Still, I think that the end result was far quicker than the ending my characters have given Red and Shorty. Most of my evil folk love collecting unique weapons and apparel- needless to say Red ends up granting many items to the just cause...




Fantastic! I had one work colleague of mine who played nothing but Oblivion from 2007-2010. And when I say played I mean played- like 5 hours every night. Nothing else. The interesting part is that his second wife was Vietnamese, little English at all, but she would sit there and love to watch him play Oblivion. While he battled the enemies she would point out all the loot containers. There were an amazing team.

Lopov: Yeah, that Rattler guy is horrid! He's a meanie, and I can't wait to see what happens to him. Definitely like the bad guy in a movie.

mALX: I love your description of screaming at your TV set 'cause of the endings in Fallout 3! So awesome! I don't remember Fawkes "ruining" the moment, but maybe it's because I was too shocked by what was going on.

Sorry about that. That guy's a loser though. Anyways, the big news, right here in Megaton, is that my old pal Marge N. Overra has managed to disable the bomb that sits in the middle of town. It's like this huge ordeal here. And get this, half the people in town are pissed about it! ... They're like these worshippers, you know? ... Ha! Speak of the devil.

Marge N. Overra: Cho! Is that you?

Yes it is. Ahh, hugs!

Marge N. Overra: It's so good to see you!

I've heard all about how you're like this bomb expert now. Half the town is pissed. Oh, by the way Marge, this is my new companion, Paladin Star Cross.

Paladin Star Cross: Hee hee, um, he keeps getting that wrong. It's Star Paladin Cross.

Marge N. Overra: Hi! I'm Marge. Me and Cho haven't seen each other in weeks. Just happened to both be in town on the same day.

Yeah, we should do something. Have a little party, or something. Maybe we can go down to the Super Duper Mart. Have you been there lately? You should see what Joe has done with it.

Marge N. Overra: How's the Pipboy App thingie? Still working?

Oh yes, matter of fact I'm recording right now, wanna see?

Marge N. Overra: CHO, what the [censored]? You changed my programming! Oh I see, so if a girl speaks, it makes our text the color pink? What the hell? .. Hey, where are ya going, come back here!

Ahh [censored], I'm in for it now. Women..... you know? Guess I'd better go before my app records something better left out of these chronicles!

How awesome is that? The app now recognizes female voices and color them in!

@Acadian - Rattler's updates will more or less be sad. Not on his part but on those that'll meet him.

@SubRosa - I'm not upset at all, in fact I'd be surprised if you made the opposite comment, like wishing Rattler all the best. But on the other hand such comments are a confirmation for me that I succeeded in making Rattler not likeable.

@Winter Wolf - the story would be different if two days after Rattler sold Red to slavers, I wouldn't get the notification "Red has died". As I later found out, she was probably killed because I had The Big Trouble In Big Town quest running at the same time and the two somehow clashed. But in a way it was a nice and unexpected twist and made sense that Red committed suicide.

I removed the red bandana from her in the G.E.C.K. before Rattler met her because he has the same bandana and I want his to be unique.

@mirocu - don't worry, Rattler failed to save her too.

@Renee - one reason why I didn't introduce Rattler immediately, was because I wanted him to survive at least the first 20-30 hours. It's a habit I'll keep from now on because in Ben Stevens' case maybe I should have waited a little longer, if I knew he'd die so early, I probably wouldn't write about him. I lose most of my characters in early hours, later on they're harder to bring down. Which means that Rattler might rattle around for a while.

I'm quite sure that the guy calling Cho an asshole, was no other than Jericho.

2 The fire extinguisher

Cherry was crouching next to a fire extinguisher. Covering her beaten face with her bare hands, she was in a cold sweat despite the morning on that fateful day was warmer than usually. She couldn’t believe her own naivety, her own foolishness. She fell for a trick and now her life was about to come to end any second. She only begged for it to be over quick. Quick and as painless as possible.

Cherry was a whore, and a good one. Months ago on her way to Rivet City as she was about to be savaged by mirelurks, her life was saved by Dukov, an ex-mercenary. In return Dukov demanded for Cherry to stay at his place, a pre-war hotel next to Potomac, and do what she’s been doing the best. Cherry couldn’t complain – in return for her services Dukov kept her safe, sound and high on drugs. But somewhere deep inside her, Cherry still was longing for going to Rivet City to start a new life there. She dreamed of owning a small stall in the Rivet City’s marketplace, selling underwear.

