You are making me want to play Oblivion again smile.gif
Reading about Lothran, Severan, the Decrepit Avatar, Kahreem and Renee Gade III actually made me fire up Oblivion again.

But since my new character will do the main quest, I'll write in the Spoilers section. I've only completed the main quest once about 7-8 years ago so doing it for the 2nd time should be fun.

Callidus: I think it's been awhile since I've been to Fort Nikel. But I just read about it at UESP. Yeah, any lair which has NPCs is one I usually enjoy raiding.

Lopov: Text or it didn't happen. wink.gif

Lothran is enjoying yet another Christmas in Pale Pass, hunting ogres with his frost bow biggrin.gif

What seems to be the last one was taken down using Snowflake. It may not look powerful, but used correctly itīs not something you scoff at wink.gif

@Renee - fine then, here you go. smile.gif

I accidentally posed it here but since the story involves quite some spoilers and this thread seems to favor shorter updates, I moved it to the Renee's thread in the Spoilers section.

Cyrodiil is starting to get worrying for Severan. He's got his new shield spell, his new summon, two actually. He tested both the flame atronach and the dremora, and the flame atronach seems more useful most of the time, so he's using that. But there are will-o-wisps and black bears on the road now, so travelling has become very dangerous for an unarmoured character.

On the upside he's got more than 14k even after buying some new spells, and raiding a vampire lair near Cheydinhal got him an elven bow. He's also been back to Frostcrag Spire to brew up some more powerful potions and poisons. Magebane is a particular favourite of his, damaging health and magicka, as well as inflicting fire damage and silence. But that's a specialty poison, of course. Anyone that isn't a mage only rates a basic damage health poison.

Next stop, Skingrad. Possibly after hitting a couple more places along the way.

Heartfire 20, 3rd Era, 8:24 am

"You need some place to rest? I can rent you a room for 10 gold."

"That would be lovely, yes."

"Okay then. It's upstairs, the room at the west end of the hall. That's to your right when you come out the door. Enjoy."

Joan of Arkay buys some sort of weird stew from the orc who runs Two Sisters' Lodge, then has a seat in one of its far corners. She has a bite of her stew. Not bad. It's got tomatoes, potatoes, and onions. It's been made with care, not consternation. She has another bite. What am I doing here in Skingrad? she wonders. My curiosity, what makes me curious, is upwards near Chorrol. That castle. An entire castle, empty of citizens or mongrels. Possibly I may make my return there, then.

Joan has heard about "trouble in Kvatch", but knows not if she should get involved. Her devotion to the Nine, and Arkay in particular, leaves her no doubt that the banishment of undead, vampires and such, is to be where her concerns lie most. And Battlehorn Castle, that strange empty domicile. Curiosity, and all that.

She finishes her meal. As she rises, she nods to the red-haired scullery maid who traipses down the stairs, to begin an early cooking schedule.

It's been a long time, Ms of Arkay. The Battlehorn castle! I've never tried this DLC but supposedly it's more than just decorating an old castle, there's a story beneath its walls from what I read.

And I think that the red-scullery maid is Sarah Phimm, right?

Slight change of plan. Handing over a consigned parcel to the Jerall View Merchants Guild agent my avatar, still flustered, elected to return to the Fighters Guild hall for another nap rather than stroll the city. He slept two hours, waking just past 1900 . . . supper time. They dined at the Jerall View. The menu left something to be desired. The Inn had three bottles of booze in stock. Three! One middling Skingrad wine, one generic cheap wine, one beer. My avatar ordered all three; Skingrad wine and beer for Vil, cheap wine for himself. That left him one short. Now, my avatar normally feels it a gross discourtesy to partake from his rucksack while dining at one of the realm's established eateries. In this case he had no qualms doing so, choosing, if memory serves, an imported ale of some variety. Or was it lager? Food options were sparse but adequate. He settled on a sammich made from Aleswell White Bread, ham and tomato, along with an ear of corn, and sweetcake for dessert.

