QUOTE(Decrepit @ Nov 27 2015, 04:44 AM) My avatar hasn't passed by Aleswell in ever so long. He has no official reason to do so. It's on no patrol route. Nor is it a time-efficient pathway for shipping.
Still, he might wanna consider it. Lothran has met many a Legionnaire in dire situations on that stretch of road. ----------------- Itīs winter time; Lothran is in Bruma! He left Aleswell in the foggy morning and made his way up to the frozen town, arriving around mid-day. Along the way he met a couple of ogres and down at the ruin by the junction two bandits. All quickly disposed of. Upon entering Bruma he went to his house (I could actually almost feel the smell from the cabin!) and lit the fireplace. He then began to offload the many items he had collected during the past year. Every item was put in their respective container and among them were one (1) Ayleid statue! I donīt remember where he had found it but itīs fun to add another to the collection. This particular one now decorates the right side of Lothranīs bed. Pics in the pic thread!

My avatar's just-ended scouring of Rockmilk took longer than any previous cleansing I have been privy to witness . . . and I've observed most of 'em. Reasons are several.
First, there was an extraordinary amount of spoils to be plundered, more so than most such cleansings. This necessitated at least two additional walks to the cave entrance to offload pilferage onto Groucho. Such trips consume time, especially those that fall deep within the caverns.
Second, survivors of the various rival gang combats contained a disproportionately high ratio of archers. Battling archers is serious business, fraught will peril (thanks to Duke Patrick's Combat Archery). To the point, most such encounters consume a good deal of time, and generally end with one or more pieces of armor in desperate need of repair.
Despite extra trips to Groucho, my avatar was fairly selective on what he grabbed. Some good pieces were ignored during the cleansing. His plan was to scour the entire cave system, then make one final spoils run for the lesser pieces. Only, as he approached the cave exit for what would have been his penultimate offloading of spoils who should appear but . . . Sir Mazoga. My avatar simply could not leave her empty handed. He therefore forwent taking any remaining high quality loot and all unclaimed lesser spoils. He vowed to split Black Bows 50/50, leave her scare at the Lodge for her to hand in at leisure.
I left him ready to exit Rockmilk and begin the trek to Leyawiin.

This can be considered a non-update, the gang being no further along in their adventures than when last I chronicled them. It might have been otherwise. My greatest joy as disembodied observer-of-events are those times when I feel myself not playing a game but rather witnessing the life stories of a group of beings unfold as they go about their daily affairs. The more immersive this can be pulled off the happier I am. The game can and does throw major obstacles in the way of immersion. One learns to avoid the worst pitfalls, play to the game's strengths, and accept what can not be avoided . . . to a point. I had a fairly lengthy session this morning, which saw the gang spend the night in Leyawiin, turn in Black Bows, and travel the road to Corinthe, Elsweyr to collect cheese for delivery to Border Watch. It was a mess. All sorts of little things went wrong, which I got them through in gamish ways. Immersion went out the window. By the time they dismounted in Corinthe I knew I had done disservice to my avatar and frustrated myself. I exited without saving and deleted the one save made earlier in the session (just prior to leaving Leyawiin). While such action is rare, deleting non immersive sessions of gameplay is not unheard of. As I see it, for my avatar those removed saves never occurred. As for me, I'll get over it. I just gotta get my head on straighter before going back and setting things to rights. This post has been edited by Decrepit: Nov 29 2015, 10:22 PM

QUOTE(Lopov @ Nov 29 2015, 08:56 PM) I know that winter is knocking at the door when Lothran arrives in Bruma. Will he get a Christmas tree this year? If he can sharpen his Rusty Iron Axe, then maybe QUOTE(Decrepit @ Nov 29 2015, 10:00 PM) I exited without saving and deleted the one save made earlier in the session (just prior to leaving Leyawiin).
Wow. Actually doing that takes a lot. I donīt think Iīve ever done it, save from a very rare occasion when I simply had to due to serious problems with the game. Lothran was in Bruma but I canīt remember what triggered me to delete many saves and revert back several real life days. I hope I never have to do it again though.

What went wrong, Decrepit? Can you give an example? I have played a few sessions and not saved. It happens rarely, but it does happen. Usually if there's some sort of technical problem or game-breaking roleplay moment or something such. Well, I returned to Snaaty's game briefly last night, and my first quest works. I made a fetch quest, it's very simple, but the entire thing works, which really makes me happy! Snaaty is in Bravil (the capital of skooma) but he doesn't do very well in Bravil, as a merchant. People in Bravil don't buy his stuff. They don't have to, because Bravil already has its own dealers, who probably charge less than Snaaty does. But then my dark elf meets Sal Uut. Sal is new in town. He's a Breton skooma-user. The premise of the quest is that Sal shows up in the Lonely Suitor, ready to party with 10 bottles of skooma. But somebody steals all his stuff. Rumor is: an orc is the thief, and there are further rumors that this orc has been keeping his stash of skooma somewhere inside Anutwyll. ' So Sal (who is old and not an adventurer at all) proposes that if Snaaty can find out if the orc has indeed stolen his skooma, and also retrieves the man's skooma, Sal will split whatever Snaaty finds 50/50. And buy him a beer. Silly little quest, but it works. That's all I care about right now, it [censored] works!

Yes, I've created two and a half so far. The first one was a simple fetch quest, and the next one will be a "find the thief and kill" quest. And the third one is going to be more elaborate. My skooma dealer's going to get sent to Chorrol in that one, and he's never been there before, so that should be neat. What I like most about it is I can write stuff around my character much more specifically than Bethesda or anybody else can. I can include my character's name in some dialog, and if I share any of these mods with anyone else I can add their name too. By the way, Snaaty has been looking around Bravil. There's gotta be somebody to recruit for Gweden Brothel, there just has to be; it's Bravil, after all. So far, we haven't found this next person.

QUOTE(mirocu @ Dec 2 2015, 02:27 PM) Plundered Mine and the Jeralls were Lothranīs goal today. He took care of the goblins that posed an immediate threat to travelles and also a few bandtis on the road to Applewatch. When he later was about to enter Jerall View he saw someone come running and it was none other than Urjahbi! The Khajiit didnīt stay for very long and was soon out the East gate again, presumably heading back to the Imperial City. And of course we had the usual shenanigans at Olavīs, courtesy of Ongar the World-Weary I'm shocked to hear Urjahbi was out of the IC? Is that normal for him to travel to Bruma? I'm stunned by this, have never seen him out and about before!

In fact he does have an A.I package dictating that he travels to Bruma once a month I think. UESP has more info of course but itīs something like that. Lothran has encountered him several times in Bruma over the years Well now I'm going to have to look for him there!

mirocu, I noticed that your frequency of writing updates significantly increased now that Lothran is in Bruma. Guess you arrived "home" in a way as well. Decrepit, your party was busy in Leyawiin and its surroundings. Renee, soon you'll be able to post the trilogy of your mods at Nexus.
