QUOTE(treydog @ Jun 28 2015, 04:58 PM) Trey fought his way through Murder Pass and into yet another Vault.
After giving Colonel Autumn the only answer he deserved in regards to the Project Purity code, Trey is on his way to meet the mellifluous "President Eden". Murder Pass is one of areas which I have yet to explore, so far my characters made it to Vault 87 directly by repairing some computer IIRC. But the name of this pass is so intriguing that I'll have to explore it one day. I know what he said to Col. Autumn! QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jun 28 2015, 10:00 PM) I love the Deathclaw near the end that you can turn loose upon the Enclavians! It's Ant Agonizer! What a great shot! Do you have any pics of her unmasked? QUOTE(Winter Wolf @ Jun 29 2015, 08:03 AM) I have got a NV question.
Next time I make up a new character which followers do you folks recommend I use?
I have only played less than half the game and I think I have only used Veronica, EDE and Rex.
Are the others really good to use as well?? It mostly depends on what will your PC be skilled with. Boone is a master sniper, sometimes he makes things too easy because he spots enemies from very far away and kills them almost instantly. On the other hand, he can get attention of some powerful creatures this way which attack in packs (for instance, he began shooting at deathclaws close to Harper Shack and suddenly 4 more appeared). I didn't like keeping him around because he makes things too easy but he has an interesting backstory and a quest. My favorites are ED-E and Rex, just because I prefer non-human companions more. Especially ED-E, he's really cute, even more than Rex. However, Rex seems to me the weakest companion and can easily get down even by some low-to-mid leveled enemies. As mALX says, Veronica is a blast with some powerful unarmed weapon and has an interesting quest to go with. She's also related to Elijah from the Dead Money DLC, which makes her somewhat more important in the Courier's life. Raul is a good gunslinger and an even better repairman, I used a mod that allowed him to repair my stuff for free; it makes sense, since you save his life and why would he charge for services afterwards. I don't have any experience with Arcade and Lilly, since I've never hired them. Though Joe might hire Lilly if the two ever meet since their intelligence is at about the same level. I have been rolling since I read Lopov's comment here - realized that you did that HUGE tough "dungeon crawl" as the Ant-Agonizer !!!! That is Awesome, that armor barely protects you! Amazing !!!

She was named Dot before taking on the mantle of the AntAgonizer, and using the Power of the Ant for good. According to some people, she was even Ant-Tastic!QUOTE(Lopov @ Jun 29 2015, 09:40 AM) I don't have any experience with Arcade and Lilly, since I've never hired them. Though Joe might hire Lilly if the two ever meet since their intelligence is at about the same level. Annie Ley Oak briefly teamed up with Lily, to clear out the Nightstalker Den near the Super Mutant Hotel Jacobstown. Lily was very handy. She is good in both melee and ranged, and if I recall, she was good at sneaking too. QUOTE(mALX @ Jun 29 2015, 03:48 PM) OMG, how did I not see that? I use the AntAgonizer Upgrade and Fix mod which gives some nice bonuses, including making Ants friendly. I also use Higher Quality AntAgonizer Costume adds high def textures for the Ant Suit. This post has been edited by SubRosa: Jun 29 2015, 09:14 PM

Ooh, that "Ant Power" sounds great! If I had that, I wouldn't mind wearing the costume all the time! Especially having the ants friendly! Hey, I wonder if the ants in Grayditch are affected by that?

Trey met Liberty Prime... and followed his path of destruction (and anti-Communist dialogue) all the way back to Project Purity.
It was then that I realized I had never actually gotten that further in the original game before (when the "Achievement Unlocked" box popped up).
Once back at the Memorial, Trey confronted Colonel Autumn for the final time(?) and decided to let him go. Partly, it was to honor his mother's memory- mostly, it was because he wanted the Colonel to have to live with the knowledge that he had failed. Death in battle would have been too easy.
And- although Fawkes could have gone into the irradiated control room, Trey could not ask him to do so. This was his parents' dream- it was up to him to finish it, even if he died doing so.
However (cough- Broken Steel- cough) he woke up in the Brotherhood Citadel 2 weeks later. Chasing a rumor- and a desire to learn as much as possible about the Vaults, Trey helped a woman named Agatha recover an heirloom violin. He also hopes traveling back in time becomes possible so he can inflict unimaginable suffering on anyone from Vault-Tec.
But for the moment, he has heard of an anti-slavery group somewhere near Old Olney. Given his recent experience at Paradise Falls, those are some people he would like to meet.

Thanks for the replies folks! Clicking on Lopov's links has made me determined to do a complete playthru for NV. I never even played any of the dlc for that game despite having it all installed for the last few years. Sounds like Veronica is still a good bet and I really do enjoy her outlook on the world. Lol. ED-E was a fun companion, but I still remember the first time I saw read marks on the compass and it scared the life out of me. It seemed like there were 16 enemies in front of me. Later I realized that he increases the range of perception. Lol. Even now it still leaves me unsettled. Thanks mALX, for tip on 'pushy.' One punch fights sounds like fun. And Trey, I now how you feel about Colonel Autumn. The question mark is well deserved!

Trey must be quite a speaker to convince Autumn to leave peacefully, IIRC it's one of the most difficult Speech checks in the game. @Winter Wolf - Exactly, I forgot about ED-E and his Enhanced Sensors Perk which gives you a false feeling that you're just about to get overwhelmed by enemies from every possible side. I second SR's words regarding Lily - Joe made a non-planned trip to Jacobstown (to cure Rex) so he hired her, and she's a great asset for a melee character. She's really good with her marksman carbine, IMO even better than with her melee weapon - the vertibird blade. With the carbine she kills cazadors even before they reach her as long as they don't attack in packs. Joe'll probably keep her around for a while. See you soon in the Mojave.

