QUOTE(mirocu @ Mar 9 2016, 04:13 PM) QUOTE(mALX @ Mar 9 2016, 10:04 PM) At some point when you have a character long enough, they begin taking over the reins from you and it is sometimes surprising where they choose to go or what they choose to do. Sometimes things I never would have chosen for them (like the time Maxical took off to the Jeralls and wouldn't come back down for months).
Thereīs just something about the Jeralls, isnīt there..? To this day I have haunting memories of her time in the Jeralls. It was after becoming the Grand Champion of the Arena in the first game I ever played. She traveled without sleeping all the way; first to Crowhaven, then she walked the ridges of the Colovian Highlands till she reached Frostcraig Spire, then continued on to that camp next to the Ayleid ruin. That is where she finally stopped and slept, and was awoken by Lucien Lachance. She wandered those Jeralls for at least 4 months after his visit, not wanting to return to civilization. She had an assassin stalk her up there (Audens Avidius) and fall off a cliff trying to catch her; she was trying to lead him to the lair of the Uderfryke Matron. She spent a LOT of time at the Dive Rock camp, and eventually made her way across to the Valus Mountains and down them (but not before she had walked the border to Hammerfell; Skyrim; Morrowind; and Black Marsh almost entirely. At one point I actually did remove borders and see if she could walk to Morrowind, but that didn't work, lol) . Six more assassins stalked her through the Valus Mountains (the Bleak Mine Guards), which is what eventually drove her back out into the more populated areas. When she eventually eased back into the more populated areas, it felt strange after being so isolated; which probably led her down the paths she ended up going at that time (Thieves Guild, and her unfortunate time with the Dark Brotherhood). (then the Wrath of Sithis stalked her, lol. Now THAT is one tough fight!!! ) This post has been edited by mALX: Mar 9 2016, 11:26 PM

I wasn't in the mood to browse the web yesterday evening so, a tad after 1900, opted to read in bed until my 2030 milk snack. Several pages in I grew too groggy to concentrate and eventually nodded off. Woke minutes after 2200. Got maybe 2 1/2 hrs shuteye. Crawled out of bed. Watched a few brief news clips and checked weather/flooding conditions at YouTube. Offed the computer. Darkened the house except my reading light. Returned to bed.
2 1/2 hrs isn't much less sleep than I normally get per night. Was worried I wouldn't nod off again. Come 2340ish this was proving true. While groggy . . . I'm perpetually groggy anymore . . . I was not in the least sleepy. Admitted defeat and downed a sleeping pill, a rarity for me. Not sure when I drifted off. Prolly near 0030. Woke at 0458, two minutes before breakfast. Even in a worst case scenario I got somewhere around 6 1/2hr sleep Might be closer to seven. That's a lot for me. Easily double what I get many nights. I do feel more mellow than usual, but that is likely attributed to the pill still being active in my system rather than the additional sleep. Or is it?
Good news, my home survived the night sans flooding. More good news, today's rainfall is at the moment predicted to be 1.11", significantly less than forecast when I retired last night.
I 'should' receive a package from Amazon some time today. We shall see.

QUOTE(mirocu @ Mar 10 2016, 02:14 AM) Cool story! I really liked her doing that long journey and escaping civilization like that. Lothran did a similar thing once when he "escaped" to Shivering Isles and ended up in a small village close to the northenmost point. He sort of wanted to get away from Cyrodiil as much as possible for some reason. I donīt know. Maybe it was just an expression of myself, wanting to run away from society He didnīt stay there long though, but he wandered the Isles for some time before returning to Cyrodiil. I think this was about his second visit to the Isles. I never wanted to escape to the Isles, but they do feel very different and when you return to Cyrodiil you do feel kind of off kilter for a little while after spending a lot of time in the Isles. (or at least I did) . QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Mar 10 2016, 04:10 AM) And now it's pretty much guaranteed that I'll e playing Oblivion at some point today... WOO HOO !!!
