QUOTE(mALX @ Jun 28 2015, 09:18 PM) This was an Awesome update! I can't get over how much Joe is able to do with just a shovel - and still in his Vault uniform, which has no protection rating at all, does it? Amazing !!! After years of playing New Vegas, I allow myself to cheat a little. I'm not a big fan of any kind of armor, I prefer ordinary clothes for my characters, that's why I increased Joe's Damage Threshoild & Damage Resistance with the console to make him more durable. It's similar with boss characters like Lanius, Joshua, Ulysses and some others - all of them have increased DT and some have even increased SPECIAL, especially Ulysses that has 10 points in everything. Nonetheless, the fight with Vulpes and his goons was challenging, Joe used a lot of stimpaks and had to hide behind buildings a few times to heal himself, because there were too many of them attacking at once, not to mention their dogs. QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jun 28 2015, 10:09 PM) Nipton is one of those places that none of my characters have ever been able to walk into without immediately going on a killing spree. I don't think I could ever play a pro-Legion character. I am glad to see that Joe decided to put his shovel to good work, shoveling out the crap. I usually leave them alone at this point because it automatically makes you Shunned or worse with the Legion, which means that their hit squads come after you. But since I use a mod that makes squads attack every 21 instead of every 3 days, I don't have problems with killing Vulpes anymore. QUOTE(Acadian @ Jun 28 2015, 11:46 PM) I get the impression that ‘Cause of death: hit by a shovel’ is happening a lot with Joe around. 'Done and done' (the last shot) is a wonderfully imposing shot of Joe. This is the second to last set of screenshots with his trusted shovel, afterwards it'll change to Cause of death: hit by a rebar club. QUOTE(Winter Wolf @ Jun 29 2015, 07:58 AM) The only problem with your playthru is that it would be so much fun smacking people that it would be boring to 'upgrade' to a small gun weapon. I could see myself just using one melee weapon and missing out of everything else. Lol.
Is that first screen from the Nevada Highway Patrol Station? Yes, it is. I'm pretty sure that Joe won't ever use any other weapons, but it'll be problematic to fight deathclaws or some insanely powerful creatures that can easily tear you apart. But maybe I'll solve it by boosting his DT.

But since I use a mod that makes squads attack every 21 instead of every 3 days, I don't have problems with killing Vulpes anymore. I learned that problem with taking on the Legion too early with Lonesome Dove. Those constant death squad attacks forced her to upgrade from a Cowboy Repeater to the Anti-Material Rifle. So when later I played Annie Ley Oak I made sure that she gave Nipton a wide arc until I she was up to higher levels. Now thanks to that mod, it's no longer such a big deal. I am sure when Persephone gets to the Mojave, she won't be holding back when she arrives in Nipton...

That raider sure looks high on drugs in the Sword Fight pic, love the sky in the background. She looks great in Badlands armor, it's my favorite raider apparel, since it's the least "sadistic". Well, judging from how Brahmin look at Persephone, I think they've never seen her on the highway before either. The Jefferson Memorial! A good place for adventure even without the MQ activated. As long as mudcrabs mirelurks don't get too close, Persephone can relax safely. The weather got better too compared to the previous pic. -- Welcome to NevadaGoodbye to CaliforniaFinal headache (Joe's intervention saved the caravan of traders from the Legion) Joe joins the caravan as a guard......scouting areas ahead......and clearing ridges of potential danger.Joe signaling that it's safe to passTraders rewarded Joe with a brahmin steak, some purified water, two stimpaks and... ...sunglasses!Joe comes to NovacIn dinosaur's mouthTime for a new old outfitJoe joining the caravan is just RP stuff, you can't officially join them in the game but you can travel alongside and fight with them or instead of them as Joe did. I gave him rewards with the console. This post has been edited by Lopov: Jun 30 2015, 07:57 PM

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jun 29 2015, 06:09 PM) * I love this "Sword fight, I've never really seen a raider attack with a sword, though I've been hit by a raider and found a sword in their inventory after they were dead, lol. I love this shot because it looks like the raider is running her mouth while she fights, lol. That, and - really not sure what she is wearing, but it reminds me of that armor you get in "The Pitt" with the ballistic missiles on your chest, Persephone blending in is adorable! Oh, you managed to get an explosion on film! I somehow always miss the shot, and I have tried and tried !!! That whole bridge full of cars going into "The Pitt" - I set it off and spammed the "Prnt Scrn" - got the screens when I stopped playing and all I got was some black smoke, lol. Just not fast enough. Holy Cow what a sword !!!!! I love her sitting on the bow of the boat! That little business there is one of my favorite little spots; have thought about modding it into a little business for my game.

