QUOTE(mALX @ Apr 16 2016, 10:52 AM) QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Apr 15 2016, 03:10 PM) That it is.
In other news, I'm trying to boost my geek rating by reading The Silmarillion
It's actually something of an effort to do so though, because it just isn't grabbing me...
Different writer, wasn't it? (Like his son and someone) Someone cashing in on the rights to the material without the same ability? I don't know about that, but I do get the impression that it was never actually meant to be published in that form. It seems like more of a summary of events than anything else. I was trying to get through the whole Silmaril sequence, but frankly it's just boring. I'll try skipping ahead to other sections. QUOTE(mirocu @ Apr 16 2016, 03:31 PM) Iīm pondering whether or not I should hereby write all my posts in Korean.. You mean in what google translate(or something like that) likes to imagine is Korean?

QUOTE(Acadian @ Apr 16 2016, 01:16 PM) mALX, who stole your gall bladder?!? How many spares to you have? Do have to get your gall from imps now? Seriously, glad to hear it went well and hope your recovery continues smoothly. I think the Hero of Kvatch took it from me in my sleep. I was visiting Robbers Glen cave and took a nap ... (etc) QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Apr 16 2016, 01:37 PM) You mean in what google translate(or something like that) likes to imagine is Korean? I've wondered about that too; like how legible is it really to the people whom that language is native? Like when I did Lopov's Birthday card, he said it wasn't exactly the right phraseology, but he understood what I meant. So Google or Fish might be the best translators out there, but may still not be accurate enough for valid communications between languages.

Not unless I go through a number of years in journalist school and they happen to need someone. More than that, I have to become a yes man and I donīt see that happening

*walks into thread* QUOTE(mirocu @ Apr 18 2016, 01:39 PM) Hey! Who are you calling homo? Which begs the question: How do you even fire a gun? Wings? Talons?

Got in my first lawn-mow of the year. Not the first mow of the lawn. As I might have mentioned, a neighbor lad unsolicitedly did that for me some time ago. Truth to tell, the lawn didn't need mowing today. Not really. But rain and/or storms are predicted for tomorrow through Thursday. Plus, due to low spots in my yard I can't mow it until some days after rains end. That being the case, I decided to get it over with. Besides, I'd not yet tested the new mower. These mowings take more out of me each year. I don't really notice 'while' I mow, though I will as it gets warmer, but soon as I shut down I get quite light-headed and physically drained. My blood pressure didn't budge an inch, staying comfortably safe at 107/71. But my pulse jumped up to 113, and hasn't yet fallen below 105. (To be fair, only 30min have passed. My normal at-rest pulse readings vary from 61-91.) I wish I had had the funds for a riding mower or one of those new-fangled self-mowers. Dream on. ADDENDUM: Now circa 1435, my heart reading is 110/60 with a pulse of 89. I hit the 100 mark about an hour after mowing ended. Not too shabby, I suppose, though I wish it had dropped quicker. Looking back, I ought to have taken a break mid way through the mow, as I did all last year. This being the first mow of the season it totally slipped my mind until after the fact.