Following the meal they visited my avatar's statue, returned to the Fighters Guild, and called it a day.

My avatar woke at 0600, dressed in travel attire, woke Vil, picked up two delivery assignments for Cheydinhal, and broke fast at Olav's. Here he found drink in abundance but not a lick of food save one pear, forcing him to again supply his own needs. (Vil wasn't hungry.)

Breakfast out of the way they departed Bruma, traveling mountainous trails to Cheydinhal. They were once again blessed with well nigh perfect travel weather. The trip's high point; my avatar bringing down an especially tough ogre near Azura's Shrine via bow. Took five hits. There were no misses, even with the beast rushing toward them after the initial hit. The low point; spying ongoing combat at distance but arriving on scene too late to save a traveling mage from being savaged by an ogre. An embarrassment; my avatar leading them some way down the wrong trail after dismounting near an intersection to dispose of a bear.

Packages delivered they wolfed down an informal meal at Newlands Lodge. Well, my avatar did. Vilja drank her lunch . . . I swear the girl has a hollow leg. At last a full menu! My avatar munched on beef and leek pie, strawberry pie, and polished it off with an imported beverage.

The original plan called for them to spend the night in Cheydinhal. They made too good time on the road for that. They will continue on to Weye. They now stand just inside the city west gate, about to exit, reclaim their beasts, and ride the Blue home.

Callidus, good luck out there on the roads. Will-o-wisps always make me nervous.

Joan of Arkay!! Nice to see her back and making plans, Renee. Also fun to see your red-haired scullery maid. smile.gif

Decrepit, the tavern menus can certainly disappoint. Sometimes when the packs are open at the table it seems a bit like camping indoors.

Mirocu, nice to see that the Pale Pass is safe again. Lots of traffic this time of year between Cyrodiil and Skyrim.

Lothran is now in full Bruma guard armor and after a few patrols around town currently stationed at the North gate, as per usual. Night has fallen upon Tamriel and temperature is falling steadily. Thankfully the barracks arenīt too far away... wink.gif

Turdas, Sun's Dawn 21, 3rd Era 434

Snaat Rayag is in Cheydinhal, about to meet the third NPC follower I've added to his game. This guy (like the others) is a dark elf who knows what Snaat Rayag has been up to lately, and wants to join him.

The first two guys (Drayan Pluug and Deeshus Arrdun Duud) did not last long, but I made this third guy much tougher than the other two. I used Anval Uvani as a template for him. Guy #3 is Korrn Hol. Like I said, he knows what Snaat Rayag has been up to lately.

Snaaty is on a quest which has led him from Bravil to Chorrol to Aleswell, and now he's in Cheydinhal. This quest involves a couple of skooma rings which are in conflict with each other, and Snaaty is now in the middle of these two rings. That's my custom-made quest for his game so far. After he leaves Cheydinhal with his new friend, they'll head north to a place called "Smuggler's Cave", which is (of course) full of the competing moon sugar bandits. These bandits are led by a chieftain named Ghee Spaat. I expect there will be some good sparring in that cave, but Snaaty is not very good with combat; hence this is why he asks Korrn Hol to join him.

One of the coolest things about Snaaty's game is that I've got this mod called Crowded Roads which adds generic NPC travelers on Cyrodiil's roads. And apparently these travelers aren't so generic. They can look at Snaaty, and "know" who he is sometimes. Since SR has an Infamy of 21, it does indeed feel like 21% of NPCs who pass him by choose to make some rash comment, or even attack him! ... I don't have to worry about these attacks in any of my other games, so it kind of makes his gameworld feel unique in comparison.

Snaat Rayag is making a fine progress - from a petty skooma thief he's now dealing with competing skooma rings. It's good that he's recognized by folks of Cyrodiil for his mischiefs so mothers will protect their daughters from him. wink.gif