I gave him rewards with the console. I love the welcome to Nevada sign screen, have passed that so many times (in game). I've been attacked in that same exact overlook spot; but it wasn't the Legion, it was either Vipers or Jackels - one of those smaller gangs. Joe looks great in his sunglasses! Ooh, I wonder if Joe will visit Annie's place in Novak (SubRosa's Girl) Love the shot in the dinosaur's mouth' but my absolute favorite is the last one of Joe in the new wardrobe - not because of the clothes, but his pose/facial expression, etc. That shot looks so real - it is spectacular! Awesome shots!!! This post has been edited by mALX: Jun 30 2015, 10:11 PM

QUOTE(mALX @ Jun 26 2015, 10:14 PM) Is that a pool cue she is wielding? Wait, I've never seen that stash before !!! Where is it? Or is that part of a mod? It is so exciting to see you back in the Wasteland! I'll be leaving Point Lookout soon, I'm on my last quest there and then will be coming back to find Persephone!
Doh! I forgot to answer! That is the European Greatsword mod. It adds a zweihander with a straight blade, and another with a wavy blade. QUOTE(Lopov @ Jun 27 2015, 03:13 AM) That shotgun sure is big! What's the story with all those crates behind her?
Those crates are all at the entrance to Vault 101. Whenever I make a mod for an item, or modify someone else's (which is almost all the time), I put it in a respawning container at the Vault 101 entrance. That way my characters can use it once they leave the tutorial. Or I can easily get to it if I am adding it to an already existing character.

And it looks vanilla the way you have them scattered and sunk in! Oh, what a great idea to re-spawn them too; so you have a way to repair a mod weapon! I wouldn't have thought of that!

Whenever I have a weapon or armor from a mod, I make a custom repair list for it, and then add in things like wonderglue (for weapons), or scrap metal (for armor). I will typically also add in other similar items. For example, Persephone's Winterized Recon Armor can be repaired with any of the Raider or Merc armors, as well as Recon Armor, and scrap metal. Her Benelli Shotgun can be repaired with any regular combat shotgun, another Benelli, or wonderglue.

Oh boy do I ever wish Recon armor could be repaired with Raider armor! I could keep my armor repaired at 100% all the time and cut out so many "emptying out" trips to Megaton and Rivet City!

QUOTE(mirocu @ Jul 1 2015, 09:07 AM) @Lopov - New Vegas is soo yellow! Old pic, but still funny BWAAHAA!!! Are you killing the Outcast? One game I made the mistake of picking the lock into their headquarters; and even though I wasn't caught, they knew somehow, and from then on they targeted me and tried to kill me everywhere they went (in groups of 3 and with power armor). Well, Maxical figured if she had the bad rep with them she might as well earn it - she robbed their armory and dorm rooms - and offices. Took every thing they had that wasn't nailed down, lol. After that I've never picked their lock again, I hate having those guys mad at me, lol. This post has been edited by mALX: Jul 1 2015, 04:52 PM

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jun 30 2015, 09:26 PM) I know that spot where the caravan was. I have seen two of them there sometimes, and there is always a Legion ambush to the north. Joe's shovel looks like a toothpick in Dinky the Dinosaur's mouth! Lol about the toothpick! Since I use a mod that makes merchants stronger, they usually survive the first attack from the Legion but they get butchered later on because they're attacked two times more, once by raiders, then again by the Legion. If it weren't for Joe, they'd be dead. QUOTE(mALX @ Jun 30 2015, 10:29 PM) Love the shot in the dinosaur's mouth' but my absolute favorite is the last one of Joe in the new wardrobe - not because of the clothes, but his pose/facial expression, etc. That shot looks so real - it is spectacular! I like changing outfits from time to time. QUOTE(Acadian @ Jun 30 2015, 10:38 PM) And looks like he scored some new shades and duds for his efforts! Sunglasses aren't that easy to find in NV, that's why they were given to him with the console. -- "Morning, Teddy."Washin' upHold up, Rocketeers!Ghouls. Lots of them.At this point Joe realized that his trusted shovel is getting more and more useless and conveniently, he found a rebar club on a mutant's corpse. Big toyRebar club in actionMore actionRebar vs RebarLastly, some shots if you piss off the guy on the other side of the Intercom in the REPCONN factory. This happens if you ask him for his location three times in a row, which Joe did. And then when you find him, you have to talk over the Intercom again, he unlocks the door for your immediately but if you want, you can still activate the Intercom, but he's not very happy about it.
