Trey managed to convince the AntAgonizer (Tanya) that life amongst the ants was really not the way to go, and that anyone can be redeemed. (Except possibly slavers, who can be shot on sight). He then reminded the Mechanist that bullets and missiles can kill indiscriminately....

With thoughts of Anchorage still troubling him, Trey took the riverboat to Point Lookout, hoping a change of scenery might abate his loneliness.

Through a series of events that are still not clear, he found himself on the trail of a Chinese spy ring that had operated before the War. For reasons that are equally unclear, he completed the mission given to one of the spies. Although the weapons he found at the end were useful, he still finds himself trying to wrap his mind around why any of this mattered.

However, he also met Desmond at the Calvert Mansion and helped in the defense. When it was over, Desmond trained him in a useful combat skill. Well- it might be useful if Trey can break his habit of running backwards while shooting...

Wow this thread's been busy! I've been lurking & reading these past few days, catching up. Guess everyone's getting geared up for Fallout 4, eh?

Pipboy App ON. Date: 10.15.77, 20:38

Cho here. Finally figured out where this library is. Moira wants me to go in there, find some books for her or something. Which is fine with me. As long as I get paid. I had to get by a bunch of asshole raiders along the way, but so far it's been worth it. Okay. Let's go inside this dump.

unidentified sounds, Pipboy App cannot decipher ... 10 seconds....

unidentified female voice: Whoa, this area is under the protection of the Brotherhood of Steel. Leave immediately.

Yeah. Well it's a [censored] library, or at least it was. I have my business here. Now move it, unless you want a taste of my Winchester. Yeah, this is a Winchester rifle, the real thing. Some guy told me, and HE is an expert. Now move it.

unidentified female voice: You're awfully brave to be walking around here by yourself. Are you scavenging the ruins?

Alright, so it's not really a Winchester, it's a mutt gun. I just had to be sure, and you seem friendly. Sure I am walking in here all by myself, nobody else wanted to come along. I need to find some items here, for a guy up in Megaton. Official orders from the sherriff. And look, there is plenty of stuff here for the both of us. What the [censored] are you doing in here anyways?

unidentified female voice: So it goes with all of us. Perhaps we can be of use to one another. I'm Senior Scribe *unidentified word*. Order of the Word. I have a proposal for you, if you're interested.

Sounds good. Let's hear it. Her name is Senior Scribe Earring, Pip Boy app.

female voice identified by Pipboy app as Senior Scribe Earring: Who are you talking to?

Nobody. Uh...

My task here is to collect the written words of those who came before me. In order to supplement the archives of the Citidel. Although most of the war books have been destroyed, there are a few that have survived. But finding a book in these ruins is ... difficult. I could have a million initiates comb these ruins--

So cut to the chase. You want me to look for some books?

Senior Scribe Earring: Precisely. The collected knowledge of a lost age is worth far more than any weapon. So, return here with any books you find in good condition. I will compensate with every volume that you bring me. Think of it. And return with any books you have to offer me.

Are you kidding? You'll give me caps for [censored] books? Ha ha ha! .. Glad to meet you Scribe Earring.

Scribe Earring: Cut it out. And watch where you're going.

Talking Tanya out of her evil ways is not easy! You must have visited Hubris Comics beforehand, and read the letters to the editor? I wish there was an option to convince her to use her Powers for Good™ keep the costume, and protect Canterbury Commons. Though granted, talking her into hanging up her antenna and retiring does open the way for a new heroine to take up the mantle of The AntAgonizer!

I remember doing that Chinese spy ring quest and wondering why I would be trying to complete a Dirty Red Commie's™ mission as well. I told myself it was in the hopes of looting some juicy pre-war Red tech. And maybe to find out what the Commies had really been up to, and putting a stop to it for once and all.

I realized the idea from yesterday, namely the US Army Mechanic that was abducted by aliens before the Great War and woke up from his stasis 200 years later.