And then he came along – the man with the red bandana who called himself Rattler. Despite he looked crazy, his toughness in some odd way charmed Cherry (she always fell for idiots) and after having fun in the hotel’s toilet while Dukov was fast-asleep upstairs, Rattler sweet-talked her into accompanying him to Rivet City. “I’m going there myself, have some business to do there. Now it’s your chance to leave this fat f*** snoring upstairs for good– take it or leave it, chick, but I won’t be around forever. I’m like a sssssnake…now you see me…and now you don’t! That’s why I’ve been around for so long.”

Cherry took the chance and left Dukov’s place with nothing but her sexy sleepwear, a switchblade and some bottlecaps. Her new freedom didn’t last long, in fact it didn’t last even for one full hour. Now she regretted leaving Dukov like she had never regretted anything before. After beating her, Rattler made her crouch by the fire extinguisher at gunpoint. He put a cigarette in his mouth, wickedly grinning all along: “When my cig runs out of life, Cherry… so will you. Then we’ll see how far you can fly.”

After two most horrible minutes in her life passed, a loud explosion was heard along Potomac, as Rattler sent Cherry on her final fly.

Ewww, now I am hoping a super-mutant turns Rattler into fondue!

Renee – Nice to see that Cho has his own paladin now. Oh, Marge N. Overra –


Lopov – Poor Cherry. Let’s all pass the hat to put a big bounty on Rattler’s head – preferably separated from his body. Grrrr!

Very courageous to write a character like that, Lopov. As we have seen the clientele here at Chorrol have a very strong sense of honor and duty. Oh boy, is Rattler on a course of destruction now!

It is only a question who will get him first.

I love it.

Renee- Paladin Cross is another companion I have never used. Beth's experimentation with karma results in me missing out on half the companions in the game. Too many grenades to reverse pick pocket and items to steal, you see....

I would love to see a pic of the 'all star marines' as they try to 'right the wrongs' of Megaton and Moriarty's. It is a madhouse there!

Star Paladin Cross is awesome, Wolf. Cho felt comfortable with her the moment he met her. Too bad she eventually got a little too eager during battle, like a lot of Bethesda companions.


This would be too comfortable. I hope he falls into a pit full of yao-guai, deathclaws, and scorpions, and then his evil, smiling face will finally grimace, and Lopov takes a picture of this moment.

Poor Cherry. What would be worse...getting ravaged by a mirelurk, or meeting up with Rattler? I think I'd choose the mirelurk. At least they don't have anything awful to say!

@SubRosa - RattFondue (+1 STR, +1 AGI, +++ inclination to kill someone)

@Acadian - looks like your action about bounty reached Regulators as can be read in today's story.

@Winter Wolf - I doubted whether to even write about Rattler. At first I wanted to keep him as my dark secret, only mentioning him occasionally but then I figured out that sharing is better.

@Renee - if Rattler ever gets killed, be sure that I'll capture the final look on his face.

3 There's a man goin' 'round takin' lives...

“… and he decides who to kill and who to enslave. He calls himself Rattler and you’ll easily recognize him by the bright red bandana on his head. We have information that he’s been regularly dealing with slavers from Paradise Falls so stay close to that area and you should run into him. Our branch from up north says he’s extremely dangerous and shouldn’t be underestimated but they’re probably exaggerating like always. I mean, what could one lone raider do against us, right boys? Now go and bring me his dirty head, worth one thousand caps. I'd prefer it with the bandana still on.”

But what at first seemed like just another job, turned out to be much more complicated. The first party of Regulators sent after Rattler was found savaged a distance west of Minefield, under a water tower. Those that found them said, that every single limb was cut off from their bodies and their remains were scattered all over the place.

The second party sent after the bloodthirsty raider never returned either. Their remains were found scattered all over the Northwest Seneca Station but this time…this time there was something else. From the marks on one of the Regulators it was obvious that Rattler feasted on him. His fellows could only hope that it happened when he was already dead. And to admit his deed, there was an inscription written in blood on a nearby wall, saying – t a sss t y !

Looks like the hunters are underestimating their prey. It also seems that Rattler may have been taking foe-eating lessssons from SubRosa's Loviatar!

I thought that screen was reminiscent of Loviatar too!








BWAAHAA! I didn't know you were writing little background stories to go with your pictures, this is Awesome!

Like others have said, this might have been Loviatar's handiwork!

I am just extremely worried that there are now two cannibals haunting the DC wasteland.
