Oh okay, you had a lot of the same consoles I did. I had an Atari 2600 (1983-ish), Atari 7800, and original NES (1989). After that, I went into a Dark Age with my gaming; didn't do any gaming during the '90s at all, unless I was at a friend's place who had a Sega or whatever.

And then I was homeless by choice for 8 months in 1999-2000. Yes, by choice. I went through a phase during which I got sick of paying rent to live in some box. Hippy stuff. I lived in an old van, but I also had a lot of friends in those days, so I'd often crash at one of their places.

Lara Croft is one of the people who got me out of this weird phase. I had a friend who had Tomb Raider on Playstation, and I was baby sitting his kids one day, and one of them was playing Tomb Raider, and I was like .... totally blown away, because I had not been keeping up with what was going on in the world of videogaming. Last I saw was isometric & side-scrolling, I had never seen one which featured 3D before. And also, the tombs were HUGE. I couldn't believe they fit all those tombs on a compact disc.

So I had this sudden desire to have my OWN Playstation, you see? And to have this, I needed my own place to live again. Lara Croft .... she saved me. smile.gif

Very cool life story, I'm glad for Lara then so I was able to meet you! Yeah, I had Atari too, but kind of don't count it because the only thing I did with it other than a few really boring games was to program messages and lightning on the TV to mess with my husband.

I never gamed online before playing ESO this past June, and up until 2009 never played on the PC either; but gaming itself - I've been playing video games since the first Mario.

My X-husband that died in 2010 was a gamer too, we had the Nintendo system, the Super NES, the Sega Genesis, the PlayStation 1 & 2; the GameBoys and converters for them, the XBox, the 360, the Elite, etc. We had consoles in every room but the bathroom, laugh.gif

Our entertainment center was filled to packed full with different video games, it could have been a store there were so many different games for the different consoles, lol.

Lightning on the TV?

Yeah, the Atari connected to the TV, and you could program codes into it and commands; one of the first things I learned was the different code strings to make visuals and sound - the easiest to learn was the one to make lightning crackle across the screen and a thunder clap.

The easiest thing ever was to use it to post messages across your TV screen; so if my husband hadn't fixed the running toilet and there was a game on, I'd set it up so when he turned on the TV all he'd get would be the lightning and thunder; then a message to go fix the running toilet (then more lightning and thunder, etc). And he didn't know how to make it stop showing that, so he'd have to call me to shut it off so he could watch his game, laugh.gif

I was just messing with him, I'd shut it off even if he didn't fix the running toilet, it was just to tease with him.

Khajiit's first experience with TES was way back in 2002 when he was told about a little game called Morrowind by his friendly neighborhood Electronics Boutique associates. Not having a capable PC for gaming, Khajiit got the game for original Xbox and fell in love! It was unlike anything this one had ever seen before! After that, Khajiit played Oblivion and Skyrim and enjoyed each of them for their own unique experiences.

Is Khajiit enjoying exploring all of Tamriel in one game with ESO? It is like a combo of Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim all rolled up in one game; with a bit of Arena/Daggerfall/and Redguard but with today's awesome graphics.

Not yet! biggrin.gif
This one hopes to get it when Steam has its next sale, since Khajiit will be saving money by not buying Skyrim: SE on the PS4 console, opting instead for just the free PC version.

Khajiit may allow the other guy to take over for a while. We shall see!

Heh heh, good ol' Chester Cheetah! Lol, that image is perhaps a little too... bright, for this one's tastes. Khajiit took this username from an early Morrowind character that was based off of "The Cheshire Cat" from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. He was a Khajiit Nightblade named "Cheshiir". A few different avatars have been used since first joining the Bethsoft Forums, including a screenshot portrait of a Cathay-Raht Khajiit warrior (obtained using Westly's Khajiit Diversity mod), an image of a crooked toothy grin and two green cat eyes on a black field, and finally this image of Maahes. This one adores this particular image because of its antiquity and that it seems to fit with Khajiit culture so well (it could just as well be how Ancient Khajiit would have portrayed themselves on their temple walls!). Khajiit has determined that this will be his avatar from now on.

Which platform do you play TES:O on, if you don't mind Khajiit inquiring? It might would be nice to have allies when this one finally gets it for PC.

Thank you, it's good to see someone else appreciates a bit of mythology! Khajiit will look for you in Tamriel, 2E, when the time comes!

I have been saving the names Sekhmet and Pakhet for future Khajiit characters. I get most of my character names from religion, myths, and legends. Persephone, Hecate, Mielikki, Banba, Cailleach, Loviatar, etc...

That will be great! It has been very cool meeting everyone's characters after years of hearing them talked about on here and at Bethesda - it really is like you come to know them in reading the fanfic stories about them, etc. And then to meet them and see them doing things just like you read about them doing = Awesome. I love that game!

Ooh, Sekhmet = warrior goddess of healing - really nice one!!! I got a kick out of Pakhet ("she who scratches") , now THAT sounds like the Khajiit guards in ESO! Their threat to you if you are misbehaving in their town is, "Where words fail, claws flail" - I laugh every time I hear that, lol,

Khajiit does the same sometimes. One Khajiit character in Skyrim, Tez, was inspired by the Aztec God Tezcatlipoca. Lol, he was fun! All black Khajiit with the jaguar/cheetah spots running around with a dragonbone warhammer!

The Jaguar gods of Mesoamerica are awesome figures to name a character by! I usually try to pick a name that is reflective of my character's nature. For example, Persephone is undead, Hecate a sniper (Hekate was called The Far Darter, for her ability to slay from over a distance with magic), Cailleach my Winter Soldier, etc... The various jaguar gods are great for shamans or warriors alike. Not to mention hand jobs from women you don't even know... wink.gif