I remember Oda but I forgot that her adventure began on the spaceship. I might borrow the idea of dreaming about life in the Vault.

What I did with Hidetaka was after she exited the Vault, I used the TCL command to go up really high in the air, and then went north to the Recon Craft Crash Site. Once I was there I went back down to the ground so that she could get snagged by the aliens and taken off to the Mothership. The reason for going up really high was that she did not add discover any locations as she traveled. She was so far overhead that they did not register. So when she was done with Zeta, the entire Wasteland was brand new and unexplored for her. Since she was a samurai, I also used the console to give her the samurai armor and katana after she busted out of the containment cell.

That is genius! I'll bet the "Q" key comes in handy for the trek north to the MZ crash site - but how on earth do you complete MZ with such an early character? That is Awesome, I've always loved the things you think of to back up your RP'ing!

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jul 5 2015, 12:22 AM) *

Today I some New Vegas perks to FO3, like Purifier and Unstoppable Force. Persephone learned Purifier just a little while ago, and wow what a difference it makes. She just went on a Super-Mutant killing spree in L'Enfant Plaza. They go down a lot easier now. Unfortunately some perks just cannot be brought over because the FO3 executable does not have the same entry points as NV. Otherwise I would have brought over the one that lets you knock people down, and the one that increases your melee weapon attack speed.

I'll have to look up these perks to see what they do! I don't remember them, but then it has been years since I played NV.

QUOTE(Lopov @ Jul 4 2015, 04:54 PM) *

That's true as long as you're interested in actually doing the main quest, which I'm usually not. smile.gif What I meant to say earlier is that FO3 offers more in terms of exploration and FNV more when it comes to quests and meaningful choices. In FNV you can't leave Goodsprings in any other direction than south because you get butchered by high-leveled enemies while in FO3 you can go almost any direction with good chances to survive.

Yeah, between the cazador and giant radscorpions - but also because of how the enemies are leveled vs the Player's leveling early in the game.

You got the same feeling I did, (I think) about completing that mission for a spy against the US? I had a tough time blowing up that sub, felt like a traitor to my country, lol.

It didn't involve regrettable acts of violence did it?

Cho is back! Woo hoo!

I love reading those recorded snippets of audio. Such an interesting way to tell a story.

The cut to the chase part remind me of the start of Fight Club, down the barrel of the gun.

Scribe Earring's nostrils flaring. 'Thank you,' says Cho and leaves. Tick Tock. laugh.gif

Captured by aliens indeed.

Hey, you of all people speaking about multiple characters. tongue.gif

I actually don't have many right now, one in the Mojave and one in the Capital Wasteland so that's only two to remember. bigsmile.gif That's when it comes to Fallout, there are a few more if we include TES.

Just so you all know- your descriptions inspire and amuse me- as appropriate....

Trey, despite having highly intelligent parents, is apparently completely suggestible, so he went wandering into The Bog seeking something called the "Mother... wait for it... Punga."

A half-dozen mirelurks (or swamplurks) later, he found the plant, which had some quite strange effects on him. The Luck Schmault-Tec bobblehead was kinda meaningful.

Then there was Mr. Burke and the Megaton nuke... and the itchy and painful spot on the back of Trey's head.

Back at the Cathedral, Nadine- for whom Trey had been searching, cleared up a lot of confusion, as well as giving him a haircut to cover that danged scar. She also pointed him in the direction of the mysterious "Jackson," as well as letting him know who had performed the impromptu brain salad surgery....

When Trey confronted the Collector of Grey Matter, that individual tried to justify his actions by pointing out that Trey had probably "killed a lot more people." Which is true- but all of those people were shooting at him at the time, as opposed to be passed out in a drug-induced torpor.

Regardless, the CGM decided to punctuate the debate with a .44, causing Trey to perform a definitive brain surgery of his own- with a combat shotgun.

If Jackson is as "friendly" as Desmond was, Trey may just shoot both of them and go home to Megaton.
