Can't wait for this season of "Bachelorette to end, this girl has cried constantly through the last three episodes. It is impossible to understand a word she says! Seriously - after all the water works; I almost wished Jordan would have backed out at the last minute like she feared so much that was making her bawl constantly.

That said, and on a different topic almost entirely: I believe JoJo (the Bachelorette) may have been a Pomeranian in a previous life.

Nice.

I've got nothing much to look forward to today. And I've been fighting off a cold since the middle of last week.

I´m quite busy this week. Tonight is the speedway, tomorrow is the old car thingy and on Thursday there´s the annual big outdoor market not far away we´re going to. We´ll also be having coffee with some friends of our family after the market.

See? I cannot get a job, I´m way too busy! biggrin.gif

Eh, it's been a while since I last had a cold trying to make its presence felt. But this one's being particularly stubborn.

And what do you mean you're too busy? You've got friday free! laugh.gif

Damn.

And the best I can mange to day is going 'round the shop to get some milk, and putting together my newest Oblivion character's face at some point this afternoon.

Never drink milk when you have or are fighting a cold; clear fluids only. (milk is mucous producing, it aggravates any sinus conditions)

Honey and lemon in tea, eh?

I might have to give that a try. Today I'm heading towards losing my voice.

Wandered into town earlier, for a little fresh air, and to trade in a couple of 3DS games for a new one. It was fairly cool when I left, but when I was on my way back it got abominably warm. No sun, and that pathetic rain that sort of drifts down in the air, but it got swelteringly hot. I was half expecting to hear thunder before I got home.

One of the things I found so stunning in Germany was those mists that hang in the air like that. In the wintertime in Germany, the moisture in the air freezes into a veil of white that covers the trees so perfectly that they look like sculptures cut from blocks of ice.

What you would benefit from with your asthma is a dry climate; like where Acadian lives. The UK's moist air has to suffocate you.

Heh, I think I'd melt living in the same region as Acadian. Give me cold and snow anyday laugh.gif

Funnily enough I've never really thought about it like that. The trade-off though would be that a dry climate might irritate my throat more. I tend to have a problem with catarrh, so too dry and I cough too much, too moist and that causes problems of its own. Pretty much caught between a rock and a hard place really.

But of the two, I'd consider coughing to be worse. I caught a nasty chest infection a few years back, put me in hospital for a few days. I actually coughed so much and so hard that I blew a small hole in my lung. It healed up after a few days, but if I cough or sneeze too often I still get a pain in the same spot I did the day I was admitted to hospital.

Funnily enough at the time I wasn't particularly worried. I'd been hospitalised due to asthma attacks more times than I cared to remember by that point, and while this was considerably worse than it had ever been, it still never really struck me how bad it was. And I didn't, until a couple of years back when I was talking to my mum about it. Unsurprisingly, it's not something she likes to discuss.

That was the worst my asthma got, and it pretty much dropped off after that. I tend to think of it as my asthma's final "all or nothing" attempt at killing me. These days my chest is more annoying than anything else, even if I have a particularly violent sneeze, unless I'm coming down with a cold or something. Then I start to get a little concerned. But it's been years since I've had an asthma attack, so I don't think I've got anything to worry about.

Oh yeah, I can see your Mum not wanting to even think about that! What I had to do for my son was to put a window unit air conditioner in his bedroom along with a dehumidifier (because we live in a moist climate too). He hasn't had an asthma attack since I did that; and he gets sick a lot less often because it sucks all the dust partices and germs out of the air and filters it into a "Hepa" filter. I clean the filter in it all the time, and getting that moisture from the air helps keep the asthma "suffocating" feeling away (plus eliminates any chance of mold or mildew, which wreak havoc on people with Asthma) When you live in a moist climate like this; mold and mildew are rampant, it is almost a constant battle to keep it away.
