@Renee - I wasn't totally drunk but I don't know what's the appropriate word for this state in English language, because the translator automatically translates the word as "drunk" but in our language it's not the same. I drank quite a lot but I wasn't really drunk and I didn't have any hangover the following morning.

@SubRosa - you can buy themes for the Tenpenny Suite as well, but I always use mods that enlarge it, it's only one room in the base game + the balcony.

Here in 'Merica we would call that a good buzz. Not drunk, but feeling good. Managing a good buzz is an artform, drink too much and you get drunk, not enough and you start to sober up. smile.gif Or so I recall from my younger days, when I still imbibed.

It's cho again. Like at this point, who else would it be, right? I am the only one in the world who's got the sort of technology that allows me to speak into my arm, and later have some form of written documentation of what was said. Well of course, I would have been nowhere without Marge. She's the one to implemented the background programming; the "grunt work", if you will. The idea was mine initially, but without her... Break.

Guess where I am? Yeah, you got it. I'm at what's known as The Mall. Here, have a look.

IPB Image

It's where the museums are, where Three Dog wants me to find his [censored] radio dish, or whatever. Centuries ago, this is where a lot of the world's tourists used to frequent, and also where a lot of America's laws and decisions where passed. I can imagine them all, children who aren't covered with soot, carrying toys and candy, or whatever the [censored]. Parents walking around, looking at all the museum stuff, saying "ooooh, this is where President fuddy-duddy stood when he got caught cheating with his intern." Nobody getting shot. Nobody getting killed. Not here, anyways. From what we saw in those video device discs back at Vault 101, The Mall was basically a peaceful, pretty place, with some sort of giant fountain at one end. Cars and buses constantly moving around here. And nobody getting killed, or even hurt. No [censored] caps. No radioactive bullshit. Break.

Well now look at the place; it's really not much better than the Wasteland itself. And there are indeed some super-mutants about, which is why I'm crouched down in hiding, watching them from a distance. Waiting for darkness, so I can move about. But the temptation to [censored] shoot one of those bastards is also there. Yeah, get him with my Winchester rifle BANG! ... Break.

Not really a good idea, though. Because there's more than one of them up there. For all I know there could be dozens of them, all over the damn Mall.

unidentified sounds, Pipboy App cannot decipher

It's dark now, so I moved. *DING* and my Pipboy has informed me that I have discovered the Museum of Technology. Cool. I'd better go. Time for some fun.

Renee, LoL about the president and the intern. bigsmile.gif We should be thankful to Cho since he let us know how the Mall looked like before the War.

"Are you alright, sir? Sir? Can you hear me? Sir?!"

"A tricycle! For me? Wow!"

"That's it, then? Damn, what a shame. A real shame."

Another headache...and more voices. Voices from another world, from another time. Hobo can't recognize these voices but he hears them. He's been hearing them for years. Sometimes he hears the same voices, sometimes new ones appear. Hobo doesn't know what are these voices doing in his head but each time they come, his head hurts. The voices always slowly die down with time but the headache doesn't stop immediately. Sometimes it lasts for minutes or even hours. Sometimes it doesn't pass away even after sleeping. Hobo likes some voices, they make him feel...like he's somewhere else. He feels unexplainable happiness. Not that he's an unhappy person but some voices wake up another happiness inside him. But who's behind these voices? What is their message?

Hobo goes to the toilet and looks at his own reflection in the dusty broken mirror, still hanging above the sink from times before the bombs fell. He sees the man with bedraggled gray hair and thick, messy beard.

"Who are you?" he asks, afraid of the answer.

"I don't know. Just another hobo," answers the reflection.

Phew. I'm actually speechless Lopov. I bet the voices are him as a child though. No, actually, they're from some sort of ghost.

I am back to Fallout 3 with my mad scientist/lich Loviatar. I made a mad scientist lair for her north of Springvale, next to the river. Today I did a little bit of exploring in that area. Loviatar found that Raiders make good eating. They have the right touch of corruption to give the meat some spice (she cannot eat regular food, purified water, or even breathe clean air. My plan is that the cannibal perk, dirty water, and blood packs, will be the only way she can eat, drink, and otherwise heal herself). So far it's going good. As long as she is fighting humans, she can heal up her damage by eating them afterwards.

She won't be living in Megaton. I have a feeling it might not be around for too long in her game... I am not sure about living at Tenpenny Tower. Can you guy themes for the Tenpenny Suite like you can the Megaton House? Because she ought to have a mad scientist lair, with a few skulls and body parts tossed in for good measure.

Bold = BWAAHAA! Will this be your first time trying out bombing Megaton?

(and yes, you can buy themes for the Tenpenny Suite - but if you have both Megaton and Tenpenny, they both get the same suite you pick for one, so make sure you have nothing stored in either if you are changing themes.

This will definitely be my fist time blowing up Megaton. If I have the heart (or lack thereof) to go through with it.

Loviatar had a weird encounter yesterday. Thanks to Project ED-E, she has been traveling with an Eyebot companion lately. They came upon a group of slavers and their victims on the way back from Minefield. Loviatar talked to a Slaver and they just said "hi". Then she tried talking to a slave, and he asked her to take his bomb collar off.

Loviatar never tried doing that before, and had no idea if it would kill him or not, so she thought it would be a great idea! She got it off successfully, and the slavers went hostile. A big fight started between them and Loviatar/ED-E. During the fight one of the slaves came running over crouched down, and Loviatar thought he was a slaver at first. So she shot him dead. Ooops.

