These the financial experts that also said that any effect would be short-term, two years at most?...Or is everyone forgetting that they all said that too?...
Considering it'll take two years to actually get out of the EU, and there'll be effects to the economy before we even leave, which have already started, clarification is really needed on that figure.

So one mistake and they become instantly untrustworthy? The mistakes of Boris Johnson, Nigel Farrage, and Michael Gove are a matter of record, so by that logic, shouldn't you inherently have distrusted them?
QUOTE(McBadgere @ Jun 24 2016, 08:48 AM)
Also...When Georgia, Ukraine and any number of former communist countries want to become separate democratic nation states, "Free from the tyranny of Russia..."...Oh, and all them Arab countries wanting to become Democracies...Why does everyone cheer and encourage, but the instant we say we want out of an effective dictatorship, we're had a go at and told we're all a bunch of xenophobic extremists?...
When the Leave campaign was primarily built on immigration and taking back our sovereignty, then yes, that's the way it works. The Leave campaign failed spectacularly to make a proper argument against Europe, and instead relied on buzzwords and nonsense. For [censored]'s sake, Nigel Farrage actually ripped off Nazi propaganda as part of the Leave campaign

If the country is in so much [censored], then stop whinging about it and go do something about it...
Right, be cause it's not as though UK politics is dominated by wealthy individuals, anyone can get into it really easily...
QUOTE(McBadgere @ Jun 24 2016, 08:48 AM)
We were completely stuck in Europe...We would have been ruined by the burden of having to build Spain's new road system...Or yet another airport they don't need, at least this way we can say we tried to fix us...
So Britain got absolutely nothing out of the EU? The benefits at no point outweighed the costs, and not one government since we entered the EU objected to that? Curious.
And that last part of yours presumes that politicians will deliver the fix that the country actually needs, but experience and history indicate otherwise.
QUOTE(McBadgere @ Jun 24 2016, 08:48 AM)
Besides, in what is becoming a Federal Europe, ruled from one central place...What place would there be for our Monarchy?...Or is that something that you don't give a monkeys for, either?...
Actually, not only don't I give a damn about the monarchy, I'm opposed to the very idea of it. I see no reason why anyone should be held above the rest of us, for no reason other than the circumstances of their birth. It's an anachronistic throwback to a time where the rule of law was the Divine Right of Kings, and that kind of nonsense we're better off without.
