Took my thirty-ought to the cottage yesterday and today I shot a few rounds to check the scope. Turned out it needed some adjustments and I think I got it pretty good. But I can´t put it in a vice or anything to hold it completely still which would be the best thing to do to make sure it´s on. But I guess it´ll do. Before tinkering with the scope I took a couple of shots at the green bird but missed and later I shot and hit it three times and I must say I´m really surprised and impressed how well the target material handles such a powerful round. Really, the only visible difference between the thirty-ought and the .22LR is that the thirty-ought leaves a more black mark, but no big holes or anything. Oh, and another difference is that the thirty-ought kicks a little bit more...

I took out a Turkish pistol yesterday for a couple of hours. It is a Canik TP9SA 9mm and I have to say that I'm impressed with the quality of handguns coming from Turkish factories these days.

A gun thread YAY!!! The only rifle I have at the moment is an American Tactical AR-15. Originally I had an AK-47 civilian model (aka WASR-10 from Century Arms) which I traded for a Century Arms C-93 which sucked so I traded that for the A.T. AR-15 and I've been loving it ever since . It's too bad, the AK is so simple it always amazes me that companies can screw up the manufacture of them. The AR15 is a solid performer but needs to be pretty carefully maintained. One of my favorite comedic comparisons between the AR15 and AK: http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinHumor.htm

I like the AR-15 couse I know that rifle like the back of my hand, the WASR was also VERY simple to strip and clean but the only thing that gave me an issue was the putting the blast plate back on and no front sight tool. Other then that I love both rifles equally .

Sort of like my foray into the world of .22s. Got the Remington 597 magnum because I thought I´d like it and well, I kinda did. But the five round mags and the extra cleaning they brought eventually steered me towards the Chiappa I have now. Have fired 200 rounds and I can´t say I made a mistake getting it And out of those 200 rounds I had one failure to fire, but it fired once I put it through once more.

QUOTE(Cain @ Oct 5 2016, 07:26 AM) Guns are fun. I tried shooting clays for the first time, a few months ago. It was my first time using a shotgun.
Humble brag; I hit it on the first try.
Khajiit used to shoot clays as a warm up before dove season. It was easier shooting real birds, lol

QUOTE(mirocu @ Oct 5 2016, 09:49 AM) Never really gone bird hunting (for obvious reasons ) so I can´t comment on that. But regarding clay pigeon shooting I found that my pump action suited me a little bit better than my over/under. Oh yeah, pump action is great. Khajiit has a short-ish 3inch magnum double barrel (side by side) 20-gauge for home defense, along with a 20 gauge Ithaca pump in the closet, the latter being a good bird gun, though this one no longer hunts birds. Or anything really.