Then after the fight the slaves were standing around looking warily at Loviatar. She tried talking to them again, and the next one asked her take their collar off. So she tried. Well, it didn't work out so well this time, and his head blew off. The slaves went running, and ED-E started shooting. He gunned down the last slave before he could escape. I thought, wow, this robot is perfect for her! laugh.gif

A few slavers did end upon the dinner table... laugh.gif

Speaking of which, I did find one issue with trying not to use Stimpacks. There is no way for her heal up crippling injuries. So I have been keeping them just for that. Unless maybe I can mod something like blood packs to do that as well.

Sleeping should heal crippled limbs automatically unless you use some mod. But I guess she can't sleep for every crippled limb.

I use a combination of RI Sleep and Stay Crippled in Combat, the first one disables healing limbs by sleeping and the 2nd one disables healing crippled limbs in combat only, you have to wait for a battle to finish to heal crippled limbs.

IMHO, crippled limbs happen way too often to wait for sleeping. But I did make bloodpacks heal limbs with the hematophage perk. I just tested it out. You cannot go to the status screen with the big paper doll and pick a limb, and heal it like you can a stimpack. But just using a bloodpack normally does automatically causes all crippled limbs to be cured.

Tonight Megaton sleeps with the fishes. Loviatar set the fusion charge. She went to Tenpenny Tower, talked to Burke, pressed the button, and just as I was getting ready to take screenshots, nothing. There was a bright flash, and later some shaking. But no explosion. Burke and Tenpenny talked like it had happened however.

So then I started going through my mods to find out which one was preventing the explosion from happening. Not Fellout, not Fallout 3 Realistic Wasteland Lighting, not Megaton Lighting Overhaul. It turns out it was a little mod I made myself that changed a little part of Megaton, to create a little walkway straight from the player house to the front gate.

So after disabling that, I got my explosion. Yes! Then I reloaded, waited for daylight, and tried it again. I liked it much better in the daytime. So that became my official version. Though I still have the screenshots from the first try.

Afterward I got my first real look at the Tenpenny Suite. I was not impressed. I liked the Megaton house much more. I tried a mod that makes it larger, but it goes too far, and makes it gigantic. I did find another that adds trophies to the vanilla suite for quests you do. I'll see how that works out, and keep her Mad Scientist Lair near Springvale as Loviatar's primary residence.

I just noticed that nuking Megaton does not change the People Killed stat in your Pipboy. laugh.gif

I also did a little thinking today about Loviatar's past. She definitely was alive before the Great War. She was a biochemist working for one of the big labs that was deep in research for the military. The three that come to mind are Big MT, Mariposa, and The Institute.

Since I still have not played FO4, I don't know a whole lot about the Institute. Just that they seem to be big into Artificial Intelligence and robotics. So that does not seem like the place for her. Bit MT seems to have sealed itself off when the nukes started flying, so probably not there too. Mariposa is tantalizing. That is where FEV was developed. When the army garrison found out what was going on there, they were so horrified that they killed the scientists.

That sounds perfect. It was Loviatar's experiments that led the army to mutiny and start killing scientists. She was dying of cancer. While officially on the FEV project, she was in reality following her own agenda to cure herself. She developed her Prometheus Serum in secret, but after the animal testing stage, she naturally needed some humans to try it on. Her compatriots were already secretly using military prisoners as test subjects, so she appropriated a few for herself.

Naturally the results of her early work were horrific (but I think was actually useful for the FEV work, and probably would become the groundwork for the creation of the first Super Mutants by The Master). The Army found out, and the Colonel in charge committed suicide. Captain Roger Maxson took over, determined to get even, and started killing scientists.

With the Army on its way with torches and pitchforks, Loviatar injected herself with her unfinished serum. It reacted with the cancer cells in her system, and they took over. But she did not die. Her serum worked, even if in some unexpected ways. She became immortal. She shot her way out of Mariposa, and escaped into the desert. The nukes were in the air less than a week later. She was buried by the bombs, and by the time she had dug herself out, she found that Maxson and the others had left Mariposa.

She pursued, and picked them off one by one during the nights through ambushes. Killing opportune targets and then escaping into the darkness before the others could come. But when Maxson and the others reached the Lost Hills bunker, she knew her opportunity for vengeance had gone. She could never kill them all in there. So she was forced to withdraw, before their own patrols could find and kill her. Perhaps permanently.

By then she had discovered that her body now fed off corruption. She could only breathe or drink toxic or irradiated air and water. She could only eat other humans. But she was also immune to radiation, diseases, and toxins. In fact, they made her stronger. Her new body seemed perfectly adapted to the newly created wasteland.

I am also thinking that regeneration would be an appropriate power for her. I am going to see if I can make a script that will make that work from a perk. Ha! Turns out that was really easy. I was able to copy the regeneration script from the Solar Powered perk, and just remove the if statements that cause it to only work during the daytime.

Loviatar is an Impersonated Corruption, good backstory with ties to Mariposa and FEV. I figure she must be highly intelligent.

I used this mod to expand Tenpenny's suite in Deeno's game, not that he used it much. It adds a bedroom with a bathroom, and enlarges the main room.

--

Hobo spent a few days at Fort Constantine and thoroughly scavenged the place and now he has almost every component required for a Dart Gun except a radscorpion poison gland. He found a well preserved Chinese Assault Rifle and matching 5.56 ammunition among some skeletons on a toilet. Of course he still prefers his hunting rifle but an assault one will come handy at times. While looking for anything else worthy or worthless he listened to CONELRAD, his favorite radio station in the wastes. When it was sleeping time, Hobo went to the former CO's quarters and slept in his bed which he encircled with mines.

Today he's about to leave Fort Constantine and head for the nearby SatCom Array Tower. Hobo doesn't have a goal, he just wanders to wherever he likes. Hobo is a free man. Was he always free? Hobo doesn't know.
