel WyandPrimm's new sheriff

When I first read "peace didn't last long" after Joe was reading the pre-war billboards, I was thinking you meant peace before the Great War. A new sheriff who is no more intelligent than it's residents? Did Joe make Primm Slim the new lawman? I love the pics of Joe admiring the billboards, especially the car. Then it was shoveling time! Does that dead courier outside the Mojave Express have a name? I guess I must have forgotten... Yee-haw, Primm Slim is the new sheriff! I never made him sheriff in any of my playthroughs. My characters always went to the prison and got a pardon for the other sheriff.

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jun 26 2015, 08:56 PM) QUOTE(Acadian @ Jun 26 2015, 06:32 PM) Big Joe roaming the desert, then sorting out Primm. First thought that entered my mind when I saw the RIP shot was the idea that Joe should rip that stop sign out of the ground - you know, as an upgrade for the shovel. What a brilliant idea! There is a Rebar Club, that is just a piece of steel rebar with a chunk of concrete still on the end... But those shots with Mr. Burke had me rolling, Is that a pool cue she is wielding? Wait, I've never seen that stash before !!! Where is it? Or is that part of a mod? It is so exciting to see you back in the Wasteland! I'll be leaving Point Lookout soon, I'm on my last quest there and then will be coming back to find Persephone! By the way, I did something particularly for you and Acadian - or maybe I should say Persephone and Buffy - Maxical went to the cave and posed with that goblin in the barrel, lol. I'll post it as soon as I get caught up on commenting all the posts I've missed the last few days, lol. Awesome update !!!! This post has been edited by mALX: Jun 27 2015, 03:15 AM

So good that Wasteland Justice reached Mr. Burke, if Simms had to take care of him alone, he'd be dead. Persephone did more than just disarm Sam Warrick, she dismembered him. Nice to see her sneaking with one of Primm Slim's East Coast relatives. Persephone blends well with the billboard - the adventures of Captain Cosmos, the Space Monkey and the dead girl from the past. That shotgun sure is big! What's the story with all those crates behind her? QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jun 26 2015, 08:35 PM) Does that dead courier outside the Mojave Express have a name? I guess I must have forgotten...
Yee-haw, Primm Slim is the new sheriff! I never made him sheriff in any of my playthroughs. My characters always went to the prison and got a pardon for the other sheriff. Yes, he has a name and his body never disappears so I used the "markfordelete" command on him, pretending that Joe buried him. It happened rarely that Primm Slim was made sheriff in my games too but it just seemed right for Joe to do it. The robot was really kind and told him the entire story of Vikki and Vance so Joe had to return the favor. That's actually what happened later on, Joe switched his shovel for a rebar club when he found one at REPCONN. QUOTE(mALX @ Jun 27 2015, 04:14 AM) Oh, that girl's outfit was adorable! QUOTE(Winter Wolf @ Jun 27 2015, 09:23 AM) Joe extends his personal way of up-front introductions to Primm as well. Look out the Legion, you guys are next! Which is exactly what happened. After he brought law back to Primm, Joe Burg continued south where he came upon a diary of some Mayor Steyn from Nipton, who apparently conspired against the NCR with the Legion. Joe wanted to warn the NCR of the imminent danger, so he hurried to Nipton, fighting raiders along the way, but it turned out that he came too late - Nipton was hit by the Legion and they hit it hard. Joe loses his temper rarely but after he saw what the Legion had done in Nipton, it was time to use his trusted shovel. You killed Vulpes Inculta with a shovel? Where is a bowing down emoticon !!!!!! That road over to Nipton - I've been killed on that road so many times - not by that gang in the building, but by the darn ants and radscorpions that attack in a swarm along that road between the two dry lake beds. This was an Awesome update! I can't get over how much Joe is able to do with just a shovel - and still in his Vault uniform, which has no protection rating at all, does it? Amazing !!!
