Just shot the CPX-1 the weekend before last. It is a compact, a class of pistols which normally have more recoil than full size handguns, and the SCCY is no exception. The trigger is also heavy and double action only, coming in at around 10 lbs, maybe slightly less.

Overall it was a good experience but not my favorite firearm. I shot my CZ75 last weekend and it was just as pleasant as ever. The all steel CZ75B may be my favorite handgun.

Also currently trying to repair two revolvers, one for a cousin and one of my own.

What kind of revolvers are they?

Mine is a Weihrauch .357 Magnum with a broken firing pin and his is a Ruger Single Six with fire/smoke damage.

That's a cool little gun! Does Ruger not make anything other than .22 cal?

They make several other calibers and models. They have magnum revolvers and even a polymer revolver. Then there are a half sozen models of semi auto pistol as well. They're a pretty diverse company.

Yeah, I´ve seen Hickok display a number of different Rugers. One of them was caleed Hunter and it was in .44 or .45 magnum I think.

I just realized something.


When my dad no longer wants to keep his shotgun, formerly his dad´s shotgun, I wanna take it under my wings. But the thing is that would become my fifth gun meaning the people looking at my case are gonna wonder why I need a fifth gun, and also why another shotgun (third).

I feel for ya man, this is why even with the firearms I own I don't take them for granted .

I reckon by then I´m gonna have to get rid of my pump action because I do not want to part with the last of my first two guns that I have left; the Miroku 12-gauge. I like the pump action too but I won´t let Dad´s side-by-side family heirloom get away. Might try to get that license anyway first though before I sell the pump.

Man I've been wanting to shoot my AR-15 and/or my Derringer but every time I've tried to go to shoot it my neighbors are outside with their kids and it become to busy for safe shooting. I really need to get further in to the country.

Like Hickok45 said; it´s not how big your property is but how it´s situated; the lay of the land if you will.

I have sort of the same problem having my neighbours too close. But in my case it´s more of a sound issue rather than safety.

I don't think it's the noise of my guns that the neighbors complain about (except for the time I had the WASR-10 aka the AK-47, I don't think my my neighbors liked that gun it was SO loud heh heh heh ). I'm just worried about scaring their kids and stuff. I would feel better if I had either .357 magnum shot shells but IDK if they come in that caliber, either that or buy a .45LC/410 barrel for my Derringer and shoot the 410s I think that would be a better choice.

Can´t you get it in .45-70?

Well there is a .45ACP barrel I could get but the .45LC/410 barrel is the only one that shoots the 410 shotgun shells and if I had that I'd feel better about shooting around my house.

I decided to order the rubber grip for the Derringer, now we just wait for the delivery. I can't wait to shot it with the new grip.

Every time I hear about a Derringer I think about that Simpson episode where they did Huckleberry Finn and everyone was shooting at each other on that boat without anyone getting hurt because the bullets just bounced off

Edit:
I think one thing I might do in January is buy a 4.25 inch barrel .357 Magnum for my gun. The one I have is a 3 inch barrel and though it still works and extra inch or so should improve the accuracy. Hickok 45 uses the 45 Colt and it seems to get the job done.
Speaking of Derringers it seems the Texas Bond Derringers are the best of the bunch in both for shooting and safety. I saw a YT video of a guy showing off the Cobra brand and I wouldn't buy one if I have to.