Following Liberty Prime was my absolute all time favorite event in any video game ever; the implosion of Raven Rock was the second. I was on the 360, and the controller vibrates and jumps with hits and percussion - it was jumping out of my hand, I could barely hold onto it! I was screaming for my husband and son to come see it was so exciting - that was the ultimate video game experience EVAH !!!!!!! On Pushy - Up in a cave in the very Northwest corner of the map is Pushy - and it is a ton of fun to watch her fight with it! I brought her to the Deathclaw Promentary and climbed up on the rocks with my Anti-Material rifle and she stayed down just punching out the Deathclaws. Every now and then she would get overwhelmed and I'd have to start shooting to help her out, lol.

I will give both Veronica and Lily a go this October. I am currently running through SI with my Dunmer and then plan to travel back to Cyrodiil and finish the Hermaeus Mora quest. It is the only daedric quest in Oblivion I have never done. After that NV. I will raise a glass of sarsaparilla when I get there. Ha! That sounds awesome! I would love to have a combat moment like that. I have never used Anti-Material, but I have read enough posts at Beth forums to know that it rocks. This is another reason I need to play NV before I even attempt FO4.

I figure it will be more like FO3 than NV, because Bethsoft is developing this one and they are geared to garner the masses with their games. But I really loved Fallout 3, so sure enough I'll love this that I pre-ordered it, lol.

You're in for a treat if you haven't played any of the DLCs yet, each of them is great in its own way. My favorite is Dead Money because your equipment is taken from you and have to survive only with items available in the DLC, can't rely on Power Armor or super weapons from the Mojave. Speaking of Pushy - it sure is a powerful weapon but getting it isn't that easy either, IIRC Cazadors protect it. QUOTE(Winter Wolf @ Jul 1 2015, 05:00 AM) ...and finish the Hermaeus Mora quest. Joseph "Joe" Burg has always been a simple man. A not too intelligent but kind-hearted vagabond living under the post-war sky and waiting for the rain to fall. But now this stupid platinum chip turned his life upside down!
Arriving to the Strip, he's been given not one but two luxurious suites ("Was expecting to get some clothes if they promised me suits"), and suddenly everyone is interested in talking to him! All of this just because of the blasted platinum chip. First Mr. Hose ("Or House?Who knows?") wanted to see him, then some Bombassador from the NCR and even Caesar himself sent one of his lackeys to invite him to his camp. To make things even worse, Joe was again fooled by Benny, the man who shot him in the head in Goodsprings. Good-natured but dumb Joe forgave Benny his crime long ago but "fancy pants" betrayed him once again and ordered his bodyguards to kill him while he fled away. ("With the chips of course!")
Now Joe has enough! Enough of everyone telling him where to go and what to do! He doesn't care about the stupid chip, he doesn't care about Benny's betrayal, he's not interested working for some moustached face on the screen, nor he's interested in drinking post-war tea with NCR Bombassador or chatting with the first slaver of the Mojave. They can kill or marry each other, for all he cares.
He wants to be free again, just a courier, drifting from place to place, picking prickly pear fruit in the morning, smacking raiders, flying bugs or anything marked as red on his Peep Boy in the afternoon and drinking sunset sarsaparilla while watching sunsets. So Joe decided to leave the Strip and return to the wasteland, grandma Lily at his side. ("She calls me Jimmy but I don't care.")
They heard several rumors recently - apparently some traders are interested in traveling to Utah and are looking for someone with a PeepBoy on his hand. *1
There are also rumors about an old man from Novac, looking for a skilled courier. Though if it's a chip, Joe wants none of it! A love letter, that's what he wants to deliver. *2
And lastly, Lily and Joe heard about an office a little west of Primm, specializing in bunny hunting, so they're looking for bunny hunters. Joe has never seen a bunny except in Tales of Chivalrie magazines bur he wouldn't mind catching one. *3
So there's plenty of work to be done, but first Joe & Lily are leaving New Vegas. -- *1- Honest Hearts DLC. *2- The Inheritance Mod. *3- New Vegas Bounties I Mod.

Cazadores? I thought it was Mirelurks? If the Enclave are swarming they set up in there and you get another unique item off a dead one ... I think. It has been a while since I played NV. I do remember there are always bighorners outside the door to the cave though; and one of those hollowed out rocks and a grave to dig up nearby. The one that scares me the most is where they put an exploding collar on you and make you reach a place by a certain time and radios you can't see explode it - SubRosa told me about that one, and (thank goodness, and at my begging) gave me a couple tips on how to survive it, lol.

Yep, that sounds like Sierra Madre which means the Dead Money DLC, my favorite. It's difficult but as long as you're patient and cautious, you'll be okay. From my experience, there's only one point close to the end when it's hard to get past a speaker because it's really hidden. QUOTE(mALX @ Jul 1 2015, 07:15 PM) Oh boy! Screenshots of the DLC coming up then!!! Perhaps or perhaps not. Joe might tackle all of this but I'm not sure in what order. Maybe he'll even visit Sierra Madre first.

Wolf has just breathed sigh of relief... And everything I have read at Beth forums says that Dead Money is awesome. For years now I have wanted to get my hands into that dlc, but the members have also said you should really be level 20+ before you start any NV dlc. My problem is I always leave the game before I get there.
